Feeling very lethargic today - maybe yesterday's workout wore me out? Am now 58.7kg, which is the lowest I've been in years, so am extremely happy despite lack of energy.

Today I spent longer getting to and from the gym and getting changed than actually working out. Did 3 shoulder exercises, then decided just to leave it, as I just didn't have the energy.

Did manage a PB on the DB shoulder press, but only just - 10kg 4x10 (one extra set than last week)

Lat raises 5.7kg 3x12

DB Front raises 4.5kg 3x12

Still haven't done legs this week, and am considering leaving them til Monday if I'm feeling as lethargic tomorrow - have a break and come back with a vengeance rather than a halfhearted effort. I've also got Monday all day and Tuesday afternoon off work, so lots of time for 2 really awesome workouts on those days rather than my normal rush job at lunchtime.

Might do a pump class instead of legs, as my fave pump instructor is scheduled for tomorrow lunchtime.

I know how you feel chillicat. On Wed I felt the same and had to pull myself through the workout, ended up being quite a waste of time.

Some days it is hard to find the energy and its sometimes our body's way telling us it needs to rest then once rested we can give it our all!

I have not done legs as yet either  I was supposed to today but I ended up going shopping with my mother in law and time ran out etc

I'm going to go to body pump tomorrow so I get a leg workout..better late then never!

Do different instructors play different tracks at our gym? sometimes instructors do that at the gym I go too if they want to play old releases or mix it up but mostly they stick to the latest release...what song track is the one you hate?(when is it played squats, chest ??)

My gym has a mixture of pump instructors - about half of them make up their own stuff, and they are the best ones. The others use the pre-choreographed stuff with the same music for the classes, and I try to avoid them as much as possible, as the music sucks, and the classes just feel boring and repetitive. They don't seem to do much mixing up of music - these ones we have at the moment are pretty lazy and just go through the same 'release' class after class.

The song that drives me completely crazy is this dire version of Living on a Prayer. I don't know who is singing it - doesn't sound like Bon Jovi (another thing I hate - bad cover versions) - but what makes this song really really bad is the awful drum beat that kicks in at the chorus. It's like disco 80s hair rock and is just the most awful song ever. Almost all the songs they are currently using are pretty bad, but I have to keep coming to the gym later now when I know one of those instructors in scheduled, so I don't have to endure it. At least it's a squat track, so it's over with pretty early!

I've got ironic leg DOMS this weekend. Ironic because I really don't think I put much effort in on Friday - like Thursday, I only did 3 exercises, when I normally do about 7 on leg day. I did do a couple of PBs though, so I guess that extra effort on a couple of exercises is what did it.

Dead lifts: 35kg 4x10 PB My previous PB on these was 2x8 and my plan was to do 4x8, but I when I was doing them I read the wrong thing and did 4x10 instead (which was my intention for sumo squats). Just goes to show that even if you plan on beating your last PB, you still might have a bit more in you that you didn't realise. So no wonder my hammies are crying out this weekend!

Sumo squats: 30kg 4x10 PB My legs were shaking all through this - wasn't a pretty sight, and showed how much body fat is still clinging to my frame!

Seated leg press (and calves): 133kg 1x8, 124kg 3x10. Wasn't impressed with my effort with these, but quads really sore this weekend, so I guess I worked, even though I thought my form was pretty bad.

Food has been ok this week, but I had a scheduled piece of cheesecake while whatching the football last night at my friend's place (light cream cheese and sour cream, and I chose to make the fruit one rather than the cookies and cream oreo one that I was tempted to make!).

So back into the healthy eats for the rest of this week. Am going to be extremely strict with myself Sun - Thurs this week, as hubby and I are going out for our anniversary dinner on Friday, so that might turn into a cheat day. I'll check the menu of where we're going before we go so that I know what I'll order. So far I know I'm having lamb shanks for my main - mmmmmmmmm!

Good stuff Chillicat! DOMS is good you're right it means you did something!!

