Or you could just realize bad days happen, that pushing yourself to maximums one week might mean you won't be able to do it the next week, and there's no point beating yourself up over it.

Yeah that's true. I'm not beating myself up about it though - in the past I've always done my chin ups first when I'm nice and fresh, so if I'm doing them now after I've already done clean grip high pulls, then been on the bench for presses and close grip presses, my arms are feeling pretty fried anyway, so the fact that I can hoist myself up for even one chin up is cause for celebration!

Was desperate to get to the gym today, just to get out of the house and away from the lard arse who has taken up residence on my couch, barely moving except to make a foul mess in my toilet once or twice a day (which poor hubby has to clean up as I won't touch it), or to reach for more chocolate or other poor food choices. Yes, I know it's Easter - but this appears to be normal diet for him. No wonder he's so vilely obese.

I have reached the end of my patience with him and his vile habits, but am stuck with him until Wednesday - and I'm off work next week, so feel as though I need to escape my own home for those first couple of days off until he's well and truly gone, as I just can't bear to be around him. I'm just utterly repulsed by him and can't stand being around him any more. Thankfully hubby has taken him out to see a move for a couple of hours, so I have some Chilli-time right now - bliss!

Good workout - heavy day:

Squats - 45kg, 50kg, 52.5kg, 55kg, 57.5kg (4 full ones on the last weight, which was up from last week's heavy weight of 55kg)

Bentover rows - 40kg, 45kg, 47.5kg. 50kg, 52.5kg (same weights as last time I did these 2 weeks ago. Still need to work on form. so will stick with same weights when I do them again in 2 weeks)

Bench press - 30kg, 35kg, 37.5kg, 40kg, 42.5kg (managed 2 full ones at my increased weight of 42.5kg (previous high weight 40kg) but no one around to spot so didn't dare try for a third, so just knocked out 3 partials to finish the set)

Incline DB press 8kg 2x20

Calf raises 64kg 1x30, 58kg 30/25. (64kg was a mistake - meant to do 58kg, which was an increase from 52kg last week, but accidently stuck the pin in the wrong hole, and only realised when I was halfway through the set and looked down).

I feel your pain Miss Cat. Nothing worse than feeling out of sorts in your own home :salute: He does sound pretty vile so hats off to you, I couldn't, especially after his intro lecture you mentioned earlier :pfft: "Out, damned spot!" Get out of my house you fat lazy shithead!

Must have been a great train 8) Nice effort on bench, shame re lack of spotter.

OMG now I've heard everything. This is nothing to do with my workouts or anything remotely like that, but I can't post this on Facebook so I'm just going to put it in my journal instead (since it's my journal and I can do what I like in it!).

So brother in law emerges from bed at midday today, and says he's going to head into town shortly and see what's on in Wellington today. He's due to leave for Aussie on Wednesday, so I mention that the weather is predicted to be rainy tomorrow, so if he wants to do any laundry before he goes he should do it today, since it's a lovely sunny day. He says yes, he should, but he wants to go out. And I say, yes, but it's meant to rain tomorrow so he should to it today (translation 'when you're paying for the electricity you can put stuff in the drier any time you like, but you're not skiving off hanging up your laundry on a hot sunny day just because you've got something better to do, and it'll only take 45 mins tops to wash and hang it out and town isn't going anywhere in that 45 mins').

So I head out for a walk to J'ville, come back, and see that he's still home, plaing vdeo games with hubby. By this time it's 3.30, and I say 'I thought you were going out' and he says, get this, 'I have to wait for my washing to dry before I can go out' !!!!!!!!!!

WTF?????

I said that is the most stupid thing I've ever heard and told him he has to be kidding me. He said something about 'what if it rains' and I was like 'I'm sure [hubby] could bring it in for you if it rained' (which it's highly unlikely to do today - glorious day (and dammed if I'm touching his 'smalls' - which I use in the loosest sense of the word)).

I'm just floored that he would use having washing on the line as an excuse to sit about all day.

