Legs last night ....

weigh in 108.5kg .... a bit of retention going on I think.

I did the session with a bottle of the new purple powerade in hand. was good for energy and hydration as I haven't been diligent enough over the last 2 days.

Leg workout focus was on getting heart rate up as I find it hard to cardio after a high intensity leg session.

Warm up: 10 minutes high incline tready fast walk + 5 minute run.

Superset 1:

Reverse Lunges > Leg extensions / 4 sets - final set(s) 12reps @ 80kg Lunge + 12 reps @ 120lbs LE.

Leg Press 4 sets / Final set 8 reps at 400kg > comfortable > could have added another 50 kg but wanted to do a small cardio to finish.

Superset 2:

Concentration leg curls > Calf raises / 4 sets - final set(s) 12 reps @ 120lbs LC + 12reps @ full stack + 20 rep pulse in last 30% of contractions

Cardio: 20 minute HIIT : - high incline treadmill alternating with falt running.

Horizontal Leg raises + transverse abdominal crunches to finish.

END

Pretty knackered at the end of that session - :D

THE BACKGROUND: from the start on the journal ...

.... to cut a long story short .... have just come free of a business deal gone bad... so took 11 months off training. Current weight:

I weighed in yesterday officially 113kg .... did a light leg train and weighed in same time tonight 114.8kg. So I'm guessing my weight is going to settle in two weeks around 120 - 122kg as I'm normally much bigger and my muscle will soak up the carbs pretty quick.

Goal at this stage is to get my head right with the training and reestablish a routine. This week and next week focuses on breaking down the muscle and getting used to the pain of recovery.

More to come ....

Can safely say I have developed the habit again ... have attached the pics from 2007 when I was still into serious training and had come of a good year at that. Was deciding at that stage if I would get back into shows having been out of it for over 6.

My mental goal was to reset myself as I wasn't sure what my body was going to do after so long not training and eating unstructured / and junk!! (hopefully come close to regaining this condition as a starting point  )

this is what 112kg looked like on 6ft 3in ...

These are the relaxed ... pre-hair removal pics (also apologies for the lack of colour to skin - I am genetically impared but plan to expose myself to natural light over the next 3 weeks :shifty: ).

left to right > before pics taken June 23rd after I initially bulked to 118kg.

pics don't really show the reduction on waist line > was wearing 38 - 40 jeans - now wearing 36" with slightly more than an inch spare - ... will be in 34s by xmas.

Legs have come up good ...

nead to work on my posture (lazy shoulder)

post hair removal pic on way next 15 minutes ....

post post hair removal - with some bathroom lighting - (inspired by GASP) :pfft: ...

108kg and still going ...

............

having looked at the pics now and seen the initial changes I want to continue the drop when I get back from bali.

in 2007 I set myself a goal to get down to double figures > I had found it difficult to get under 105kg as my body start responding and holds its weight.

I'd really like to see if I can get down to 99 again - haven't made that weight since 2001 > it's another 9kg but I'm determined to meet that milestone before Chrstmas ....

So I'm pleased with where I'm at so far - its going to take a bit more work to rekindle my physique - will do it by March 2010 for sure ...

Nice progress, mate. I don't think you're that far from your 2007 pic. Although perhaps that's the benefit of bathroom lighting kicking in! Dunno why, but bathrooms always seem to have great lighting for bodybuilders.

4 kg lighter than the 07 pic > so still a ways off. the moon tan is deceiving also as I had a double coat of spray tan in the 07 shot too - so lookin a bit washed out had it not been for the bathroom lighting ..

My chest has been my most challenging body part - and I'd like to focus on developing more thickness in my upper back. This is a real challenge on my long frame - thickness is tough when your tall :(

  • 2 weeks later...

....

Holidays over :( ... but feeling really energised and keen to strat the next phase of training. I took some pics in the gym over there of a PT who had an extremely balance physique (under 70kg comtetitor) - very impressive and would have cleaned up over here for sure - (on a mates cam so will follow up over the next week or so).

Planning to enter the gym again on Monday morning (have to move house this weekend first :-s > not sure if I have gained or lost weight at this stage - doesn't feel like I have gained any but will probably balance my nutrician over the next few weeks and then decide where the next 6 months of training will go. ( I used the scale at Hammerheads in Legian and came in at 107kg > but I'm not really convinced I was that low if not for losing water due to the heat over there). Pretty much was on the ECA stack the whole time over there so never say never :)

I'm leaning towards a further drop in weight to 105kg and then re-assesing the result.

Will post up plan over the next week ...
