I disagree, I think if you read the build up because of his drugs for the kidney, he cant cut up as normal, I think its brilliant he did it with all his challenges and I think he looks great from the pics

I think its a little more than subcutaneous fluid that he needed to address.

Good on him, I think he looks good...although he would'nt be the first BBer to have a farked kiddney or two!

Compare his condition to that of Don Long or Flex during there post transplant shows, considering that they are experienced pro's against this first timer. I think he is comparible. We could only speculate as to what the ramifications of his kidney issue are on his dieting.

As to holding him back?

the client makes the choice not the trainer, and i suspect the money in France and the disire to compete at least once, the personal satisfaction outway the big splash he might make in winning a plastic trophy in the world of NZ BB, who's to say he wants to make a big deal of bodybuilding, might just be a one off, like people who run one marathon to say they did it.

Well done Joe and Jonah.

Agree , good on him for giving it a go but he is fat end of story. :)

It is harsh coments like this that put good people off the sport.

Jonah loves the sport and was great to every competitor there. There is a first time for everything and it wont be the last we see of him on stage. having said that the amount of reporters, photographers and tv cameras back stage is something you do not see at bodybuilding shows in NZ and it is definately something the sport needs, no matter what any one says there is no one on this forum that can bring more good publicity to bodybuilding in this country than Jonah.

Both Jonah and his mixed pairs partner Tracey(having survived cancer) are both inspirations to others.

classical tall poppy syndrome, he is one of the worlds greatest rugby legends, he is thankful to be alive and one of the most humble people you could meet. It amazes me that people is this country always like to put others down to make themselves feel better. Alot do this on this site too, yet dont have the balls to post a pic of themselves up for others to make comment or judge.

jonah was a monstar on stage, pretty good for a 1st timer, his speach summed it all up, keep up all the hard work and would be massive to see him compete again, he was up against some lean machines, gald you guys have the bulls to get on the stage, im too shy and wont be on show untill im ripped like some of the guys last night.

Very well put Growning concern I was thinking yesterday I wish there was covergare of the NZFBB Wellington champs on TV because of Jonah competing in the show. Which would have been very cool to watch on TV.Jonah and his mixed pair pairs partner are both good role models . I have meet Jonah on one of my trips to Wellington and I thought that was very cool to meet one of the worlds greatest rugby legends and I give Jonah two tumbs up for stepping up on stage and giving it a good go

Yep, a great show... there was a lot of quality in the men's classes, hats off to Dan Wagstaff, to Ross, to Attul (spelling?) and the others. The women's classes were smaller - where'd they all go? but the overall physique winner really deserved it. BigMD's routine had the audience rocking too

With inspirational speeches by both Mike and Jonah, although both showed clearly just how bloody hard they'd been working, it's probably more of a shame that the TV-watching public won't see precisely how much hard work goes into delivering a result like that!.
