Did you guys miss me??

Thought maybe I should post in my journal aye. Its getting a bit sad

Yup went for my first run in three weeks yesterday (feels more like a lifetime) and yay no pain!!! Not holding my breath though I've been here before

No little dancy icons to celebrate just incase i jinx it.

In other news I have been replacing my runs with more weight training sessions and umm I think I have umm made some good improvements. Again I don't wana jinx it but I am starting to see my abs!!!

So morning gym sessions plus I have joined my old dance group again and we are currently training for two hours four times per week so I can't really remember what it feels like not to have sore muscles :-s

Plus trying to get my flexibilty back to what it was isn't easy when your always feckin sore. Haven't been able to walk properly for days.

HOOOOOLLLLEEEEEYYYY crap I am grumpy

I am so so sick of training for this effin half marathon I cannot wait until its over. One more week. My friends and family are all telling me I'm being a bitch lately but thats only coz I am trying to get the most out of my training and eating really cleanly and blah blah blah. What sux is I havn't been out for about 3 months now and coz its nearly summer everyone is having barbeques and after work drinks.... ... sulk....

But I don't do things half arsed so Ima keep it up for this last week. Lol I wonder if my posts on here have been a wee bit grumpier?? mohahahaha

This is what my training/life is at the moment. Probably overdoing it... probably guna crash and burn the day before the run... see I'm goign crazy lol!!!

7am: Gym

20 minutes cross trainer

Train either arms and abs/ or legs and back (my own made up rountines)

5 minutes bike

5 minutes rowing machine

10 minutes HITT on treadmill (1:1)

9am: Home and breakfast

9.30am: Take the dog for a walk (30min up hill walking 5-10 min down hill)

Only every second day. The poor thing

11am: - 7pm : WORK (Not sure that this is really helping my training - my have to reconsider it :pfft: )

7.15: Scoff my dinner of chicken or salmon and salad before 8km run. First 1km fighting off a stitch but then the rest is all good...

5 more days whoop!!! roll on summer......

Thanks TE. Yeh first rest day today in awhile. Just feel tireder (more tired??) than any other day and I have done nothing!!! wtf?? :?

could be diet, could be the body response to actually having a rest day.

Agree with Runveerun, you can still go out socialise without having bad stuff, mainly alcohol is the hard thing to put down though, Vodka For The Win

Run less at less intensity... Taper it out. day before the race make it like a rest day.

yeppy doodle dandy! Rest is the key this week! You won't lose any fitness and all your training will have been done by now. Have you been following a programme? What's the furtherest you have run so far? I would just do a couple of 2-5km maybe one on Tuesday and one on Thursday if your race is on Saturday. BUT MOST important REST! You need to be rearing to go next weekend! Have some good sleep and eat well!

Furtherest I have run is 16km so i hope that is far enough. Havn't followed any programme coz I was sorta playing catch up after my knee injury. Have just been going hard and running 8-10km most days and then a longer run maybe 13km in the weekends. I've check out the map for this run and the first 6km is slight inlcine and the other 15km is slowly down hill. Should be sweet!!