Unbefrickinglievable

Was using all my inner Zen powers again last night to not tell him exactly what I think of him - me and hubby went to see Gentleman Broncos, and didn't invite brother in law, as I'd picked up all my World Cinema Showcase tickets in advance a couple of weeks ago before we knew when he'd be back with us, so just said we were going out and left it at that. He decided he'd also like to go to a movie and found one that was on at the same time as ours. Afterwards we were in the car coming home and he said that he's cutting short the USA leg of his trip, which was meant to be 2 months. I asked him why and among other things he said that he was getting a bit bored.

OK, so I've always had a belief that only boring people get bored, as there are always so many squillions of interesting things to do just about anywhere you go. There are some exceptions of course, like when you're dragged to an event that you're not overly keen on, but things like that tend to last for a few hours then they're done, no great harm done to you. If you're bored day after day after day, you've got to start looking at yourself and asking some big questions about the way you're choosing to live your life.

So for me, the very idea of investing a month's wages on a plane trip to the other side of the world and back, then to decide to park up on the couch and not actually do anything, expect other people to entertain you, then have the bloody nerve to say you're a bit bored...it just defies all sense! And I found it bloody offensive, as it seemed to me that he was implying that NZ as a country wasn't going out of its way enough to ensure that he had a great trip. Yet he parks up on the couch day after day watching Lost dvds.

When we got home I just went straight into my bedroom and fumed a bit and asked hubby if brother in law is in fact a bit backward/intellectually challenged and if I should be making allowances for him, or if he's just a complete arse.

I'm off work this week, got too much annual leave, so am now going to get my arse into the shower and get myself ready to leave before he gets up - should have plenty of time, seems to sleep for 12 hours a day

Life really is wasted on some people.

I saw your husband today Miss CC, he came into my work I'm too scared to speak to him about NZBB in case he thinks I'm more weird than I am  I'll just keep speaking to him about interior design!

LOL! You mean like the time I recognised your husband on the street... Hi yeah, I'm ummm, Rose, ummm, friend of Vee's, ummm, how about them Warriors?

LOL! I just read this to him and he laughed. He said that when he went in today he completely forgot you were on NZBB and was just thinking about the job.

He thinks we're all weird with this muscle obsession thing, so I wouldn't worry about it - I certainly don't

He just kinda shrugged his shoulders and said he doesn't know. Poor guy, stuck in the middle. I told him I'm sorry, but I did try, and he said that he understands, so all good.

Brother in law de-friended me on Facebook today, which is a relief. I wanted to de-friend him but felt bad about being the one to do it, so I'm glad he was the one to do it. His status this morning said something about wishing it was time to go to Australia, and my status said 'only boring people get bored', which I suspect was the trigger for the de-friending.

Hey ho, he leaves tomorrow, and sanity will be restored.

Had a lovely workout today, which I will post later when I get a chance. Want to go dry my hair before the Apprentice

Nothing wrong with TFB! Mind you, you're not exactly fat, so you could just say it's ironic.

TFB - it's wonderful! We've got another friend staying for a couple of weeks, but he was away last night, so it was great to have the place to ourselves.

VC - yeah, he really was. Even hubby was getting annoyed with him, and last night he was saying 'I can't believe he does this and that and the other' (not exactly a direct quote!). He's decided to stay in town when he comes back from his 3 week Oz trip - but not just any hotel, the Bolton which isn't exactly cheap. And this guy is moaning that he is running out of money only 2 months into his trip

Haven't got round to posting Tuesday's workout yet - that's the thing about being on leave, lots to do and no time for the things you normally do at work!

Day off yesterday and had a lovely walk into town - got off the train at Crofton Downs and walked through the bush to Kaiwharawhara, then into town. Really nice walk that I've been meaning to do for 3 years since we first moved to Churton Park - but been too lazy. But yesterday I had a few hours to kill before the move I was going to see, and Mr Blobby was still around the house so I just got the hell out before he emerged and had a lovely walk.

Going to have another day off today instead of my normal Thursday workout, and will do it tomorrow instead. Am a bit pushed for time today with one thing and another, and also am feeling a bit tired after doing lots of walking the last couple of days.
