Ha! Nice pics autechre.. love the stay warm graffitti :D

If your phone camera is shite, mine must be the bottom of the heap. The pics don't come out as clear as yours does!

Thanks poos :D

The close up ones like the grafitti & turbine came out ok - better than I thought they would. Anything long distance like the landscape shot were terrible.

Might do that trek up there again & lug my camera up for the extra workout

Another day, another dollar

Work happened, I think. Didn't achieve much :pfft:

Hit the gym. It was busy, damn those people that get the weekend guilts  Of course the squat rack & power rack were taken, luckily the dude in the power rack moved off after a couple of minutes:

Squats - 5x5 - bar+7.5Kg

Overhead press - 5x5 - bar+2.5Kg - a few wobbles, need to squeeze the butt-tocks moar.

Deadlifts - 2x5 - bar+22.5Kg+training wheels - 1st set was poop. 2nd much better.

Pullups/Chinups - 3xF

Pullups - I dunno, but the 1st one seemed quite easy - 2nd one was ok, third got 3/4 up. Tried another set, got 1 & 2 halves :pfft:

Chins - 1st set 3 good ones + 2 almost up, 2nd set 3 good ones, 3rd set did 5 negs.

Planks - 3x30s

20 mins cardio - ~250cals

Playing: Rhythm & Sound - w/ The Artists - As the review says, its hard to believe this is made by a couple of white Germans 8)

Nice older gentleman at the gym last night moved out of the rack for me when he hadn't finished (awww, how sweet). I mean I asked etc and was fully ready to work in with his sets but he went and did other stuff and returned to finish later.

At the time I didn't realise he hadn't actually finished and made way for me so I thanked him nicely after I fathomed it

I wasn't rude to him I swear :shifty: I helped him with upright rows once!

Square Pegs has a bonk

Lack of sleep the last couple of nights meant I got to about 1pm today at work and just crashed. The little hamster fell off the wheel in my head - he was gone :(

Ran a few errands out of the office which seemed to perk me back up, but any brain functionality was lost :pfft:

At the gym:

Pullups - managed a couple of sets with 2 good ones & a few partials each time

Stretching

Glute activation exercises

Cardio:

- 15 min XTrainer ~230 cals I think - dont know how it worked that out

- 15 min bike ~130cals on random program, this seemed a whole lot harder than the Xtrainer

- CBA waiting for a treadmill, so that was it.

I get too bored sitting on a machine for more than about 20mins, I dont know how people can do an hour on one machine. :notworthy:

Playing now: Burial - Untrue. I love this album, maybe not as much as his earlier one but its dark and beautiful.

Welcome to the future

5x5 squats - bar+10Kg

5x5 bench - bar+5Kg

Inverted Rows 3 sets - 15,10,8 - these seem to be getting better, legs a little straighter out, back munted :pfft:

Pushups 3 sets - 25,17,14

3x12 reverse crunches

Tried some pullups at the end. Total. Fail. I could get myself about half way up

Top Tipâ„¢ - do pullups at the start

25 mins cardio - ~260cals

Met a friend in the afternoon for a chat. Fucken cool, a Good Day.

Music: Caustic Window - Compilation. The man is a goddamn genius and probably mad as a snake. Marvelous.

Your gym sounds like mine - swear that Monday's "National Squat Day". My gym's got four squat racks, three smiths and a power rack, and Monday nights you can't get near 'em. Today it was benches - plain ordinary old benches....not a spare to be seen.

and yep, do pull-ups first - thanks for the tip!

Don't cross the streams!

Work: blah, D-Day is almost here.

Gym:

Pullups - 3 sets, 3+½, 2+½, 1+2x½ - these seem to be getting easier or I have lost a lot of weight :pfft:

Stretching stuff

Cardio:

15min XTrainer ~230cals

15min cycle ~140cals

So, this girl in blue gets onto a treadmill in front of my XTrainer. The first thought that popped into my head was "That's Veruca Salt after she turned into a blueberry!"

Straight away another thought said, what if Gozor had chosen that point in space & time to choose the form of the Destructorâ„¢? A 100ft blueberry woman would roll down The Terrace and squish me flat.

I is bad... :naughty:

Muzak: Sulfurex - Point Break. Fawk yeah!

Squats - 5x5 - bar+12.5Kg

Overhead press - 5x5 - bar+5Kg

Deadlifts - 2x5 - bar+27.5Kg+training wheels - still doing 2 sets so I get a good feel for these. They seem ok to me though.

Pullups/Chinups - 3xF

- Bleh I think I have pulled/done something to my left arm. I don't think it's used to the weight of my big ass :pfft: I'll give pulls/chins a rest until next week

Pullups - 3, 2 + 3 negs.

Chins - 3, 3 - arm too sore to continue, f*ck.

Planks - 3x30s

20 mins cardio - ~250cals

Playing: The Future Sound of London - My Kingdom

But hilarious! I'll never look down the Terrace without a vision like that in my head!

