Ok well this is the first time i've done a journal so i'm not sure what to put in it but here goes.

Made it to the gym today - for cardio, back and abs.

Still trying to get my cardio up - I've got a goldfish's attention span for cardio

Recent shoulder injury is still causing some big issues with keeping proper form - If anyone has ever had their supraspinatus get caught between the top of the hummerous and the joint - can you please let me know how long it took with physio and babying to heal??

Plan to get up early and tackle bis and tris tomorrow! YAY

I've not taken pics yet - my buddy is commin next week to do that for me hopefully

I was happier with my life but lost focus on what i had been working towards- i'm not sure if i ever want to compete now but i do want to be healthier and happier with what i look like - make my outside match my inside i guess

5ft 1

198lbs about

I'll have a pic from last year up ..... tomorrow once i get time to figure this site out LOL

Had a GRRREAT work out today - felt awesome lol so did the hottub after LOL

today was Bis - slow curls with acending and decending wt

and Tris - hmm not sure what the name of the move is - 8lbs - laying on my back on a bench - DB in R hand from L side to straigh above me - LOL there is no better way for me to discribe that move - then rope pull downs and flat bar push downs - min 15 each move

- and legs - Inclined leg press min 25- 30 reps - walking lungs - reverse leg curls with the wt between my feet SLOWLY curling to butt

ANY THOUGHTS on how to improve?

Now i start with cardio *as per the trainer i used to date*

i've heard different thoughts on this - what's the best for someone startin out?

Cardio with the trainer aye? Ooooh errrrrrrrrrrrrr :pfft: What days/times do you have to fit in cardio? 45mins upon rising on an empty stomach is always suggested, when cutting you would do this 3-5 times weekly in conjuction with a good healthy eating plan and fitting in your weight sessions where you can. I have some free weights at home for when I miss a w/o. You would be amazed at what you can do at home with just a few weights and a coffee table. Piece of cardio equipment in front of the telly is good too, can grunt and sweat along watching your favourite show.

 I usually do the wake then gym thing - i have a protein shake After the gym then come home for some oatmeal

For cardio i've been doing walking/running *athletically enduced asthma so i'm working up to a good run - and the bike

I am working my way up to 60 min - right now i'm at 30

I figured that i'm going to go to the gym on my days off work and i'm going to get free wts for home - and we live in a nice area so i can go for walks/runs at home

 Now i have no excuses - you guys will keep me honest! lol

I brought a journal to the gym today too to keep track of my work out - i think it really helped to keep me focused on my work out and what i needed to do.

  Looking forward to monday when i'm off and i can go again!

 YAY went to the gym after nights today - BOO was really tired - had a yogurt before going - still burnt out quick

didn't do hard cord cardio like i usually would - cuz i'm going in the afternoon with friends - but did about 20 min of light cardio to warm up - did:

Incline press - 30 reps 75lbs(it's 45 for the machine on it's own right?) 4sets

Walking lunges - 3sets of 20

Reverse leg curls with Wt between my feet - 8lbs 15 reps X 3 sets

Then did back:

Close grip pull downs - 20reps - 55 lbs X4sets

Wide grip lat pull downs - " "" "" ""

Seated rows - 20 resps - 55lbs -X4 sets

Abs crunches on swiss ball- shorter than normal - 3 sets 25 - still workin on those LOL

then strethes

Now i'll be doing cardio with the girls this afternoon and given that i only have 2 days to go to the gym (today and tomorrow) till Friday - what should i work this afternoon (planned on doing wts after they leave - they aren't ready to do the wts yet  )

so let me know what i can improve folks!

Great to see the journal

One thought - while the goal seems reasonable (22kg in 20 weeks, around 1kg per week, is a safe, perfectly achievable rate of weight loss), don't go by numbers alone. As you tone and build lean muscle (which is heavier than bodyfat), you'll look heaps better but the scales will send you into orbit !

Oh, and maybe I misread the comment about "now I start with cardio" - but cardio before weights is about the worst combination - if you're going to do the two together, do the weights first... or do them at separate times.

Good luck!

thanks GR :)

Teamfatboy - ya i have been doing cardio first for a while - only because it was what my trainer had told me to do - but i'm willing to try new things - so i may switch it up and see how it goes

thanks for the thought

TFB is right, i started going hard at the gym and was worried when i wasn't losing ANY weight.. untill i got my body fat percentage tested and found out i'd lost quite a lot 8)

Also doing cardio after weights means you have more energy for weights
