Emmzies this is a great journal. The great thing about this site is that most of us are just normal people with varying goals. But in common we all want to get better and get closer to our potential (whatever that might be).

As for your progress, that is an amazing effort! I can see the enjoyment that you have in your lifesyle coming through in your journal. Great stuff. :)

Wow, that's a great change you've made.

I do have a question for those of you saying you don't have "bodybuilding" goals (since this journal has turned into open mic night :pfft: )

What exactly would you say your goals are? Something like health, general fitness, getting stronger? Being pretty? Or do you really not think about it and "just go to the gym"?

My central goal is to maximize my fitness including both cardio and strength, which hopefully will lead to decrease in bodyfat % and get me down to 58kg. I am not interested in bodybuilding, for a few reasons. I totally admire the incredible commitment and drive it takes, although just not something I can ever see myself perusing.

Goals/stats usually in the first page of a journal :P (although that could have changed?) And I agree with the others, well done on losing all that weight.

Yup i did realize that, but i also never claimed to be wanting to persue bodybuilding, as you may have noticed.

yes i did notice that

You caved in and posted a pic emz  ...as for motivation for the other ladies...cant believe that word is still being used as a exscuse on here. Fark Motivation and just do it. Very simple. Stop coming up with crap (LUIGI) cough cough.... Keep up the good work chick...seems you have a nzbb cult following on here..

did you want a tissue ?

I have yet to be kicked out of the forums for this though...

Why would you? You help make this site what it is. You may not be a competitive body builder, but you're reshaping your body (and therefore building a body :) ). Keep doing what you're doing IMO. You're doing awesome Miss, with or without pix. Anyone who'd read back a bit would've known you'd lost shit loads of weight.

I hate reading, though.

I've gotten in the habit of referring to anybody that trains for the purposes of improving his/her appearance as a "bodybuilder", regardless of whether or not they actually compete.

It's easier than saying "person who just wants to improve his/her appearance".

Yeah same here, bodybuilders and competitive bodybuilders.

Great work emmzies, you should be proud of what you've accomplished so far.

Wow, my journal has been busy.... Ummmmmmmmmmm where to start replying to it all...

Well firstly I didn't post those pics up to get receive encouragement and congrats etc, but thank you to everyone for this anyway.

In my opinion i don't deserve any of it though :disgusted: it was my fault for getting myself to such an unhealthy fat state and just because i managed to lose it isn't an 'achievement'. Its like congratulating someone for quitting smoking: it was their fault for adopting the unhealthy habit in the first place, and although its a good choice they made to quit, it doesn't make them worthy of congrats for their accomplishments as such.....

 As always, Completely agree Specter. And yes, i caved, but only partially. I wouldn't call it a 'progress pic' like all the rest... (i.e not exactly much skin  ) To be honest i didn't think it would be that much of a shock to anyone, i've never hid the fact that i was a whale. :-s Not sure about the cult following though....

Wowza!!

How long did it take you to lose all the weight?

I suppose 1.5 years, maybe 2. I never actually had a date where i started and ended.... i just had a moment where i chose to make every decision from then on a positive one that was going to benefit me in the long run. Pretty simple really....

Yeah courtz was right about my goals, but then like Rose and everyone has now said, i suppose we are all 'building a body' as such... whether or not its one thats going to compete in a specific competititon or not doesn't really matter.

Keep doing what you're doing IMO. You're doing awesome Miss, with or without pix. Anyone who'd read back a bit would've known you'd lost shit loads of weight.

I do intend to keep on keeping on, don't worry. And yes your absolutely right, which is why i didn't think it would be that much of a shock or anything to anyone... :-s

did you want a tissue ?

Predictable. Thats what you seem to say to anyone that has any complaint about you or your attitude in yours post (which are nearly always justified IMO)

after talking to my good buddy emmzies it seems she still has 7kg to go good luck emmzies

:-s :^o .........Um Righttttttttttttt.

Yeah but then you run into the Olympic weightlifter crowd (weightlifter with no space) and that just confuses it even more

So you're just at it for an overall "general fitness and health" kind of thing. Fair enough then.

I reckon it was more the curiosity of satisfying some peeps on here of their mental picture of you to compare your pic with your current training and history you have posted on here.

I'll have to respectfully disagree with you on this. :shifty: Regardless of the fact that it was "self-inflicted" you do deserve kudos for what you've achieved.

It took many, many months of dedication and hardwork to get to were you are now. Not many people have the discipline to do what you have done and we respect you for it. You're a great example of what a person can achieve with a bit(a lot) of effort.

So, well done. You've done yourself proud.

Hmmm :-s yeah i guess your probably right....although everyone whose added me on facebook already was well aware of that image.. but i guess thats the minority. Oh well....glad i could provide some 'entertainment' on NZBB for the day anyway!

Oh and its my journals 3 months anniversary, how appropriate.

Yeah but then you run into the Olympic weightlifter crowd (weightlifter with no space) and that just confuses it even more

Lol yeah thats actually what went through my head as well.... if i told my friends i was a 'weightlifter'... the amusing looks i would get would be classic.

Yup indeedy. Simply Optimum Mental and physical wellbeing i guess.

Hmmmm... i guess you have a valid point Sakura. I suppose it took a hell of alot of courage to admit the problem to both myself and those around me (haha, just like an addict). That was probably the hardest thing. But..yeah...Thank you then :thankyou: :)
