Oh hey dude,

Was showing this BB chick the other night the video of the CBC PL comp.

Told her when your shirt ripped bench was coming up and she got such a surprise when it just blew out!

She ended up staying the night....so cheers for that ;-)

That shirt was lucky in so many ways lol ... I take it apartment life is working out well

Update:

Trained tonight Back/delts/traps - bicep/abs 45min + walked for 45 minutes

Rested up Tuesday and Thursday but have stuck to my nutro plan 100% - have dropped to 120kg even bw tonight - will bite back a bit with some carbs going in tonight and tomorrow.

Injuries improved slightly - lower back now fixed. Shoulder fixed. Just residual tightness in neck which seems to be worse in the morning.

Comfortable enough now to slip into some reasonable weights for bbing trainng - not quite there for pling yet.

In whitianga for a few days over weekend so will be just a cardio focus and will kick back into free weights next week.

Feels good to be seeing some progress around training - real downer not being able to train 100% - but pleased with drop in bfat as arms are starting to look like road maps (vascuar as) - abs starting to take shape with deeper cuts coming into shoulders etc. Legs seperating now so may be a few weeks off a complete 6 pack now - havent had that for over 10 years  ...

Well has been a torid number of days lately - however despite some disfunction around training time etc I have managed to get some cardio in and keep a reasonably clean diet.

Last week really has been a bit of a mind f*ck but Im still functioning on lower carbs - and today really was the first time in a long time I have felt my conditioning is starting to resemble what it was way back when. (I finally have a waist line :) )

Weigh in: 118kg - has had a bit of fluctuation but my weight is holding well between 117.5 and 119.5kg as the body comp slowly turns. This last 12 months of strength training has really been good for a slow transition in recomposition.

Strength levels are still reasonably weak - but has a lot to do with my neck and what appears to be a nerve issue. (Seems to come and go but trying to work through it at the moment). - relates to the injury after the CBC as havent been 100% since then and a bit before in the lead up.

I did manage to work squats in the latest round of training which is a first since the CBC - manage 3 reps @ 180 comfortably without my neck arguing - could feel it a little so didnt push for more.

Hard to gauge the impacts of the injury when I'm running in cal def.

Feels good being lean again - has been soo long.

Hopefully I can get a rythym going and share some more in the journal incl pics soon - not in a good head space with a few things but battling on in anycase. Fortunate to have a supportive crew at the CBC - very greatful for this.

Has been a productive few days - Injury has digressed a bit. Neck now interfering with strength on bench. Very noticable tonight - failed a single @ 180kg and then just landed 170kg with a grind.

Best way to describe it is like driving a car with the handbreak on.

Body weight 118.5kg > BFat continues to get leaner - starting to get veins in legs - can see definate seperation now and they are looking more balanced now my waist has come in. / arms are like road maps with a pump. Abs nearly all the way through. boys have me estimated 12% - and feels pretty much like that.

Will be a bit of dissruption ths week perhaps. will aim for 3 more resistance session (Squats only session /Back n Shoulders / Legs volume training) + 4 cardio sessions. Is a challenge as I'm out on the street @ 8.30pm some nights but I'm not letting be an excuse.

Booked for Osteo on Thursday - going to check my alignment and try a few thng on my neck to free up the nerve. Watch this space.

..........

Has been quite an exciting week ... lots going on ... and lots coming up

Weigh in 117kg this morning :)

Had my second Osteo appointment this morning went pretty good. Amazing what they can do - however I think his ego bruised a little as hasn't been able to pop one of the vertibrae in my upper back.

Have had the neck done twice now - his assesment is a range of 3 concerns all influencing each other - neck is still tight but eyesight is back to normal.

Have descided to refrain from squats and deads just until the treatments are done - last one on Thursday.

Hit a snag tonight - after a good train with the CBC crew I went home and bang - hit with a UTI. Havent had much water today at all as real busy - just a mild one but will hopefully pass quickly with anti biotics. Should lose some more water weight bonus! :pfft:

Training tonight:

d/b flat bench 5 sets / final set 8 reps at 50kg

Incl d/b press 4 sets super/set with Flyes / final set 6 reps @ 50kg + 10 reps @ 25kg on flyes.

Dips and leg raises to finish > all done in 40 minutes.

Had planned to cardio but went to doc instead.

....

Nutro:

10 egg white 2 yolks - hand full of almonds

95g tin Chicken in mayo

180g tin Salmon + apple

2 chicken wraps (200g chicken)+ a large Mocha 3 extra shots

Small quiche + 1 carrot + hand full almonds

Post training shake - whey only no carbs

250g Chicken + cup beans and small potato in green curry.

end

Feeling pretty good / aside nervous feeling from peeing lol.

Pendulum swings ... weigh in this morning 115.3kg. (did it 3 times to be sure lol) Now only 3 kgs off my lightest in over 4 years

Injury update:

Had my neck manipulated a 3rd time last week > initially felt not too bad but then last few days have been hell with the left hand side seizing up. Strated to free up a bit tonight though so I'm hoping it is about 85-90% by tomorrow night.

I trained a lite back session out of frustration on Sunday night -

close grip lat pulldown 4 sets / last set 12 reps stack

Superset 1: 4 sets

Dead lifts 8 reps @ 100kg with ...

bent over lat raises / 15 reps 20lb d/b

Superset 2: 3 sets

Narrow grip chins 6-8 reps bodyweight

Straight Deadlifts 140kg for 8 reps

Upright row 30kg 15 reps ea

Superset 3: 3 sets

ezi Bar Curl 30/40/40kg x 15 reps

d/b shrugs 30kg d/b x 15 reps

Leg raises x 15 (vertical)

Neck arches x 15 bodyweight

END

Nutro is making the difference - havent had to go near keto yet as dropping slowly but surely. Has been a good body recomp over the last 12 months (down 15kg now over that time)

Still a ways to go - target and pics at 110kg (hopefully next 4 weeks).

:D

That back's looking pretty thick bro, so is it 12 weeks till you jump on stage??

tentative mate - not sure with launching CAPO/work commitments etc if I'll be 100% - but optimistically I want to get one done this year as a way of launching into next year. My skin is a lot looser now hense the slow descrete drop in Bfat - will need to condition a couple of times over the next 12 months to make it right.

I'm probably going to bench only (RAW) at the CAPO comp in Sept and then will be doing the CAPO interstate deadlift comp on the first of December. Based on where I'll be from a BBing perspective I'll potentially be sitting around 108kg body weight which puts me in the 100-110kg class (little bit more competitive.

My goal next year will be to be NZs 2nd Iron Triathlete after Nate  :P ... (Compete Bodybuilding, Powerlifting and Strongman all in the same year) :)

Nice!

Thanks :)
