Oh man I fully wanna know what my bf is?? Right thats my mission next week!

Yours tells you on your scales aye CC?

Yeah, but they're not so great with accuracy. Earlier on we had lots of discussions about them, and people were saying that they tend to measure your bf as higher than if you get it done with callipers. But then again, Vongi said that her calliper measurement was pretty similar to her scales measurement, so who knows.

From what others have said, it's best to get someone to do it for you with callipers for a more accurate measure. I bought Tanita scales last year, so I just use those - but I'm not planning on competing, so I don't need to have a super accurate measurement, ballpark is good enough for me.

Nothing much to report this week. Had a work dinner last night at Siem Reap - yum! So I did my weigh in for the week a few days early since I knew that a Thursday night dinner would bugger things up. So on Thursday morning I'd lost another .3kg (since Sunday) and bf has gone from 25.1 to 24.4, so all is happy in my world.

Had hoped to spend the weekend snowboarding, but there are windsocks all over the place on the weather reports for the mountain for the next 3 days, so I guess it'll be next week. So that means it won't be a weekend full of carbs, as I was expecting, but nice 20/40/40 eating which will hopefully get me back on track after my Siem Reap blowout.

Have been continuing with my push-pull workouts. Taking things slightly easier for now, not pushing things too much and focusing on good form, especially with my squats. I was getting a bit obsessed with making increases but I think I'm sacrificing a bit of form which is probably not doing me much good, so am dropping back on the weights for now and making sure form is perfect before going higher.

Have also had a couple of health issues which are slightly getting in the way of doing good workouts, as I'll be all ready to go to the gym but won't be able to at the last minute. Won't go into details, but it's nothing serious, just annoying. Probably a good thing we're not going boarding this weekend though, with that going on.

Yeah, even though they were pretty similar CC's totally right, callipers are probably better. If you use scales I reckon do it 3 times and get an average. Mine measures higher on the first weigh. I don't have a tanita so mine might be more off (it's a weight watchers one, got it due to $$$). I'm in the same boat as CC at the mo, mostly working to get bodyfat down (and diet SOOOPER clean)

That's the way CC... and you'll get better gains in the long run

Yeah, that's what I'm hoping!

Annoying Grunting Guy was in the man cave this morning. I've seen him there a couple of times and I've come to the conclusion that he's a complete tosser. He doesn't appear to have a specific workout or programme he's following - he seems to just flit in, do a few reps of something, then flit out again like a butterfly and do something else, grunting unnecessarily the entire time.

He moved into the other side of the man cave and started grunting away again, and I rolled my eyes - the other guy on my side of the man cave saw me and commented that he was a bit over the top. Then we looked at the weight he was benching and grunting at on our side of the man cave (which he hadn't bothered to put away), and it was only 50kg, and he was grunting even as he unracked it :lol::lol:

What a f*cking dufus

just wondering, is 1% drop in fat per month the norm (when dieting down)?

To be honest I really don't know. I think my drops are on the high(ish) side because my BF was pretty high to start with - so going from eating anything and everything to eating mostly clean and in the right proportions of carbs/fat/protein (let's not talk about the last 2 days :pfft: ) I guess it's not surprising to see high(ish) losses so far. I suppose it's a bit like people suddenly cutting calories and dropping a lot of kilos in the first few weeks but then levelling off.

But I really don't know what is normal for BF loss. I'm just hoping I continue to drop BF at this rate for the next few weeks so that I can start to see my bulging muscles asap

yeah, makes sense (the high fat loss rate then leveling off).

:pfft: I'm heading off to see a nutritionist tomorrow coz I've been doing a lot of guesswork with mine and I get what yah mean from ur previous posts with working hard and not seeing anything for it :?

ur results are a real inspiration though , hi5s :D

Thanks vongi!

My results today weren't very inspirational - was too lazy to go to the gym because it was raining and I was wearing my holey boots and didn't want wet feet - pathetic excuse!

