Yes all his family are around 5' so the story goes he was put on gh at an early stage in puberty. Thinkin he might have shortly followed that up with AAS cause the gh did not seem to be that helpful. 13yrs then 17yrs below

If you know all this why did you say that roids made him short?

"Its reputed that Lee Priest started at age 14 years & that may well have impacted on his overall height,"

My point was that if he started AAS in his early teens, it may have stunted what linear growth he might have achieved naturally. However, at 5'4" he has made some progress on the family measurements. Regardless, he had a stunning height/ lean muscle mass ratio, with muscle bellies & proportion that most bigger guys would die for. So WTF!

Strange then that the IOC and almost any sporting body would consider this natural and allow the person to compete. When have I ever justified guys using gear to so called "normal" to high levels and calling themselves natural still - if they aren't producing test or GH due to some genetic disorder or endochrine problem not just because they have screwed themselves on the sauce then I don't have any issues with them using nominal doses to allow them to acheive normal levels.

Have you ever been tested for low natural levels of testostorone? and if so would you consider using Steroids to increse your levels to normal to high range? and if so would you still call your self natural?

I've had everything tested several times in the past and everything was in the normal ranges. If I had a deficiency in something or an endochrine problem and it was effecting my health then I would look at HRT or medical intervention to return my levels to normal. I would still consider this natural as it would be in the normal range of production. I'm not sure why you are stuck on this tangent. This is only for people who would keep their levels within the normal range for their age and for people with an underlying health issue causing the necessity for intervention. I'm not talking about guys that have blown their test production because of sauce abuse, nor am I talking about guys that go to "mens clinics" and get prescribed gear or HRT by dodgy doctors when they don't really need it, who would have been better off just sorting their diet and training regularly.

Interesting...

So you would you not recomend insulin use to people who have blown their natural production through sugar abuse?

Doctors shouldnt worry why (most conditions are self inflicted to some extent)

I don't understand your question, we're talking bodybuilders/athletes and gear. Not donut eating lard arses. Where did I say type 2 diabetics shouldn't use insulin?

Type II diabetics should NOT take insulin, Type I diabetics should.

Im sure that was just a typo though

Well as has been said if you need hormones from an injection thats not natural, but unless its a supraphysiological dose as in way more than even a genetic beast of a man can produce naturally then its not going to have major effects like supraphysiological doses would.

dont' worry about sauce or insulin, a couple of scoops of grape cellmass down the hatch will do the trick :)

I remember reading an article by lee priest where he talked about steroid use. He claimed he had always responded quickly to aas and needed only very small amounts compared to most other pros.

Depends what he means by "small amounts".

Type II diabetics should NOT take insulin, Type I diabetics should.

Unless I've got my facts completely wrong I was always under the impression that some TypeII's use insulin.

There are three types of diabetes:

Type 1

People who do not make any insulin (or very little) have Type 1 diabetes. Because the immune system destroys the pancreas they have stopped making insulin, and their body is unable to use glucose for energy. They tend to lose weight very quickly because their body is actually being starved. Their health rapidly deteriorates and they would die if insulin were not given.

They therefore require insulin by injection plus healthy eating to stay alive and maintain good health.

Type 2

People with Type 2 diabetes are still making insulin but the production is sluggish or their body is resistant to insulin. Becoming overweight is almost always the cause of the body becoming resistant to insulin and can trigger Type 2 diabetes, even in young people. Type 2 diabetes can be treated with weight loss and regular physical activity. Medication in the form of tablets is often required to reduce the resistance to insulin or to stimulate the pancreas to make more insulin. Type 2 diabetes is a progressive condition in that the pancreas continues to get more sluggish over time. People with Type 2 diabetes may eventually require insulin.

Diabetes of pregnancy (gestational diabetes)

Gestational diabetes is when a pregnant woman has high levels of glucose in her blood. High blood glucose is caused because the mother cannot produce enough insulin (a pregnant woman's insulin needs are two to three times that of someone who is not pregnant).
