First week of polytech done and dusted

Actually having to FIND time to go to the gym now which has me a little worried but I guess that's all about time management eh emzies

Have had to think over some new approaches because of this

I've decided to focus my attention more on endurance and speed rather than muscle mass this time round.

Workout 1: Full body circuit

Workout 2: Lower body weights session

Workout 3: Upper body weights session

Workout 4: Lower body circuit

On average i'm doing about 3 hours of cardio a week too

P.S. I fit in my "skinny" shorts now

Hey good to hear you've started your nursing training. Check out trademe for text books or 3rd year notice boards at uni for people about to finish wanting to flick theirs. Though you probably already know this :) I've got some midwifery texts that I'm happy to loan when you do your obstetrics component...but that's a wee way down the track :).

Thanks :)

Textbooks are so stupid, they update the edition every year just to make money when the edition before has exactly the same stuff in it but on different pages!!

Totally getcha, I don't even bother. I usually borrow them on and off for the semester and get by pretty well.

Hello world!

Was keeping up with training until I hurt my sacroilliac joint.. so am getting physio for that at the moment.

Just been sticking with upper body split of Chest/Arms and Back/Shoulders and adding in some lunges, leg extensions and seated leg curls. Can't do squats or any lower back exercises apart from the ones physio have given me.

Cardio on the bike is good though

K bye

*clears out tumble weeds and an old protein shake that has gone mouldy*

AHEM!!

Training has been going pretty good as of late since the sacroilliac joint has stopped flaring, i'm still a little unstable on my right side though.. think i'll start doing single sided exercises to stop this.

Have started a program of 12/10/8/6, all i can say is owie

Weekly program is looking like this

Monday: intense cardio - 50 mins

Tuesday: legs, light cardio - 30 mins (fat burning zone)

Wed: intense cardio - 50 mins

Thursday: Upper body, light cardio - 30 mins

Friday: Legs, light cardio - 50 mins

Sat: sometimes rest or light cardio

Sunday: upper body, light cardio - 50 mins

Had a pretty good week last week

I've got a training partner now so that's increased my motivation a little bit.

Back still niggling away every now and again, squats and deads have been severly neglected because of this, but I can walk properly now

Highlight of the week: doing 50kg leg extensions when my TP couldn't (TP is a dude)
