Oh CokeBottle, how you provide me with so much amusement.

Thank you. I needed a break from my uni assignments which i don't run away/sleep away from. :D

Oh and did i mention I love debating? Although its alot more amusing when your opponent is on your level, but I can make do.

Anyway, back to the task at hand...

Firstly I do apologize that i have obviously threatened you enough for you to start getting aggressive. Nothing my post was meant to make me sound "conceitedly dogmatic" ("interesting" choice of words by the way.... :-s ). Nor was i trying to "aggressively wave my flag". All i was saying that i am not some eternally-skinny-chic who can eat what she likes and is preaching at you with no experience as to how difficult it is to loose weight. I truly don't believe i am more qualified to give advice, all i was saying is that i can sympathize (something which you clearly have trouble doing, so actually, just nevermind :pfft: ).

Firstly, it is a diet sweetheart, a diet can be full of junk or full of good foods or a mixture of both... whatever you put into your mouth is considered part of your diet. Although, depending on the context/circumstance a ‘diet’ can be just what you eat every day or something that helps you to attain a certain health goal (eg: detox diet, fat loss diet, muscle gaining diet etc). You can call this what you want, a life style choice, a diet, or whatever.

You clearly missed the point. When i said 'diet' i meant you need to choose to completely change your dietary habits for life. You claim you are developing 'diet rules' which to normal people would suggest that you see this as a temporary thing which, after the weight (your 'health goal', as you say) is achieved, you don't have to worry about but no, That is not the case, sorry 'sweetheart'.

I find your response quite amusing.

You think rules are made to be broken? Well I'd say you can’t break rules, you can only break yourself going against them.

And to say “I won’t eat after 6 pm”. That’s a rule. To say “I won’t eat fat foods”. That’s a rule too. To say “I will exercise every day”. Yup you guessed it, that’s also a rule. You can even call it a law, a system, or anything that fits. At the end of the day, it was sticking to these ‘rules’ that helped you lose “three times” more than what I will.

If you still have arguments against that, well you can’t argue against the dictionary...

Rule : “a principle or regulation governing conduct, action, procedure, arrangement, etc.: the rules of chess.”

I also find your response amusing, particually in relation to the success (or lack of) you have had in the past week. Can you not see that the rules you have set yourself are actually working against you? Your making excuse after excuse for not exercising, for not doing your assignments, for not eating properly.....

Oh and what the heak does "Well I'd say you can’t break rules, you can only break yourself going against them" - mean? Sorry i just don't get it... are you trying to be witty?

As for your assumption that it "was sticking to these ‘rules’ that helped me lose “three times” more than what you will" - that is total trash. I never had 'rules' of any kind, particually not the ridiculous ones you mentioned like not eating after 6pm or exercising everyday. I took each day as it came and made each decision based on what i knew was best for me and what i felt at the time. The only rule i had was to not give in to my negative thoughts which is a battle you seem to be losing.

(by the way I doubt the person who sets rules intends on them to be broken  )

Sorry, but based on what i have learnt from 4 years of law school, i would have to continue to disagree with you there. The legislature would not bother drafting a statute to govern detrimental behaviour that they did not think would occur and therefore need to be sanctioned. The same goes for your own behaviour: if you think you need to create a rule, you are going to be tempted/will break it at some point (possibly through no fault of your own) which creates guilt/self-sanctioning which leads to negativity and NOTHING good comes from negative thinking. Just look at your "depressive state" right now.

Again you’re picking on wording, try to understand the crux of my statements. An unhealthy/or 'fat' person’s line of thought would generally be an “irrational and spur-of-the-moment thinking which leads to bad choices”. Whereas a healthy persons would generally be “smart, well reasoned thinking”. If you don’t change your mindset as a fat person then you will continually create irrational and spur of the moment thoughts (pro-fat thoughts) that will lead to bad choices and you will remain fat or become fat, so really you would have to change that and think like a healthy person.

Capiche?

Like i said, you are right to a point, but i still agree with my first comment that there is no 'mindset' of a fat person, and likewise no 'mindset' of a healthy person.

The difference between the two lies simply in attitude. Choosing to adopt a positive healthy attittude is the single-most important thing you can do for yourself if you are going to succeed long term. Unfortunutly for you this is something which i think most people on this forum would agree you seriously lack (the evidence lies in every single post of yours so far).

