The more i read this journal the more i'm impressed, your like some genetic freak, 6.5 km in 38 mins is good considering your just been sick and havent run it for a while. I can barely run 200 meters. Plus your one very strong person as well and also play netball, do you have any relaxation time??

Thanks guys! I need the encouragement at the moment! I'm pretty confident that this week is going to suck due to the lack of anything worth eating! but I'm going to get through it. Hopefully it's enough and my body fat is low enough on Thurs/Fri for me to feel good about competing. My routine is ready, posing is ok (although will have to do quite a bit this week to keep thinks moving along!)

A few more abs are starting to come out...

Had a day off work on Friday (and a day off training)... but Sat was Chest/Back day (but I ran out of energy in the morning and only did some of the back workout)

Circuit 1 (3 sets)

6 x 45deg incline DB press @ 15 (these are easy but I'm supposed to use the same weight for the second lot of db presses and I would really struggle with the second lot if I went any higher than 15)

12 x decline pressups

10, 7, 8 x 20deg incline press @ 15kg

Also did 3 x 12 machine flyes @ 80lb (can do higher on these, but the chest was feeling a bit sore after the first circuit so didn't push it). I superset these with:

1 set cable crossovers (don't know what weight it was) then some guy came and butted in on the cables so I did 2 x 12 reverse flyes @ 40lb

Back workout was a bit pathetic, did 1 circuit

6 chins

12 bb rows @ 40kg

20 close grip seated rows @ 60

Then walked home and pottered around for the day. Then in the afternoon I ran to the gym (wasn't that long, but decided I needed to raise my heart rate a bit) did shoulders/biceps/triceps

Shoulder circuit (3 sets)

6 db press @ 12.5

12 lat raise at 6, 6, 4kg

20 cable lat raise @ 2/1

Biceps circuit (3 sets)

6 incline db curls @ 8kg

12 standing db curls @ 6kg

28 alternating db curls @ 8kg

Also did some triceps

3 x 12 tricep pressdown with rope can't remember what weight for these two

3 x 12 tricep pulldown with bar

3 x 12 tricep pressdown on the machine thing @ 50lb

Then yesterday I had my last legs workout before the comp:

Circuit 1 (3 sets)

6 Squats @ 60kg

12 lunges each leg with 10kg dbs

30 bw squats

Circuit 2 (3 sets)

6 hamstring curls @ 130lb

12 BB SLDL @ 40kg

25 reverse hyper extensions

also did 3 x 20 oblique crunches each side and also mucked around on one of the ab machines for a while, nothing structured, just bringing on a burn...

So I think I'm all sorted for the comp - all I need to think about is the hair/makeup. My posing instructor told me to leave my hair out, but I'd have to do something with it for the routine or it'd drive me nuts...

I will get a spray tan done on Thursday evening or Friday if I'm definitely competing. The woman that helped me with my routine knows someone with a mobile spray tanning thing and she does protan for competitors, so that's an idea. I've been building up my own fake one and it's coming out ok, so should be ok with some protan and a dream tan on the day.

Other than that, I'm counting down. The post-workout shakes have ended, I don't get any carbs and have a permanent headache. fab. Running today (why the hell I signed myself up for a 10km run one week after having been deprived of carbs for weeks on end I'll never know!!!)

Hehehe... so you're in full-on carb depletion mode now? If you're anything like me, expect today and tomorrow to be hell. :D

My thoughts went pretty much like this:

Day 1 - Oh God! This is utter shit! Why the hell am I doing this? Never again!

Day 2 - It's a good experience, but not one I'm going to repeat. Still, it'll be over soon.

Day 3 - Actually, it's not so bad after all. Baked chicken breast stuffed with mushrooms, capsicum and parsley - how classy!

Just be careful with your run. You don't want to overdo it. :)

The run was ok. did just over 7km I think (according to my running partner). Headache is settling in for the long haul now. Trying to get in as much water as I can.

I'll get some photos done tonight while I still have some sugars floating around in my bloodstream. I think I'll have the day off weights as I see the trainer in the morning...

Had the trainer this morning... *yawn*

Was quite a good training session

Did Chest circuit

3 sets

6 x 45deg DB chest press @ 14kg

12 x decline pressups

10, 8, 5 x 20deg DB chest press @ 14kg

followed by

6, 3, 4 Chins superset with

12 DB rows @ 14kg

3 x 14 seated DB row things @ 7, 10, 12kg

2 x 15 SB roll-out crunch things (getting very technical here! :pfft: )

2 x bridges on SB

Comp still up in the air, but will be taking some photos each day for the rest of the week so the trainer can see how my condition is going, so I'll post them up here.

Did my first carb depletion workout yesterday - was good. Lots of burning!

Consisted of the following exercises:

Hyperextensions

T-Bar rows @ 75

Lat pulldowns @ 60lb

Straight arm pullovers @ 30lb

Reverse flyes @ 3kg

Alternating DB curls @ 8kg

Standing calf raises @ 40lb then 20lb

All exercises were 4 sets of 15 reps, with only short rest periods in between.

I also did heaps and heaps of crunches, obliques etc...

Then 30 mins on the cross trainer.

I saw my trainer this morning. Have decided to definitely do the comp - just for experience. Did another carb depletion workout this morning and today I'm off fluids (well just sips anyway)

All the following were 3 x 15 reps

Flat power flyes @ 12kg

Reverse flyes @ 5kg

Incline flyes @ 5, 7, 10kg

Lat pulldowns (not sure what weight)

Incline pressups (25 reps)

T-Bar rows (not sure about the weight on this one either)

Side lat raises @ 5kg (I think - either 5 or 7)

DB curls (whatever I did the previous exercise at!)

Tricep rope pressdown (dunno what weight)

Only got through half of the workout in the hour, so I'll be doing another one tonight - will probably take me 2 hours!

I was supposed to be running today, but haven't been able to... so I'll do some cardio after my workout tonight.

I know I keep promising photos, but I'm having trouble with the timer on my camera and the lighting. I will have to get my flatmate to take some tonight and post them straight up...

Yeah, going for figure. Might as well! I'm not really going in to win, more for the experience, so I'd feel a bit ripped off if I only got to do quarter turns! haha.

i could never do somthing just for the experience myself. its always about winning for me
