Worked a lot better with my broomstick at home, which is longer. Good to find a use for it, as it does precious little sweeping (houseproud I am not!).

Medium day

Squats - 40kg, 42.5kg, 45kg, 50kg, 52.5kg (all x5)

Clean Grip High Pulls - 20kg, 22.5kg, 25kg, 27.5kg, 30kg (all x5)

This was the first time I'd done these, so thought it best to start light this week to work out what the proper weight should be I'm doing these at. These weights all felt pretty easy, so could probably go up a step next week.

Incline Press - 20kg, 22.5kg, 25kg (all x5), 32.5kg (2x5) 27.5kg x8

This was the first time I did this with an oly bar, so went pretty low to start with.

Close grip bench press - (meant to be 3x12) 30kg (2x5), 20kg 1x12 (will stick with the lower weight for these!)

Chins 3/3/3/2

Now I've got 2 days off the gym until my next heavy day. Not sure what to do with myself!

Very nice time down in the man cave this morning. Not another soul on the squat rack/bench press side of the cave, so very nice to have the place all to myself. Had a very satisfying heavy day and feeling bloody great.

Squats - 40kg, 45kg, 50kg, 52.5kg, 55kg (managed 5x5 for all, after stagnating on just a few reps at 55kg for the last few weeks, so yeeha on that one!)

Deadlifts - 30kg, 32.5kg, 35kg, 37.5kg, 40kg (all 5x5 - this was the first time I've done proper deads, as opposed to SLDLs, having just learnt how to do them from my teacher Miss Rose last week. Thought I'd start light with them and see how I go, and was happy with this weight, and will go higher next time. The 'sample routine' I'm using for my 5x5 has bent over rows on heavy day, so what I think I'll do is alternate every second week deads and bent over rows so that I don't lose my strength on bent over rows, and slowly build up the deads)

Bench press - 30kg, 32.5kg, 35kg, 37.5kg, 40kg (all 5x5 - as with squats, I'd stagnated a bit on these for the last few weeks, unable to knock out 5 reps at my highest weight - but after my brilliant session on form with Rose last week, I managed the full set of 5, so a second yeeha for the day on that one!)

Incline DB press - 8kg 2x20 - just as challenging as it was last week!

Calf raises - 52kg 3x30 (managed the full 3x30, better than last week's 30/25/25, so feeling good)

Sounds like someone's having a real good day, well done indeed CC...

Was feeling so good that I even did a major toilet/bathroom/laundry clean (complete with scrubbing the floors good and proper - a once in about 2 years event) - gotta harness that adrenalin/endorphin buzz/whatever-the-hell-it-was-that-was-buzzing-me-despite-being-exhausted when I have it,

Maybe I need to book myself a session with Dr Rose....

Light day today

Squats: 40kg 1x5, 45kg 1x5, 50kg 3x5

SLDLs: 40kg, 42.5kg, 45kg, 47.5kg, 50kg - all 5x5

Overhead press: oly bar 3x5, 2x3

Dips: 8/8/6/6 (first 2 narrow, second 2 wide)

EZ bar curls: bar + 5kg 2x15

Nice and quiet in the gym this lunchtime. Same on the train to and from work. Guess people are taking advantage of the upcoming long weekend and taking holidays.

Wanna? NO! But visitors coming, and since I'd done the kitchen the week before, it was time to do the rest of the floors. Now I won't have to do them again for another 3 years :lol:

I'm not very houseproud, but every now and then the filth gets to me and I go on a bit of a cleaning bender! It's a very rare event though, which I guess is why it felt newsy enough to put in my journal :lol:

I find things start to become self cleaning after awhile. Similar concept to self-cleaning hair etc :pfft:

Not sure I believe the bit about it not smelling - in my uni days I sat behind many a person who seemed to be an advocate of the no shampoo thing. Maybe it was giving up smoking that made me more sensitive -but I could definitely smell it!

I'd kind of hoped that toilets would be self-cleaning, but sadly not

I've never been able to attain self-cleaning hair because of the initial grease phase. I've never even made it to the worst part, weeks 3 and 4 :shock:

Self cleaning toilets, I think that might be harder to attain with a man in the house. Heh :grin:

Hey, it was the end of a workout that already had a PB in, and was only supposed to be a medium day anyway, right?

Looked like you had your "race face" on when I wandered past, fully focussed and having fun... KUTGW :clap:

Haha! Yeah, you must have snuck in sometime while I was over at the bench - spotted you while I was attempting my chins.

Yeah, only a medium day, though I should still be able to do the 3 reps I managed last week.

I blame the 2 glasses of wine I had last night :naughty:
