so did you lose 2kgs this week?

What week? does your week consist of 4 days lol. Bcus mine sure doesnt :pfft:

First Id like to say thanks to everyone who is takin their time to give me some advice! thankies :)

Secondly I stepped on the scale a couple of days ago just to make sure I am the weight I said I am and to my unpleasant suprise I discover that I'm actually much more!! I must of seen things the first time I stepped on it or I gained weight over the two weeks... anyways so last time I check which was a couple of days ago I saw that I am infact 79.9 Kgs... booofuckinghooo lol.... that REALLYYYY sux!

And what sux more is that my mom has bought this yummy delicious fatty cheese... she has bought a whole jar of this salty Lebanese cheese!! can you believe it? I love that stuff lol. Anyways, I'm waiting for her to get home so i can advise her that this is not a good time to be introducing goodies into our fridge :naughty:

Anyways I have some pix... and my goodness am I fat or am I fat!post-5820-14166819725332_thumb.jpg.

I dont know how this photo uploading works but lets hope you'll can see them. Please be harsh if you want to, I'm not sensitive. Speak your mind ppl!

So I'll take photos every 3 weeks.

Damnit, now I have to lose around 20 Kg? I only say 20Kg so I can have a weekly goal - ie. lose 2 kgs a week - and also so I know if im making any progress... but other than that I dont believe in the scale... and 20 kgs is just what I think I have to lose.. I may lose 15 and be where I want to be, but I somehow doubt that. I hope its not more than 20... eeep! lol... We'll just wait and see!

Thanks for you support guys

and to answer to someones advice earlier.. theres a big difference between the processed sugar in my protein supps compared to sugar in fruits.. both may have carbs.. and sugar in fruits and honey may have more calories than processed sugar.. but at the end of the day one is made in God's pharmacy while the other is processed by man...

Anyways if I dont lose this weight I swear i'll go tits up

Laters homies

Note to self: Just a little piece of cheese wont hurt?

Actually - it's the perfect time.... if you can't resist it now, what will you be like without the "it's only 10 weeks, I can make it" to keep you going.

This is about lifestyle change.

Yes it will, but you knew that

So your trying to say that because one is "made in gods pharmacy" it wont make you put on weight?? Also Im sure that the sugar that ended up in your protein supps originally came from gods pharmacy too..

Agree mate  .... Sugar is sugar ... "same same, but not different" :) Don't be under any illusion CokeBottle - they are carbs which = energy.

I'd like to ask the author why is it that people on the Raw food diet lose weight without any exercise... all they eat is vegetables... and fruits

Continued elevation of insulin levels - because it doesn't fluctuate there is less opportunity for the body to store body fat. Also : Diet has very Low fat intake. Even so you still have to eat measured amount of calories for your bodys size/weight/age - as excess will still inadvertantly cause fat storage. But to be fair - the people promoting the diet as a fatloss system were large people (similar example to the biggest loser athletes).

The most important thing to remember is the RAW food diet is not ness designed to be a weight loss program - it's more of a lifestyle choice similar to bodybuilding or being vegetarian - IMO vegetarian diets hinder growth as a bodybuilder due to a lack of essential aminos you'll only get from animal products. i have a mate that is a champion aerobics instructor - he's a vego and struggles to gain muscle in the same way us carnivores do.

High protein diets are consistant with muscle growth. This is a formula that has worked for longer than I have been alive .... as with any diet - it's open to interpretaion but the general frame work is always based around adequate protein - carbs and fats will vary based on how you plan to achieve your conditioning. (same with choice of training).

Agree mate  .... Sugar is sugar ... "same same, but not different" :) Don't be under any illusion CokeBottle - they are carbs which = energy. ..

1) Sugar that ends up in protein sups is processed sugar

2) I did say that fruits and even honey has more calories than processed sugar (thus, potentially adding to the problem of excess weight) however, id have to disagree with the "same same , but not different"...refined sugar and the natural sweetness in fruits (etc) are very different on many levels, and what I was trying to get at is that one has greater health benefits than another by 100% .... i'll let u guess which one im talkin about  .. I wasnt at all suggesting that natural sugars are okay for people who are watching calories.

Anyways thanks for your advice guys!! I have made a couple of changes to my diet.... 1) no fruits .... and 2) more veggies

by the way ppl... I eat half a lebanese bread with tuna inside it.... I havent checked how many carbs that would be but I know the fat content is like 2 or 3 grams..... is that okay? I have that with tuna in olive oil (the ones that come in cans).... that has quite a bit of fat... like 8 grams, but obviously healthy fats....

I think I should start keeping a journal of the things I consume so that incase one week i dont lose much or any weight then I can look back and adjust my diet.. hmmm.

Oh some good news, I checked my weight a day ago and i have lost 1 kg :D ... but then I got all happy and excited and ate a little :shifty: ... that's so wrong lol..... lets just hope what I ate hasnt attached itself to my obliques..cos judging from my fattty photos theyre going to explode any minute now :(

Teamfatboy... you gave me some good advice.... I actually wanted to go out and buy a few chocolate bars to place on my desk so I can practice (without fail) suppressing my temptations... but then i figured that someone from my family will probably devour it sooner than I'd learn a lesson

Anyways I'll keep a journal of what I eat and the exercise I do and then post it up here weekly!