I haz a paddle

Work: I did not get voted off the island. Yay!

post-317-1416681966103_thumb.jpg

Gym:

Chins: 5, 4, 3 - arm was not too bad after these \:D/

Squats 5x5 bar+15Kg

Bench 5x5 - bar+7.5Kg

Inverted Rows 3 sets - 15,13,9

Pushups 3 sets - 25,15,15 - poo. Was so tired.

3x12 reverse crunches

20 mins cardio - ??cals - no Veruca sightings :pfft:

Music: Robert Henke - Layering Buddha. Played this last night just before sleeping & again early this morning.

Total genius:

The FM3 Buddha Machine is a low-fi loop playing device containing nine pre-recorded loops which cannot be changed by the user. Due to manufacturing imperfections, individual machines play the loops with a slightly different sound, pitch and duration. The built-in playback circuit, with its low sampling rate and bit resolution, produces a very rough sound, similar to ancient computer games or talking toys.

Rich, spacious textures and moving echoes occur when many of these machines are played at the same time.

Fucken beautiful

I felt so rooted before going to the gym. I think all the crap going on at work has definitely been taking a toll. Glad I went because now I feel pretty damn good.

Gym:

Chins - same as yesterday 5, 4, 3 Almost had #6 but Just. Couldn't. Quite. Get. It. Arm still giving me a bit of gyp but I don't think it'll fall off just yet :pfft:

Some glute activation exercises, stretches, etc

Cardio ~500cals. Sweating like a c..t afterward.

In the CD player, some local lads: Pitch Black - Halfway: Between Ape & Angel. More of a summer sound really with the lush dubby vibe, but I need something to warm me up this winter!

the good thing is, if I keep losing %bf, it makes my goal of benching bw so much nearer

Haha! I think I'm gonna steal this idea too :pfft:

This is the theory i'm working to

I currently weigh what my previous best bench was. Now I just need to keep rolling with the 5x5 program until I get back up there.

Well done - I'll keep an eye on the 5x5 to see how it works for you. Since everyone's stealing theories, maybe I'll steal this one!

Hmm, I haven't slept well the last couple of nights. I don't think it's affected the gym, but staying motivated at work has been an issue  Thank god I work with a lot of people that have

and can have some fun.

Gym:

Chins - 6, 4, 3 - 6th one is still just up there, but it's feeling better. The arm isn't quite so sore any more. Hopefully this is a Good Thingâ„¢

Some mobility exercises, glute activation exercises, shoulder rotations etc

Cardio ~450 cals

Must have scared Veruca off - no further sightings. Poor girl. :pfft:

Now playing: Autechre - Incunabula. One of their earlier releases and far less abstract than their new material. Hard to believe it was released back in 93.

Friday, gym:

Didn't eat well in the afternoon and didn't manage to get my protein in before the gym - had no energy.

Squats 5x5 bar+20Kg

Chins: 5, 4, 3 - almost had #6 on the 1st set, but not quite.

Bench 5x5 - bar+10Kg

Inverted Rows 3 sets - 13,10,8 - meh

Pushups 3 sets - 25,15,14

3x12 reverse crunches

20 mins cardio

Saturday:

Walked through the gardens again. Stopped by the observatory and took in the sights of the city for a few minutes.

Did some chins: 5, 4, 3, 2

Quiet on the music front this weekend, but did put this on as it fitted at the time.

Gym:

Squats - 5x5 - 42.5Kg

Overhead press - 5x5 - 30Kg

Deadlifts - 2x5 - 55Kg+training wheels - still doing 2 sets, getting much better at these.

Chins - 3xF - 6, 4, 4, 2 - almost had a 3rd on the last set. 3 sets is not enough, needed to do moar.

Planks - 3x30s

20 mins cardio - ~240cals

Music:

Solar Quest - Acid Air Raid. Unfortunately my car stereo doesn't do this justice. It really requires a big room and a 20KW+ sound system  A 12 minute rip-roaring acid track. f*ck yeah!

Paddy Free with Richard Nunns - Karekare Te Reo O Te Whenua. Wow. Was listening to this on Sunday while sitting at the computer and had a wee zzzz. Incredible local music that has Paddy Free from Pitch Black playing electronic music alongside Maori instruments and nature sounds. Mixed perfectly and so nice to chill to.

Work:

Spent the morning dealing with the customers antiquated email system that shat itself the night before. Took an age for all the email to catch up.

Gym:

Chins - 6, 4, 4, 3. A few half ones in there too, but they don't count :naughty:

Some glute activation exercises, stretches, etc

Cardio - 20mins ~250cals. CBA doing any more.

Music: I just couldn't find anything decent to play on my ipod while doing cardio. Did find this which seemed to fit the bill, but its not a long track.

Last night: Jet Chamber - Jet Chamber II. Beautiful ambient soundscapes. 8)
