I dont know too many people who have increased the strength of their bench without training...

but i have seen LOTS of people increase the strength of their bench while training hard and eating shit.

not saying either is optimal it just demonstrates what is more important with regard to strength. (but strength prob isnt too important to bbers)

When you say 'eating shit' you mean not eating a clean diet. Whether the diet is clean or not is not so important for strength, but you still need lots of energy (carbs) and protein. Makes the diet still important even for benching.

Most people who are new to training don't realise this because their current daily average meals are sufficient for gaining strength and mass. Sooner or later they will reach a plateau, and they will need to up the intake.

Fact is "homies" diet is everything. Only a luck few can eat shit and gain.

Yes both have to be spot on but i'd choose a better diet over training.

The phrase you get out what you put in. If you eat like shit you will look like shit.
