Performance Routine

Bit of an odd question. I've got to prepare my first routine ever and I'm a bit lost.

I've got the music at least, which I think is funny and light hearted enough to entertain people. How do you other bodybuilders work the poses into your routines but keep them interesting and fun?

Start with an idea for your intro to catch audience attention (as unless its absolutely amazing routine, they'll only remember the very start and end and forget the in between....esp. after seeing heaps of the things in a row can get very boring).

Put in the compulsory poses in the midddle as not all will see the prejudging, plus throw in a few others from a few books and mags that will SUIT your physique. Work on your flow between the poses to make it interesting.

Big ending to finish.

ps BIG HINT: I would pose in time to the music and not just flow through yur poses willy nilly but really hit the timing on key parts in your song. Also if you have never posed before I would get the hlp o an expert who knows what theyre talking about and watch alot of vids where you can see what does and doesnt work

Thanks a lot ds. I've got an idea to start now. the music is the theme song for a guy called Shawn Michaels ( a pro wrestler ) and is very funny. Luckily its also very simple and easy to keep in time to. Its all about confidence an attitude so I think I'll just go out there and try and pretend that none of the other compeitiors even exist and everybody is here to see me. Obviously not true, but it will hopefully give me the confidence to act like a muppet and get some smiles and laughs from the crowd.

If anybody is interested, you can hear the song on youtube. Search "shawn michaels titantron." Trust me, I'm sure you'l enjoy it, nd I'd guess there might be others out there who think It'd be great to go with their routine.

he's bang on, great advice! IMO , some of those wrestler poses will not suit ur physique mate, so be sure to practice them in front of a mirror to make sure u are doing urself justice(showing maximum definition/and maximum mass) with the poses u perform.

:D