Oh and 'pro-fat thoughts? :pfft: Thats pure gold, you are hilarious.

As for your various excuses as to why you haven't made the gym, We all have shitty days. Its about how you deal with them that matters. If you run away from your troubles they are not going to disappear and your are destined for complete failure. That applies to everything.

Oh and lastly....

I was going to ignore your response because it just seems ridiculous, but I don’t want you to think you’re right, because you seem conceitedly dogmatic and ignoring your response might tell you that I have nothing against your opinion thus giving you

s-a-t-i-s-faction.

Thank you SO much for replying, you have no idea how much more s-a-t-i-s-faction it has given me. I shall eagerly be waiting for your next enlightened response so i can further waste your 'precious time'.

Totally agree. You females need to STFU and practice what you preach. Stop acting like you are advice gurus. When you are NZIFBB pros or have proven you know something about training and nutrition then ill take you seriously..

ok come on now this is getting stupid, emmzies was giving advice because she has been through it so yes, she does have the right to comment and try and help others out, which is ALL she was trying to do in the beginning

True, that. This journal started out with some requests for guidance - which is what Emmzies and the others were doing.

just because we are not pro bodybuilders does not mean we know sweet f*ck all about training and diet,

Equally true - some of the best advice on here has been from people a long way from pro bb'ers - powerlifters, for example, or simply people who've been at it a lot longer.

Anyhow, if this WERE a journal, with reports on training done and diet, then I'm sure there would be good sound advice offered in response to any questions....

I think wat he was trying to say is that you cant preach advice as if youre the pastor of the church (or as i said to emmzies as if you have a PhD in nutrition or fitness) .. as if you have some kind of deep knowledge about it and it gives you a right to act as if you know it all... yes, people do have good advice here, pro or not... but some ppl just act as if theyre right and its their way or the highway.... as emmzies was doing...

but anyways.. lets stay positive.. no point in all this tension

Might be useful for us if you gave us the base of your workout? How much cardio per week etc Weights? Could give you more useful advice that way.

To every other NZBB member i seemed to have pissed off in responding to CokeBottles long-winded rant with an equally long-winded rant, i apologize. That was definutly not my intention. I think I best just keep my opinion to myself next time.

emmzies i didnt bother reading your response bcus after realising wat type of conceited person you are

Nothing about my first response was conceited. Like Trinity said, you never commented on my "I truly wish you the best of luck" because that would have made you look a little mean spirited. Your amazingly long and rather angry response inevitably led me to write an amazingly long reply.

I don't actually give a stuff if you read it because i truly did not expect you to understand where I'm coming from (hence why debating isn't fun with those not on the same level..)

yes, people do have good advice here, pro or not... but some ppl just act as if theyre right and its their way or the highway.... as emmzies was doing...

Lol, you blow things amazingly out of context. I made a single comment about having lost weight and you think i'm trying to say its my way or the highway, that i have deep knowledge? Like i said, i am definutly not more qualified than anyone to give advice. I just thought perhaps you could benefit from some of my lessons in complete and utter failure. But whatever  its your life, your body.

Good luck CokeBottle. Stay positive and happy 'dieting'. :)

As a person who has recently joined this forum and just read this whole topic for the first time I think my response will not be biased.

From the start of the 'discussion' it seems everyone was trying to give you helpful 'advice'. The advice that was given seems to have not been what you wanted to hear so you felt that people were against you when in fact they were with you. From the beginning I got the impression you had a bad attitude towards the females comments. Maybe due to an underlying feeling of jealousy? From what I can see you really have been the instigator of the negativity in this topic. It is a good thing that you are doing for your health and I would like to see you achieve your goals. But arguing over whether or not each piece of advice is 100% correct is not going to help you. Also the members who are 'aggressively discussing" the meaning of words etc. should try not to get wound up by CokeBottle's abrasive personality (disorder? :pfft: ) Anyway good luck CokeBottle...

I see a pattern.. say what you want to put someone down and then say "good luck" as if saying so will make the negative things u say better... or like ure trying to avoid getting into trouble by the mods on this site. Emmzies has a habit of doing this too thats why i didnt regard her first wish of 'good luck' with value.

regarding everything else you said, ive heard it before... and also have replied to it earlier.. if u actually read everything , as u claim u have, you wouldnt have asked the exact same questions bcus u would have had ur answer.
