I see the results are out:

I went along to the prejudging on Saturday. My camera was being less than co-operative and I didn't get any photos. Then again with only 2x optical zoom, I don't know if they would have been worthwhile.

From my limited perspective, the show seemed to be well run and the classes reasonably well populated. I was really impressed by Salah Ibrahim who won the Junior Men class - he had one of the best physiques of the day IMO.

I guess we will have to hopw that someone else got some pics then!! looking forward to seeing them too.

Yeah I guess so. Tallulahangie was there - maybe her camera did better than mine.

New camera time??

New battery time, it's not holding a charge for long. :(

The camera is great for what it is though - a very compact pocket camera which is easy to take anywhere. I am planning to buy a digital SLR in the next 6 months so I can get back into photography.

speaking of photography, check out the photos of the S.I. regionals on the NABBA site. Different photographer (Wendy Cook). No disrespect to Keith but these look a step up - quality wise- on the normal photos posted. Hope she was used for the Nationals...

I did go along, but only managed to take photos in the prejudging, but there wasn't really much posing in the night show anyway. I have a programme too, so when I download them I can hopefully tell some of who's who! Will get them off the camera and post them tomorrow hopefully (would take forever if i tried to do it from home!)

The NABBA Nationals 2005 were a bit of a disappointment... They had the quantity but certainly not the quality. Of course there were a few stand out performers such as Salah (as mentioned above), Shona, Leanne, Helen, Alex etc. The standard of the Novice competitors were well below par (in particular Novice Physique women... What a shocker! ) The show didn't pick up until after intermission when the seasoned athletes came onstage...

I didn't really get to take pictures at all as I was number one support crew (oh the sights I saw backstage!  ) ...

P.S. Nice to meet you Ash! :D

I agree - there were definitely a few novice physique women that just shouldn't have been there - it's a shame that some of these people are able to qualify at regional comps because there are so few competitors.

Promise I'll have some pics by tomorrow!

Yep, I have heaps of pics of the nationals - I downloaded them onto my computer last night. Pseudonym can I send them to you to upload? I didn't take photos of all the classes as I went out to eat a couple of times. They're all of them lined up on stage and I think I know mostly who's who and who won etc...

i just want to say, that Tom in Athletic class was ripped off majorly. he was ripped and hard yet they picked a soft guy with a tickey hiding his chest poses whats with that.

Also Alex in Physique he was in great condition yet they pick a guy that didnt even quailify for there NAts. He came forth last week in Wlg. the guy was large but soft....Sorry guys you where both ripped off.

Also did anyone see the lumps and bumps in the Int'l Class?

any thoughts on this?

Yeah, saw the lump on the guy's leg. Reckon he injured the muscle a day or two beforehand?

Agree with you about Tom. Here are the pics (borrowed from Go Figure website) so others can see the difference. I was surprised about the Alex decision as well. He's won everything else this year.

Athletic is judged the same way as physique. just with a height weight ratio. exactly like nzfbb having an under 80kg physique. thats the point.

and also not everybody wants to be a 100kg plus juice head.

they should rename it. sounds confusing

Wheres the confusion Jono? NABBA wanted a class with a height to weight ratio whereby the 'look' was less muscular and more asthetic. Hence the athletic name tag..

What do you think is a more appropriate title??
