Bro, load up on carbs earlier in the day.

That 2nd meal you have whey, chuck in oat in there... I found carbs in the 1st meal (post cardio) and pre workout are most beneficial, no carbs rest of the time.... oh and sugars in your post work out shake..

so you have energy for workouts, optimal recovery, and rest of th etime burn fat...

I haven't included carbs in M2 because i'm trying to reduce carb intake. I have found the M3 (lunch) carbs are ample for my workout energy. I chuck in piece of fruit with my PWO shake for sugars... Thanks for the advice if i feel im struggling with workouts i'll carb up a bit more before them.

Sunday:

Woke up at 3 am with excruciating pain in my left foot.. Had no idea why went to the A&E to find out i have GOUT!? WTF im 26.. Its a major blow as it conflicts with the bodybuilding life style majorly.. Its caused by hi protein diets :(

Been reading round the net and some people suffer from it for years and some get it once in a blue moon... Once im over this attack (they can last 48 hours or longer!) im gunna ditch red meat for a while.. Apparently whey is ok..

im bed ridden and diets average today trying heaps of low acidic fruit.

this sucks!

i know how you feel, i started getting gout at 25, but it was from too much alcohol, on top of alot of red meat. A friend of mine has had it since he was 16 so not only an old mans disease lol. His is triggered from alcohol also. Getting carried away with raw mussels would sometimes trigger it too if i've just had a drink the night before. Haven't had it in maybe 8 months now so definitely manageable.

ah well its a good excuse to give up the booze! I'll pro keep a food diary and try and identify what sets it of and eliminate it from my diet.. coz i ain't going low protein just yet... Certain foods like fish, red meat and drinking beer are meant to be the worst triggers so i'll ditch them to start with...

looks like gouts been discussed on nzbb before ( just searched)
