Gym:

The gym was insanely busy last night. Should have gone a little earlier, but had a report to do last minute at work :evil:

Everywhere you went someone was using the equipment you wanted or there were people in the way. Bastids!

Squats 5x5 - 65Kg

Chins: 7, 5, 4

Bench 5x5 - 42.5Kg

Inverted Rows 3 sets - 5, 5, 4 - elevated the feet on a small box. Yeah, that was harder :nod: Only problem is feet keep slipping, the box is polished wood. I need to steal a non-slip step from the cardio room 8) Feeling it today in the middle of my back \:D/

Pushups 3 sets - 8, 5, 5 - elevated feet etc - held top & bottom for a sec, slow on the way down and fast up.

3x12 reverse crunches

Music: Nothing much to report.

I've been listening to a mix by this guy. Full on, belting tracks to keep you going on the cardio machines.

He kind of lost his way a few years ago and started producing crap pop muzak. Thank god he's come back to the dark side :twisted:

About 95Kg at the moment. Was about 100 a few months back. Need to eat moar :grin:

Lacked the mojo all day really to do much of anything. The gym was a lot less busy, like less than half the people of last night. Where'd they all go? Lazy mofos :pfft:

Chins - 10x4 - epic fail there. Got 6x4 done and could only manage 3 on each of the last 4 sets.

Pushups - 7, 6, 6 - the big box was otherwise occupied :pfft: so tried out a small swiss ball instead. Had some major speed wobbles, but kinda got the hang of it. Wasn't holding for any length of time, just trying to grind out a few reps.

Did some other stuff as well. Blah.

Only new thing is this wee number that has been tweaking my ear a bit. Lush 8)

I'm 6'1, so i'm not huge by any means :pfft:

Yeah, the chins are coming along nicely. Could barely manage 1 to start with :shifty:

Was a quiet night again. Got to hog the power rack for a while and witnessed many people failing at squats & deads. I'm no expert by any means, but some people are doing these really badly :pfft:

Squats 5x5 - 67.5Kg

Overhead press - 5x5 - 42.5Kg

Deadlifts - 2x5 - 80Kg

Chins 3xF - 7, 6, 5 - struggling on that last set for the 5th, got it and as a bonus did 2 moar. Really. S.L.O.W. Yeah, they hurt.

Planks - 3x30s

Music: nothing new today. Fail.

Gym:

Pushups - 10, 10, 10, 10, 7 - feet on the swiss ball & hands on medicine balls. Had a bit of energy, so did a few extra sets.

Chins - 10x4 - Woot! Got these done. A couple of scratchy reps, but the chin was over the bar :grin:

Cardio - 20 mins XTrainer - 295cals - must bust the 300 :pfft:

Plus a few other random bits.

Music:

Plaid - Not For Threes

Bola - Shapes

Monolake - Hong Kong

All of them just amazing 8)

Fridays Gym:

Squats 5x5 - 70Kg

Bench 5x5 - 45Kg

Inverted Rows 3 sets - 7, 5, 5 - grabbed a step from the cardio room, less slippage :D

Chins: 6, 4, 4 - bleh

Pushups 3 sets - 5, 8, 8, 6 - on the swiss ball. 1st set was crap, I slipped off so did another set fro good measure :pfft:

3x12 reverse crunches

Psychick Warriors Ov Gaia - Ov Biospheres And Sacred Grooves. Super album from back in 92 that doesn't seem to have dated at all.

Wow, not that busy tonight at the gym and managed to hog the power rack for what I needed to do.

I do not pretend to understand the ebb and flow of the Monday crowd that have the weekend guilts :pfft: Maybe everyone was too depressed after the Lions got thrashed on Saturday :grin:

Squats 5x5 - 72.5Kg

Overhead press - 5x5 - 45Kg - last set was getting pretty hard.

Deadlifts - 1x5 - 85Kg

Chins 3xF - 8, 5, 4, 3 - yay for 8 on the 1st set \:D/ only just got the chin over. Did another set because # 2 & 3 kinda sucked :pfft:

Planks - 3x30s - 1 leg raised, a little moar tricky.

Music: see previous post heh. That CD was on rotation for a good chunk of the weekend.

Chins - 10x4 - Yeah, got there... only just. I was rooted by the 5th set I think :pfft:

Pushups - 12, 9, 6 - feet on a swiss ball & hands some dumbbells. No pausing at top or bottom, but these felt pretty good on the old chesticles. Will slow them down for next time.

Shoulder rotations, dislocations etc

Some glute activation exes.

Cardio - 20 mins cycle - 240cals

Music:

Air Liquide - Red

Theorem - Ion

Dopplereffekt - Calabi Yau Space - this album has a couple of quite cold, haunting tracks which are just completely stunning. Love it.

I thought today would be awesome at the gym. I got there late and there was no-one about, but Mr Murphy had other plans :evil:

I got through the squats ok, but most everything else proved to be a pain in the ass. The normal benches were in use, couldn't grab a step from the cardio room, chin bars in use etc. So uhm... f*ck it - not in the mood :pfft:

Squats 5x5 - 75Kg

Bench 5x5 - 47.4Kg

Inverted Rows 3 sets - 5, 4, 3 - used a bench for my feet - initially sideways, way too unstable. Lengthwise didn't really work either.

Pushups 3 sets - 9, 6, 5 - on the swiss ball with hands on dumbbells. Did these pretty slow.

3x12 reverse crunches

Cardio 10 mins XTrainer

Music:

Jean-Michel Jarre - Oxygene. Probably the album that kicked off my love of electronic music 8)

It sounds a little dated in parts, but that's to be expected when its 30+ years old :pfft: Still a classic.

I find a bench is OK. You could try a swiss ball. More unstable = more challenging. Which can only be a good thing, no? :D

How're you finding 5 x 5 in general? How's your diet etc?

The bench lengthwise would have been fine, but due to the position of the smith machine I was doing them on and a power rack being in the way, it got impractical :grin: I'll try doing them in the squat rack next time if it's free. Hopefully the bench will get enough grip on the floor so I don't end up on my ass :pfft:

Once I hit ten on the 1st set, i'll try the swiss ball.

How're you finding 5 x 5 in general? How's your diet etc?

The program in general is really good, i'm enjoying it a lot more than my old 4 day split isolation exercises. The weights in squats & overhead press are starting to get more challenging. Deads & bench are not that hard just yet.

The squats are kicking the stuffing out of me though and i've been upping the eating to try and keep the body fuelled.

I'm not nearly at Rose levels of zebra munching, but have had help with upping the foods :grin:

Farmers Walks - 20kg each hand x1, 35kg x4 - first time I had tried these. There isn't a lot of room to shuffle along, but they do burn your forearms :pfft:

Other hip flexibility & grip stuff.

No cardio - there was a queue out the door and I don't think Jeebus gave me a queuing gene when I was created.

Music:

Just this compilation on a great label that had a pretty short but very influential life.

Farmers Walks

These are great. My gym is in a basement and has a huge underground carpark right outside the door. Perfect for doing these and other things like waiter walks, dragging shit, etc 8)

That's cool that you can go and do shit out there! I really didn't have enough room to do these properly - maybe a 10m strip of clear floor. I could do a lap of the weights area but there would normally be too many people in the way :pfft:

I'll just up the number of laps I do to compensate.
