Guess who's back...back again....

cheers for all the support for my hundie deadlift...seems like a wee while ago now and have done the hundie again.. so time to move on up the digits.

haven't posted for ages busy with Coast Barbell Club, work and 3 kids down with whooping cough at home in isolation!!! the first week back after school holidays  and of course the obligatory sleepless nights with sick kids :(.

BUT

just quietly :-$ have managed to get a few training sessions at the new gym which is very 8). We officially open on Monday and now have a Face Book page for anyone interested in our antics.

Thanks mate, it was kool to catch up. Will make sure I order a few extra pies if you're coming up :pfft:

...shadys back...tell a friend

whooping cough boo to that hope the kids are ok

will look forward to visiting the new club sometime...

They making slow recovery.. apparently cough can go on for 3 months :? they cough so hard that they vomit and the whoop sound is trying to get air in..pretty scary for the kids especially the little one.

But on a more pleasant note... you're welcome to come up any time for a train. :D

Whooping cough? Crikey - I thought that was all but eradicated with it being on the immunisation schedule? Guess not.

Ya would think huh.. but no there is an epidemic every 4-5years and immunisation against whooping cough or pertussis wears off hence the need for booster shots for kids :? .

A new month heralds the start of my new programme as my training has been a bit sporadic and have been questioning my goals for training this year. So after some input from Steak the programme that we came up with is more of a "powerbuilding" programme. Have decided to log my journal again so that I have some accountability, to start my food diary and just keep an eye on my cals. So with a fresh perspective I started today with SQUATS.

Back squats:

7, 5, 3,2, 2, 3, 5, 7 reps with percentages 50 - 85% of my max squat and then back down again

so did 30, 35, 40, 45, 47.5, 42.5, 40 and 27.5kg

For some reason having no mirror in front of me when squatting is great...I get more depth..

DB lunges:

3 sets of 8 x 8kg DB

Lying leg curls:

2 sets 8 x 30kg

1 set 8 x 35kg

Stiff legged deads:

8 x 30kg

8 x 40kg

Plank:

3 x 60secs

Food for the day:

M1. Oats, protein powder, LSA, s/trim milk, LF yog

M2. 6 egg whites with pb, creamed rice (sm tin)

M3. protein shake, strim milk, apple

M4. 250g steak, rice, LF yog, brazil nuts/almonds

M5. Salmon, salad

Taking BSN cellmass and Myofusion protein powder

That happened to me last week too. I was on a different rack that faces the other way, and wasn't comfortable with 'backing' the bar back onto the rack just so I could check myself out, so I faced away from the mirror - higher weight (by mistake, as I'm dumb and can't add  ), and better depth! Reckon I'll stick with that rack in future for squats.

Hey Rose thanks I needed to get my shit together...mmm training goals..I got a bit confused for a while there.. bodybuilding versus strength training and so didn't have the best direction in my training. 2 x 40

3 x 35.5

5 x 27.5

7 x 22.5

Incline DB press:

8 x 8kg

8 x 10kg

8 x 12.5kg

DB flyes (flat)

3 sets of 8 @ 8kg

Ezi bar curl:

3 sets of 8 @ 13kg

Hammer curl:

3 sets of 8 @ 5kg

Food for the day:

Nice lifting barbelle...good to see

What's the difference (other than length doh  ) between using the 5ft and the 7 ft bar on your deads???

 was wondering if someone would ask me that one....well it's just a head thing really...I cut my teeth doing deads using the 5ft bar and feel comfortable with that. I have just started using the 7ft bar and need to get in the zone with that one. Time to take off the trainer wheels. :)

NICE!!

Thansk Bec...I wasn't going to post me just yet  but you don't say no to Steak if you know what I mean

Awesome training vid BB :D Your new gym looks fantastic too, you and Mr Steak should be very proud. Good on you guys and congrats, amazing work.

Cheers Emmzies...yeah we are pretty pleased with the gym..it's our home away from home these days :D
