Drinking oats

I have just started doing this. What I do is measure out 200gms of oats and then grind them into a powder using a coffee grinder. Then I tip them into my water bottle and eat/drink them for breakfast.

Is this the same nutrionally as cooking them and eating them? :-s

I ask because I struggle to eat 100gms of cooked oats but this way is heaps easier. 8)

Thats sounds good and is all clever but already patented by MuscleTech

It is called Nano-Oats, if you freeze it then it is Cryogenic nano Oats

i wonder if the GI increases if you grind it down???

i would imagine that it does

your massively increasing the surface area of the oat by grinding it into dust, making it faster to digest

but then its a soluble fiber rather than insoluble which might mean that its irrevelvent?

dunno

grinding is processing...processing typically = bad

Into the blender.....80g Oats, 2 Scoops Whey, Pineapple, 10g Glutamine, 5g Creatine, 55gm Waixy Maze - Breakfast of Champions IMO

No, what I've been having most morning for brekky is the breakfast of champions!

Into the blender --- One banana, 1 cup milk, ice cream as desired, 50g oats, 15g Linseeds, 2 scoops whey and a tray of ice cubes. It's REALLY nice! Banana Smoothie mmmmm

good roughage, but no - I much prefer to cook mine, oh that fluffy goodness I lookforward to them every morning, pre training and post training. Cold or hot, actually, cooking like a pancake (eggwhites and grinded up quick oats and a touch of cinnamon) is rather nice too.

Sorry I digress from the topic

Tried this for the first time today. And this might just be me, but I felt very hot and I was sweaty about an hour afterward. What's going on there?

Were you exercising? :-s

Sorry, could help myself. Um, I don't know what would be going on there. That's not the usual response to eating oats.
