I find blackmailing myself works when I don't wanna go to the gym, I promise myself something like a magazine or a nice coffee or if I go to the gym all scheduled times this week I'll treat myself to something at the weekend. It has motivated me many a time! I have to do the same with food, if I REALLY fancy something I tell myself I can have it but then that's my cheat meal for that week which usually makes me not eat it as I usually want to save something REALLY nice for my cheat meal!

Keep going you will get there!!

Update

Been meaning to write all weekend but I just didn’t seem to have the mental energy or time to apply myself to it – I was too busy exercising, baking or chilling out!

Weigh in on Saturday – 1.5kg deficit from the week before. Yahoo! But still doesn’t feel like enough. Less than 4 weeks to Easter so I must keep my eye on the prize (meal at a Buffet Restaurant at the Central Coast Leagues Club – yum!)...

Diet (as from Wednesday) is as follows at the moment (well for weekdays anyhow, on weekends I’m a little less restricted as I am more active):

Meal 1 – 4 Egg Whites

Meal 2 – Protein Shake

Meal 3 – Tuna and salad

Meal 4 – Protein Shake

Meal 5 – Steak/Kangaroo/Chicken and steamed vegetables

Very tight diet but it’s working for me at the moment.

Diet was shocking on Monday! Here is what I consumed...

Meal 1 - 4 egg whites

Meal 2 - Protein Shake

Meal 3 - Protein Shake

Meal 4 - Protein Shake

Copious amounts of peppermint tea and water.

I just don't have an appetite at the moment.

25 minutes Spin Bike before work. Trained Chest and Abs at the gym in my lunchbreak. 50 minutes Spin Bike after work.

Hopefully the rest of today will be better foodwise. Slept in this morning and missed my cardio. It's so goddamn dark in the mornings now. I leave home when it's dark and it's very nearly dark when I get home from work.

Have you tried the kangaroo sausages over there??

I had them last week and they are very nice. 30g of protein and only 1.5g of fat, the carbs were under 10g as well.

As for the weight loss I am sure it will move. Things don't happen out in the big wide world the way things happen on shows like 'the biggest loser'. It just takes time and good effort gets good results.

Just keep hacking away at it 500grms at a time.

Id die if I attempted your diet on Monday !

Keep those whole foods coming...

oh and 6tablets of fish oil which I was taking a day ... is actually beneficial to fat loss.. at least everything Ive read... are you supplementing any fats at all ?

you really should be getting some in apart from the incidental fats in the rest of the food.....

We all have days like that

Are you drinking plenty of water?

You could try to have the protein shakes as your in between meals and then add a final one in as the last thing you have before bed.

How is the weight going?

Hey .... diet is looking good.. I missed my cardio too :(

Dont forget some simple things which are essential on the low calorie diets..

vitamin c, multivitamine, fibre, and budget allowing glutamine as well...

BTW Ive been reading more on fats.. Im convinced you could do with 3 - 6 tabs of fish oil a day as well.. it'll speed up the burn up process...

start posting your weights and excercises.... remember, every time you get in there you want to be making progress in reps or weight increases.. or trying your very darn best to !

Wednesday

Food

Meal 1 - 4 Egg Whites

Meal 2 - Tuna and Salad (1 hour before work out)

Meal 3 - Protein Shake (this is immediately after work out)

Meal 4 - Protein Shake

Meal 5 - Kangaroo (absolutely delicious), vegetables

Exercise

Back and abs at gym in my lunchbreak

60 minutes Spin Bike at 9pm at night.

Still feel fat and very unattractive. I wonder if I'll ever be happy with my weight. I remember being happy when I was my competition weight, but i know how hard that is to acheive and maintain. On another note, my breasts have shrunk!!! I am not happy about that. I wish I could lose weight from every other part of my body but not that area. Having small breasts only makes my stomach look fatter! :S

When I did my first competition back in 2005 I was taking 6 Flaxseed oil tablets a day and my trainer at the time berated me for this. She advised that I should only be taking the recommended dosage which was 2-3 tablets per day. I haven't taken Flaxseed oil since I've lived in NZ. I should start taking my Centrum Multi-Vitamin again I think (great, more tablets to remember to take LOL!)

My Dad is really into the health product side of things as he's a diabetic and has been trying to get his body to a state where he can reduce his insulin. We had a discussion a couple of weeks ago in regards to taken cinnamon tablets and he did tell me he ordered another product that will assist him in stabilising his glucose levels or something like that. I will speak with him and see what he thinks about fish oils etc. I've recently converted my Dad to protein powder, so it would only be fair that he converts me to one of his supplements.

Also want to purchase some Xylitol (sugar alternative), does anyone know where I can purchase this online cheaply (and shipped to Australia)?

hehe yep thats the only thing when you start to loose fat it goes first from your face and boobs, at least you know you are burning fat. Do big heavy chest w/o's and lots of incline stuff, pecs look just as good boobs and you have them all year around

Hey I'm not the smartest cookie, and don't know your trainer but that is ABSOLUTE bullshit that you shouldnt take more than the reccomendation of Flax seed oil.

Tell me one thing, how can the same amount of flax seed oil be enough for an active 18 year old male, a pregnant 40 year old female, a professional 35 year old body builder and a 60year old retired female?

IT cant!

Its merely an average.

Check out pub med, web md and other research sites.

I have literally gone through 100s of articles on the health benefits of fats,

When I was powerlifting, to keep my joints sweet I was on 2 tablespoons of flax seed oil = that is nearly 45ml.

My cholestrol suprisingly went down and I had no issues.

I know others who maintain 1 - 2 tablespoons all year around.

Check with the other girls here too.

I hate it when personal trainers come up with crap like that.

Granted I dont have the body to preach, but after all the research Ive read if anything, a little over the reccomended dose is actually better for active bbérs etc.

I'm with Varven on this one - that PT's advice was useless.

Each of us finds our own way to a diet that works for us...I'm actually (I believe, and skinfolds are proving) gaining muscle/ burning fat on a 500cal/day below 'normal' diet, but still feeling well nourished, simply because I've adjusted the protein-carbs-fat mix to what my body needs - and my cholesterol's at the bottom end of the normal range despite 10 caps of flaxseed oil a day, every day (for a 100kg guy).

With the right help - and the hardest commodity of all, patience - you WILL get there. You've competed before - you already have the advantage of knowing you can do it.

If it helps you to avoid the negative thoughts, don't think about what you look like right now, focus on what you want to look like. Read Android's journal for Kai Greene's statements on positive thinking.

And keep talking to us - we're all in the same boat to a greater or lesser extent!
