Hey everybody! I just took a body fat analysis on a Tanita scale ('normal' reading) and it gave me a reading of 5.5% o.0!?

How accurate are these in anyone's experiences?? I know they can be off a bit, but this is damn low yes? I don't look ripped, but I've read a lot of ppl saying it overshoots bf% usually, not many accounts of underestimating..

My abs are visible barely without me flexing; I would've thought that at <8% they would be ripped like nothing! Thoughts?

Im not familar with that scale, but you are quite ripped, problem is you dont have much muscle mass, someone who is 90 kilos and at 5% will look awesome, someone at 60 kilos and 5% will not.

Yeah I agree with you Growth; more impressive is a heavy build with low bf%. That's my goal for next year definitely. I now weigh 54kg at 5'5". Hopefully I'll be able to go to 60+ with increased muscle mass; it's just that I've found (this year) that I lose fat easily but find it hard to gain mass, although I never ever thought of myself as a hardgainer cos I'm no ectomorph body type for sure!

I'm gonna prolly try creatine next year; hopefully that will make me explode or something. Problem is I don't do cardio and I eat fried foods often and yet my weight stays the same; it worries me since if I lose any more weight, 99% likely it's gonna be muscle.. and now I have an active Summer hol job too..

creatine wont make you explode.

im telling you the key right now: food.

its that simple. EAT ALL DAY. every 2 hrs, im not talking snacks either.. im talking big meals that make you feel bloated. every 2 hrs.

Well here was my typical diet while I was ''bulking'' about 1-2 months ago:

1 cup oats

4 egg white, 2 yolks

milk

1 cup rice

1 tin tuna

1 cup frozen veges

1 cup oats

2 scoops whey

milk

4 scoops BULK protein blend (PWO)

1 banana

1/2 cup oats & milk

2 cups rice

200g chicken

1 cup frozen veges

1 cup broccoli

300ml milk

1 scoop whey

20 peanuts

And I was definitely feeling the bloat with lots of protein farts..

I think I gained a bit, but the main consequence was a raised metabolism (I had to wake up in middle of night to drink milk to fulfil myself!) and now after eating back to ''normal'' I still have the habit of waking in the dead of night (tho not hungry or anything!!) and I can't get more than 7 hours sleep at 1 time now too ergh.. not good for bulking right..

But anytway I know creatine won't make me explode, but I've yet to try it and I think I've no more beginner gains to be had, so it can only do me good eh?

man, what the hell???whoever is suggestin that this fella should do cardio, mate, you want him to look more like a survivor!!!??? Bro, eat hard out!!! train heavy...shock the body...

I second that. You should definitely cut down on the cardio, eat a bit more and possibly do less reps than you are, although I'm not sure what your workout plan is like.