Thanks guys!

Ps: I'll post a photo of myself on the scale tomorrow or wednesday (so I still have tomorrow to make up for wat i ate wen i got all excited  )

ive lost 20kg in 12 weeks wasnt fun cauz I lost muscle and got quite weak but it can be done but ur 1.5 hours of weights is fucking stupid you mustn be lifting very hard if you can lift for that long

Did you get that fatty but thin look? you know how some ppl lose a lot of weight and muslce in the process and end up looking all soft and fatty still but theyre really not fat in size.....

Anyways, I read somewhere if you want to gain some muslce while losing fat all you have to do is eat enough protein and add weights to your cardio plan.... so what I plan to do is one day cardio and one day weights with a lil bit of cardio... like 20 mins.

hope that works!

Just a suggestion...

If her approach/attitude in this thread is annoying you, just don't read it?...

And CokeBottle/Marosturdy, have you thought about maintenance when/if you do reach your goal? Isn't it like 80%+ of those who loose weight regain it all (plus some) within 12 months if they treat it like a diet, as you seem to be?

As TFB said, its a lifestyle choice. Cheese will always be around. When it comes down to it, you have to want to NOT want it... if that makes any sense at all. After many years of painful failure, i found thats the only approach that ever worked for me.

Hey guys!

As I said in an earlier post I'll give myself all of Tuesday and weigh myself Wednesday and then update you guys... so here i am.

I was in a bit of a hurry, as usual, and so as I was taking photos of me on the scale then my camera went into a coma... so i didnt have time to wait around until the battery recharges to upload the photos... but I'll do it as soon as I can... promise!

guess wat?..... my start weight was 79.9 right? and *drum roll* please..... doom doooom dooom... I am now 76.5 kg.... now thats wat im talking aboutttt... 8)

which means i have lost.... 3.4 Kgs!... more than I had planned... but.. I guess being the first week you lose some water weight etc as well.

Just a quick look at the week....

I didnt go to the gym... I dont have a car so I would have to ride my bike to the gym... unless I wake up at 6 am and take my parents car... which was the plan... but backfired bcus I am a night owl.....(no excuse is a good excuse)... so anyways I have to try to hit the gym... I can get my cardio at home.... (or even jumping around at the station platform, as i did lol) ... but I really need to get the love-able weights in!

my diet was kind of arghhh..... I didnt get enough protein... only around 35 grams... I am always in a hurry so I dont get time to drink up a glass of protein shake (again no excuse is a good one!!)..... and i had my wheat grass and psyllium husk concoction but just not enough times and not enough water!!!.... argh... not good enough CokeBottle!

so this week I'll concentrate on going to the gym... and also taking in more protein.... and my diet.

Id just like to say thanks to the 'guys' (as in the male members) who have posted in my journal giving me advice and being relatively nice....thankies... the girls are doing nothing but getting their knickers in a knott... now this is one of the reasons why I say men are superior to women... lol...... even tho i'm a gal myself... but you guys can take the podium...

Anyways ... I reached my goal so thats pretty cool... and yesterday was my birthday  ... so yey me.

hmm wat else.... oh and i havent had any fruit for days..

And emmzies.... yea i have thought about this long term... and ure right.... i have to train myself to choose not to eat unhealthy, fatty foods... I am actually going to write up a diet mission statement... where I'll write down some diet rules.... rules that will stick even after I've lost the fat.

I'm trying to get my reasoning straight... trying to stop thinking like a fat person. I guess Einstein was on to something when he said "You can't solve a problem with the same mind that created it".

OKay thanks for reading :)

PS: I am going to try to keep my weight loss a secret from my boyfriend who is in another country at the moment...... i want to suprise him... i'll tell him the news wen i reach the 60s...:pfft:

Girls AND guys have tried to give you good solid advice and you slap them in the face by saying this. They have taken alot of time and effort trying to help you in your journal BOTH male and female. They have all given you similar advice IF you had read it.

....wow

just my opinion ... yours is different.. do u see me complaining? :-s

no, and yes your entitled to that, i just didn't see a whole lot of negativity in what the woman in this thread had to say to you, i think everyone has a lot of good advice and your picking bits and pieces of what you would like to hear, both the girls and the guys want you to succeed in this journey to a healthier and happier life including myself

When you first posted your journal everyone gave you as much support as they could. Which is what you asked for! You asked for their advice and everyone was happy to give it to you. You then go and accuse the women of being haters when the advice they gave was exactly the same as the mens.

In the end though regardless of who said what your statement is strange on so many levels. I am not sure how gender is solely responsible for the type of reaction you have recieved. Have you compared other variables such as age, location or perhaps experience in this field?

You are entitled to your opinion and so is everybody else. Don't post your opinion and then criticise others for having a different opinion to yours. You were after a reaction and you got it. Congratulations
