Oh shit lol, Im doin mine with my hands about 5" apart at most. Why is shoulder width best?

yea common mistake, what your doing it putting all the weight on your wrists and forearms which will f*ck them once u get heavier.... try shoulder spacing and tell me how much more you feel it in your triceps :wink: and like steak said you can use more weight as well

yea common mistake, what your doing it putting all the weight on your wrists and forearms which will f*ck them once u get heavier.... try shoulder spacing and tell me how much more you feel it in your triceps :wink: and like steak said you can use more weight as well

Cheers for the advice, Im comfortably doing 80kg for reps at the moment that way and the wrists/forearms are ok but Ill give it a go and see how the tris are. And yeh more weight is always good lol.

I think some where between "close grip" and shoulder width. It it's too wide it turns into bench press and will work your front delts and chest rather than your tris. But I do agree that too close is counterproductive. The key is to keep your elbows in and press with your tris.
