BULKING

Recommended Posts

Hey Guys,

was just wondering about bulking... vs slower steady gains...

Ive always been trying for the slow and steady sustainable gains but maybe theres more real world success with bulking, Im just pondering that when bulking is there more muscle fascia stretching involved and possibly the body becoming accustomed to hold all that extra LBM (which wouldnt usually tend to happen with the slow steady approach)

you could also throw the theory in that the longer youre on AAS while bulking that this also seems to get the body adapted to holding and keeping that extra weight.

Sure after your bulking and or cycle you'll loose a certain percentage but in the long run perhaps bulking is more affective..?

what do you guys think?

Great article!

"Before bed is also very important. You will be going 8 hours without protein so you will want a slow digesting protein, I usually drink 4 glasses of milk because it is rich in casein (a slow digesting protein) The carbs in the milk will spare the protein while you sleep. Even though milk says all the carbs are sugar, milk sugar digests slowly, slower than oatmeal actually, so they will stay with you throughout the night."

4 glassess of milk before bed, and he doesn't get up to pee?

Thanks for that, but I still wanna know the science of it, what happens physiologically that makes bulking more effective? if it is more effective..

muscle fascia stretching?

becoming more accustomed to holding that extra weight?

other reasons?

I'm not a scientist...no really I'm not - but I believe you're more anabolic when you have excess carbs, and fats, and hold water. Your body is in a greater positive-nitrogen state.

You can lift more and thus stress muscle greater when you have muscle and fat (bulk) and jacked up on carbs than you can with lean muscle and 'just enough' carbs.

You can avoid catabolism longer by having excess carbs in your system (stored in muscle and liver)

Muscle fascia stretching? Nah surely not look at how much fat is on the arms of a guy 6% and 16% and they'll be close to identical (exaggerated I know), but the difference is minimal. I'm over15% bf and the fat/skin around my arms is still very thin so nothing extra there. They're bigger because of my points above, anabolic, excess carbs, holding water, workouts are heavier due to more bulk and power.

Holding extra weight is interesting and I've got too much logic floating around my head on this to get it down on the forum and make a clear point...because there is no clear point.

A bulker can gain rapidly but can also lose rapidly if weight isn't maintained for a period of time. He's (she's) bloated up and full beyond requirements and so will lose size the moment he stops (eating large, training large, or gets sick). A lean gainer already eats minimal required to maintain steady growth but he can also get sick, stop training etc and lose size.

I really think holding size is a mute point as far as gains go, it's up tot he person in question what they do with their gain once they have it in the bag...and for bulkers that gain will be greater than a lean-gainer when it comes down to muscle mass gained given everything else is equal.
