I didn't do anything much yesterday - still feeling a bit slammed (didn't help that I nearly got knocked out by my own teammate at netball on Tuesday and felt like my jaw had almost been dislocated!). Still feel like the weight is coming off though.

Bikini arrived yesterday - completely not what I had imagined, but I really like it - hopefully will look good on stage. I can actually get into it too (which I was a little worried about). I was very annoyed to see quite a few women at the nationals wearing variations of the bikini I really wanted - where the hell did they get it from here!?

Yay, glad the bikini fits!

One option you could think about for a tan that's fairly mess-free is magic tan http://www.magictannz.com/ You stand inside a booth and it sprays the tan on you. I've used this a few times for special occasions and it's great. You'd probably need the darkest colour and a couple of visits to build up a stageworthy base. Not sure if you'd then need to apply anything else on the day. I know a guy who uses magic tan for his competitions so will try and find out more if you want?

Yeah, been busy with work - not much time for surfing :wink:

Where I go it costs $45 for light colour, $55 for medium colour and $65 for dark (not cheap but it saves a lot of time and mess). Will try and find out more - hopefully not too many sessions are required!

I used Protan as a base coat (3 layers, applied in the days prior to the comp) and finished off with a layer of DreamTan II on the day. The DreamTan contains glitter or something in it, so you don't need to worry about oil. Use hairspray to set the DreamTan so it doesn't rub off everywhere. (Actually, it will still get everywhere - but at least more of it will stay on you!)

I was told I had a nice even colour. :)

Would be great if you could get info on magic tan. Hadn't heard of it before... What does it cost do you know?

OK maybe this isn't going to be such a good (cheap) option. He uses 4 - 5 Magic Tans plus Dream Tan on the day. (I think he gets a discount on the price because he does so many sessions.)

Hmm, well I might try one to see how it goes, and if it's not dark enough go with the protan/dream tan option. That is of course if I compete. I've been feeling so unenthused this week! Tired, lethargic and generally just crap. I think whatever happens though I am going to go through the cutting/carb depletion and decide on the Thursday before. So even if I don't compete then I'll post some pics up! haha. I have only been managing a single cardio session each day this week. I don't seem to have another one in me. :(

Yesterday I did chest/back:

Circuit 1 (3 sets)

45degree incline dumbell chest press 6 reps @ 15kg

12 decline pressups (as in feet on bench arms on the floor)

20degree dumbell chest press 12, 6, 7 @ 15kg (have to go to failure, which isn't very far after a few sets of the pressups!)

Circuit 2 (3 sets)

Chin ups 6, 5, 4.5 :oops:

Barbell rows 12 reps @ 30kg (need to put up weight)

Racked bar pullups 10, 10, 10 (I hate these - and not because they hurt)

Close grip rows 15 reps @ 45 (added these in because I hate the pullups so much)

Wide grip machine rows 3 x 12 @ 75, 90, 90

Then did 30 mins on the exercycle.

Then had yummy japanese food for dinner...

Think of how much better you'll look on stage if you do the extra cardio. Is there a figure that you admire? Visualise that while you are doing your cardio to try and get you through.

Just went down to the little gym at work and did 30 mins on the cross trainer.

Hmm, she's still leaner than me (although the trainer thought that we may come in around 10% but that was before I got sick and put back a bit...) but I think I have better chest and width.

OK, will try and get some more pics taken this weekend (after a bit of a fake tan application :pfft: ).

OK, no pics as yet. Still not feeling 100% (damn flu!)

On Friday I went to the gym after work and did more legs. Must have been a goodie coz they were sore all weekend

Circuit 1 (3 sets)

6 Squats @ 60kg

12 lunges each leg with 10kg dumbells

40 bw squats

Circuit 2 (3 sets)

6 Leg curls @ 130lb (59kg)

12 DB romanian deadlifts - 22.5kg dumbells

25 back extensions

Seated calf raise (on leg press machine) 3 x 12 @ 60kg

Cable crunch 4 x 12 @ 48 (somethings)

Swissball crunches 3 x 20

Then did 10 mins on stepper, 10 mins on exercycle and about 5.5 mins on the arc trainer, by which time I was feeling slightly light headed and thought I'd stop....

Did some cycling on Sat, and not a whole lot yesterday as I was feeling pretty crap (again!) :evil:

AWESOME WORK... on squats and deadlifts.

Hang in there and dont let the diet get you down. Maybe use a stronger thermo of a different brand to give you a greater kick and keep you going.

Nice lat work too... all the chins and pull ups is better than most of us guys on here ... good work !

Yesterday I did arms (knowing that my trainer would want to do legs with me this morning - I hate being right!)

Circuit 1 (3 sets)

6 Seated shoulder press on swiss ball @ 12.5kg

12 seated lat raises on swiss ball @ 6kg (shoulders felt quite weak)

25 Standing cable lat raise @ mostly 2 and 1 but some 3 at the beginning

Circuit 2 (3 sets)

6 Incline DB curls @ 8kg

12 standing DB curls @ 6kg

28 standing alternating DB curls @ 8kg

Then did tricep extension machine 3 x 12 @ 50, 60, 60lb

Rope tricep pressdown 3 x 12 @ 24

Cable crunches 3 x 30 @ around 36 or so (I'm not sure what units the cable things are in, it doesn't say anywhere...)

Obliques 3 x 15 each side

Then this morning, did more legs... :?

Circuit 1 (3 sets)

6 Squats @ 40, 60, 65kg :P

12 lunges each leg with 10kg dumbells

30 bw squats

Circuit 2 (3 sets)

6 leg curls (ouch - these hurt so much, but I'm not sure what weight they were because their gym has a different machine)

12 BB Romanian deadlifts @ 40kg

25 reverse hyperextensions

Then did 3 x 12 hanging leg raises and 3 x 22 lying alternating crunch things (elbow to opposite knee kind of thing) he calls them Chinees...

So, already hurting all over and it's only 11am... Indoor netball tonight

I have a flatwarming to go to on Sat, so I probably won't be going to the Nabba comp. (plus I think the boy would have a meltdown if I asked him to go to yet another comp! :roll: )

Feeling reasonably positive but partly because I'm feeling less stressed about it. I'm doing all I can to be ready, but if I don't feel like I'm in the best condition I can be on the day then May isn't that far away and I've got a great base to be getting on with between now and then. Body fitness is another option as well, even though I feel like you get ripped off because you only get to do the 1/4 turns and not the compulsory poses.

Was my day off weights yesterday, so nothing to say there...

Had my first run today since I got sick however many weeks ago. It was actually a lot better than I expected. Managed a 38min run and I think we got through about 6.5km. Arse didn't complain too much after Tuesday's netball game.

I think I officially have a two-pack after some posing practice last night. Now only 4 to go!! :lol:

Solid achievement on getting the stubborn ol abs to show! I havent seen mine since I was about 8 years old... :pfft:

Do some 'extreme stretching' with your trainer to get rid off the ass sprain, follow that up with some deep tissue massage from your boy!

No kidding... eevry time I deadlift the next day I get the missus to give me deep tissue massages, it cuts DOMS and improves recovery with all the blood flowing into every tiny tissue.
