Hi Everyone!

Well i have just joined and basically i need as much help and advice as possible. i have a pageant coming up and after meeting the competition i need to look like the girl on this months Fitness Life magazine! :-)

I have a small frame anyway but have no tone or definition! i started body for life diet today which also consists of an exercise program. i am basically repeating the below six days a week:

Breakfast: egg white scramble on wholemeal toast

Snack: one slice wholemeal bread, half can tuna

Gym: 1-1.25hr (45min cardio, 20-30min weights and exercises)

Lunch: Protein shake

Snack: one slice wholemeal bread, half can tuna

Dinner: chicken and vegies

i am going to do this over the next 12 weeks, but if anyone thinks this is wrong or i could do better i would LOVE to hear from you!

would also love any tips or exercise to getting flat toned stomach!

Hope to hear from you soon!!! :-)

Hi there :D

I have also started BFL today, although it sounds as though you are mainly following the eating plan and not so much the exercise plan? Would that be right?

My advice re your diet is that I think you will get very bored very quickly with it, if you are eating exactly the same thing 6 days a week. How long before your pageant?

Your lunch doesn't look very satisfying to me - if you're following bfl then they say have 1 carb and 1 protein together with some veges. Also how about some brown rice or something for dinner?

And it looks like that's bread in 3 meals you've planned, how about kumara or rice or something instead?

Theres heaps of great info on here, its just a matter of sifting through the posts. Also the bfl website is very useful

Good luck! :D

i have exactly 3 months till the comp! i think i used bread as it is easy to grab in the mornings on the way to work! maybe i will do a carb based lunch with the powder too?

I have been doing 45mins of cardio and about 25 of weights and exercises?

i just dont know what to do interms of getting a flat tummy and tighter thighs and gluts!

What are you doing bfl for??

i am doing bfl but also for my own wellbeing and fitness. I just want to have a really toned ripped body!

Well Ive entered the competition, so of course it would be good to win! But the main motivation was a decrease in body fat % and an increase in muscle and definition. I like to have a goal and work hard towards it.

Also to fit the clothes Ive stored away from a couple of years ago :pfft:

Good idea supplementing the bread with something else and yes I would recommend a carb for lunch, to me a protein shake isnt a meal! But see what the others on here have to say as they are the ones that have been doing it for a long time. have a look at this content.php?id=164

One thing that I did notice is that you do your cardio first, then weights.

If it's possible, you might wish to consider swapping that around - doing the weights while the muscles are fresh, then doing the cardio. That way, the muscle tone will improve faster than doing weights when the muscles are tired.