My BF shakes when I do step ups, well I notice it more- if only I could just stand still all the time it would too! I figure this is a long slow process to get rid of it all

Scheduled cheesecake sounds good =P~ I had a scheduled ice cream this week, I was thinking of having no cheats till Christmas as I know it's gonna be full of chocolate and crap! Not sure I can last that long without something bad though  KUTGW!

Day off work today, so had the luxury of an hour and a half at the gym today. Decided to hit chest, tri, back and bi today, then legs and shoulders tomorros (as I've got the afternoon off, so more time), then do a few more exercises for each muscle group during the rest of the week so that everything gets a really good hammering this week!

So today's efforts were:

Pressups 30/15/12 (PB)

DB chest press 15kg 8/6, 12kg 8/8

Skullcrushers 12.5kg 3x12

Tricep bench press 17.5g 4x12 (PB)

Tricep pulldowns 15kg 4x12

Unassisted dips 8/10/8/8 (PB)

Lat pulldowns 40kg 4x8 (PB)

Cable rows 40kg 4x8 (PB)

EZ bar bicep curls 10kg 10/10/8/8 (PB)

Narrow grip cable curls 20kg 1x12, 25kg 1x10, 30kg 2x5 (PB)

Also did some abs.

I've taken some pics too, which I'll attempt to upload. This is the 4 week point of my 10 week cut. Not a huge improvement, but I think I can see improvement on my September pics.

Are my pics on p21 not showing properly? I thought they were ok, but when I looked at them just now they were only showing my left side  so maybe I didn't put them up properly or make them small enough or whatever. Let me know if the ones I post now don't show properly and I'll attempt to become computer literate and fix them

Must be me I can only see the left side of your arm..but as they say looking bumpy aka solid..well done

Yeah, that's how it looks to me too - same with my old pics as well. But people are commenting, so they're either being really polite, or it looks ok on their computers!! Odd, as they looked ok before - I'll have to check how they look on my work computer tomorrow - maybe I've put up pics that are too big? No idea - I'm really hopeless with uploading pictures and resizing and whatnot.

Look at all those PBs too! Sorry your pics have detracted from your lifts! Well done! you must be pleased!

Yeah, I'm really pleased - every time I think I've done as much as I possibly can, I surprise myself with an extra set or a few reps at a heavier weight. One day I'll sit down and do a comparison of the weights I was lifting when I started at the end of Feb and what I'm doing now - should be a giggle!

Thanks Emmzies!

I wore some new 3/4 pants to work this morning (needed new ones as old ones from last year are swimming on me now!) and someone commented about how I've lost weight. That's the second person recently who has said something, which is kind of funny because I lost the bulk of weight, around 6kg, earlier in the year, and maintained that for a good 3 months or so before now when all I've lost is 2kg - but that's when people are noticing. I'm kind of annoyed that I have to keep telling them 'I'm not skinny, I'm muscley':lol: But I guess it's not quite warm enough yet for the kind of top that will show my muscles. Mind you, it seems that most of my muscles are growing on my back and not around my arms, which is what I would really like - so I guess I'm just gonna have to work my arms more!

So today I did legs. Nothing much on the PB front today, just seated calf raises and those swiss ball hamstring roll thingies, so nothing of any great value

Smith squats 55kg 10/10/8/8

Smith lunges 32.5kg 2x10 (only did 2 sets as I was feeling a bit vomity and thought I should maybe have a sit down)

Seated calf raises 60kg 4x10

Deads 35kg 4x10

Sumo squats 30kg 4x10

Seated leg press 124kg 4x10

Swiss ball hammie rolls (mmm ham rolls!) 4x12

DOMS are killing me after yesterday, so think tomorrow will be a cardio day. Can't face spin (no Ashley til next Tuesday lunch), so will just go it alone on a bike I think. Might row - I've been enjoying that as a warm up, so maybe do it for a bit longer.

Thanks Sakura.

Ouch, DOMS are bad today, and it's raining. Might be an after work cardio session today, as I hate going to the gym at lunchtime in the rain. It's amazing just how wet you can get in a 10 minute walk in the rain. And how much wetter you can get on the 10 minute walk back. Better to do it all when I'm leaving for the day, and heading in that direction anyway - get wet once instead of 3 times!
