I had a slightly sore throat on sun/mon, but that's gone and there's been no cough or sniffing or sneezing attached to mine - it's all extreme fatigue, which is really unusual for me, as I'm normally bouncing around annoying people with my energy. Hating it :(

After a few days off, went back to the gym today and did a nice shoulder and abs session, finishing off with a spot of rowing.

Thought I'd better, as I'd been working on a special cake for some friends who recently got married and are coming over to ours tonight - there's been several stages of chocolate involved in the cake, and therefore several bowls of chocolate based stuff to be licked...Right now I need to eat something savoury to counteract all that sugar!

My pre-Christmas cut efforts have pretty much died now - I'm now all about eating as well as possible in between all the fun December stuff. Weight is holding steady and I'm still at the point where my abs are just about visible, so I'm happy with that result.

Will probably even have a couple of vinos tonight \:D/

yea hit arms straight after back, if not doing them in the same session try for maxim time gape as your arms still work very hard during back work outs.

Hi all, I am a new member of forum. Would a newcomer be warmly welcome here? Good day you guys!!!

Yes if you introduce yourself in an appropriate thread, no if you jump into my journal with spammy free movie advertising and nothing of any relevance to say.

So from me that's a big 'piss off out of my journal'

Sunday - did biceps and triceps and a wee bit of cycling. Am focusing on arms/shoulders for the rest of the year now that short sleeve season is here - doing legs too, but easing back on chest and back for the time being.

Today - did a bit of cardio this morning (just 20 mins) and a short leg workout this lunchtime. Will do some more cardio after work on the way home out at J'ville. Trying to slip in short cardio workouts where possible right now!

why...when the arms are involved in both chest and back movements...imo it would be better to keep training them....keep strength up, proportions etc etc

just my 2c :D

howd the cake turnout? :)

Yeah, fair point, but just wanting to do a couple of weeks of solid bi/tri/shoulder work as they are the bits that need the most work and which I want looking good for summer (and in particular, for my Christmas day 'after' photo, where arms are the bit I'm really focused on).

Chest is a funny old thing - I work it every week normally, and understand the point about proportion - but really, as a girl with no intention of competing, it's probably my lowest priority, as apart from proportion I've never really seen much point in me having great chest muscles. My back is getting work with all the rowing I'm doing for cardio, so I'm not too bothered about leaving that out for a couple of weeks.

The cake was really really really good. Gave half the leftovers to our guests to take home, so that there's less to be tempted by over the next few days! It was a chocolate mud cake with the top taken off, then bits scooped out and filled with a white choc custard, then the top put back on, iced with delicious choc ganache, then topped with choc truffles. Truly bad!

Haha - no worries - thing is, I do know you're absolutely right and I should be working everything every week. Just taking a brief chest and back break, which in the grand scheme of things only adds up to missing 2 workouts each, so not really a biggie. Probably won't result in amazing arms either - but dammit, I'm gonna try

Yesterday did shoulders. No cardio other than 10 mins rowing - legs were super sore from Monday's leg workout, which is funny as I only did 3 exercises (mind you they were Smith squats, lunges and deadlifts). Legs still bit sore today, so will do biceps and triceps and probably a bit of cardio after work.

Couple of PBs today, so thought I'd put my mini workout up - just 2 exercises each for bis and tris, but PBs with both so pretty wrecked!

EZ bar bicep curls 10kg 12/12/8 (well, not exactly a PB with this one, but the first time I did sets of 12, so getting there)

Skullcrushers 15kg 3x8 (PB)

Tricep bench press 22.5 4x8 (PB)

Hammer curls 7kg 10/10/10/8 (PB - can't quite manage the full set of 10s!)

Triceps are currently still more like uniceps though. Last time I saw my brother I made him dig out photos of his BB competition days (17 years ago!), and he definitely had TRI-ceps, not a lil old uni-cep like me. Ah well, just keep working and maybe they'll turn up one day!

Why CC, of course your workouts are hard-core, and you have wicked arms

Here's a maths question - is a triceps what you get when you add together a biceps and a uniceps ? In that case, is a biceps and another biceps a forceps :pfft:

Trained at JCF last week.... I actually think their changing rooms are better than Bodyworks. It's just a shame about the equipment down in the man-cave :?

Yeah, man cave equipment is a bit basic, but it'll do for days I don't want to go into town. I've yet to see another female in there, though I have a colleague who goes to that gym in the mornings and says that women do go down there, so one day maybe I'll spot one!

Yesterday, had a lunch thing on, so didn't get to the gym til around 6pm (after finishing work at 4pm and completing the last of my Xmas shopping - phew!). Just did a bit of half hearted cardio and some abs.

Today I have the afternoon off work. Was meant to go to a lunch thing, but I think I'm going to skip that in favour of a pump class with my favourite instructor Riz, as I haven't done a class for a few weeks and like to end the week with a bit of an all over workout. Might do a bit of cardio afterwards too, as hubby's work thing is this afternoon, so I need to earn the wines I'll probably drink. They do lunch and spend the rest of the afternoon/evening drinking. I reckon I'll turn up around 3pm but won't stay for long.

I saw a woman doing leg press while I was doing squats at JCF! Honest!

I was also reminded that the floor is on a lean  You put your DBs down and you have to put your feet on top or else they'll try to run away from ya, little buggers :gunfire:

Nice work on the PBs too

 Yeah, the weights do tend to run away at J'ville!

Did a pump class yesterday lunchtime, and it was hard. Riz is the hardest instructor I know of, so I always try to go to her classes when I can. Managed a PB which I'm really pleased about - normally I do triceps at pump with 7.5kg, but when I picked that up yesterday it felt way light (even after starting with tricep pressups), so I thought I'd give 10kg a try - and managed to last the whole track with that weight, so really pleased about that. The uniceps may well be triceps after all, but I just can't see them under the flabbage. Ah well, I'm in Xmas mode now, so will worry about losing more fat in the New Year.

Had hubby's xmas drinks yesterday, so I had some delicious wine - a really beautiful Nelson Chardonnay which I'm completely in love with (Kahurangi or something - bloody nice!). So no gym today, and started the day with a bacon sarnie to settle the stomach :naughty: but other than that food has been good.

Should have 4 healthy eating and exercise days before xmas eve, so all good.

Part 1 (Triceps and a little bit of biceps):

Tricep pulldowns 20kg 3x8

Narrow grip cable curls 25kg 3x10 (PB)

Skullcrushers 15kg 3x8

Tricep bench press 22.5kg 4x10 (PB)

Short cycle (15 mins)

Planning on finishing off biceps with some 21s this evening at J'ville on the way home, and also shoulders and a wee bit more cardio. Short week, so packing in as much as possible in the early days!

Just did a bit of cardio today. Was going to do legs, but was feeling a bit tired, so decided to do them tomorrow instead. Tomorrow works better I think, as then I can do legs at lunchtime, and the DOMS won't have kicked in after work so I'll do some cardio then as well, so I can have a nice full on day.

Today there'll be no gymming after work, as going to get my eyebrows threaded, so will don the dark glasses and get myself home as quickly and unseen as possible, as I look a bit of a sight after a threading session.