But on the plus side, I didnt have a piece of delicious Chocolate Cake Company cake today at work, even the last piece that was sitting there taunting me from 10.30am til I left at 4pm. Resisting Chocolate Cake Company cake is a true test of willpower  =P~

Well done CC - hooray for "Won't-power"... don't know what it was like at lunchtime but it was "World Bench Press night" tonight... ended up doing mine in the power rack just to get 'em done....

I think your friend "Grunting Man" from the cave was in town tonight...making one heck of a racket for a 60kg bench.

Wow, I seem to be really lucky with my bench press days - I have never had to wait for a bench, and I've only ever once or twice had two others benching alongside me.

I guess that's because I try as much as possible to leave work at 11.30am, so that I can ensure getting on my squat rack/bench of choice before the full lunchtime rush.

Bloody grunting man with his piddly wee girly pink weights

We were hoping to - but looks like the winds might ruin our plans for the second weekend running :( Maybe it'll be third time lucky and we'll get to go up next weekend (which is nearing my birthday, so might be a good excuse to upgrade our accommodation  )

Working at home today, so went to the man cave before starting work this morning. Nice and quiet and I was the only one there, so just the way I like it. Did some squats and things (push day), most enjoyable.

Ended with 20 mins on the bike which was not so enjoyable. Not done much walking this week (2 hours first week, 4 hours second week, 6 hours last week, but bugger all this week) so thought I'd add in some easy cycling. Felt sick and kept having to lower the number (which was a very low 8 to start with!). Oh how I hate cardio. But stuck out the full 20 mins and burnt off a whopping 100 calories  Will have to do another bike session tomorrow too - blah.

Weigh in isn't til Sunday but had a sneaky peak today just to make sure all was going well, and it is - weight and bf both down on last week, which is good considering I had a bit of a big blowout last Thurs and Fri with dinner out on Thurs and then just general piggery on Friday. Lucky I cheated and weighed in early last week so I have a wee bit longer this week to make up for it!

Definitely no snowboarding this week, as hubby came home sick yesterday and is home sick today (keeping well away from me!). So hopefully boarding next weekend (though if the normal pattern follows I'll get his sickness and feel like poo the whole time up the mountain!).

Thanks BB!

Four weeks into slow cut, and am down 2kg which is the exact amount I wanted to be at this stage, so I'm really pleased. BF is also down, though by how much exactly is debatable given I'm just using my Tanita scales - but I just need a guideline, and as long as it's going down on a weekly basis, that's all I'm bothered about. Starting BF was 26.8 and yesterday's reading was 24 (though I did have a 23.7 earlier in the week) - so a loss more or less around the 3 percentage points mark in 4 weeks, which I'm also pleased about.

Calories last week dropped from an average of around 2000 per day for the first 3 weeks to around 1900 per day. Will stick with 1900 average per day for the next few weeks (though this may go up on snowboarding days, if we ever manage go haul our asses up the mountain!) as long as weight continues to drop, and will reassess if losses stop. 1900 is nice though - most days it's more than enough, though oddly enough I feel hungrier on rest days than on workout days. I suspect that's because I have more time to think about food while I'm not busy working out!!

23.7 is pretty lean isnt it CC??photos for our birthday maybe  9 1/2 days and counting what you buying me :pfft:

Aaah TT you make me laugh :lol::lol:

It's probably time I took some photos though - it's been nearly a year I think, but I kind of want to drop a wee bit more BF first so I can see if all this work I did in the first 6 months of the year has actually grown me some visible muscle. I carry lots of fat around my upper arms and the usual butt and thighs (have always had a lovely flat stomach though, so it's not all bad news :D ), so right now I can't see much muscle.

I'm not aiming for uber lean, but would like to get down around the 20 mark for BF.

Don't worry you didn't miss anything up there. We prob only got half a day each day because the weather kept packing in! But it looks like there's more snow on the forecast which I guess is a good thing (very rocky up there right now)

I'm feeling very optimistic about next weekend - surely it has to be a good one! Can't have 3 rubbishy weekends in a row - I'm predicting a stunner
