Thanks to the recession and intro of video conferencing to our office, my trips away have all but disappeared. Stayed in a hotel once that had an excercise bike that was definitely from someone's home circa 1979 (I'm sure we had one the same about then!!). It was just ridiculous trying to get a workout there.

I've stopped packing cross-trainers in favour of carrying a good pair of running shoes... it's almost always possible to get in a run (except in America where if you're running on the streets, it's from a stick-up, so you end up having a conversation with the law!)

Of course, running isn't compatible with bb'ing...sigh

here's a starter for ten - RGV-250, or NC-30? Two-stroke screamer, or manic V4? I'm looking for a city hack...

Hmmm yes. NC.

Hmmm no. Not the answer I was expecting.. I may have to re-educate you.

I mean, I know I'm a lard-ass, but there's nothing quite like a 250 two-stroke to get the blood boiling (says the reformed former RD350LC pilot)

Nice to see a girl with standards - dubious standards, but standards nonetheless :notworthy:

Nostalgia - it's a thing of the past

of course not in NZ

over in AU

Yep, I found a real squat rack in a hotel in Canberra - but it only had four 20kg wheels... kind of a moot point really... 'til I realised I could use the floor to do bench press 8)

But I've got a whole round of city/country changes coming up, some interruptions with work coming. Manky hotel gyms with no free weights in case the gumby retard client tries to bench his bodyweight, gets stapled, and sues the hotel for his stupidity...

Are you currently in globe trotting mode TFB? :-s

Tuesday 13 October

Chest-Shoulders

Pec Dec [warm-up 2x 15x 35kg] 30-rep dropset 56kg (10) 49 (10) 42 (10)

Incline BB Press 7x4 60, 60, 60., 65, 70, 75, and a stuttering 2,1,1 at 80 kg

can't call it a PB til I get four clean, off-the-chest reps, and a couple of those last singles had an inch or more of clearance. Where was my spotter...

Flat Flies 3x12 17 kg, 20 kg, 22 kg. Ouch...

BB Clean and press 3x15 [warm-up 2x 15x 20 kg] 25 27.5, 27.5

Seated side lat raise 3x12 (1s pause at max reach) 6 kg e/s, 7 kg, 8kg with good form

Incline Rear Delt Fly 3x12, all with a pair of 8 kg, 1s pauses

BB Shrugs 30-rep dropset 140 kg (8), 120 kg (8), 100 kg (8), 80 kg (6) and then 60 kg (20) just 'cos I had it on the bar. Forgot my straps, so the issue was running out of grip strength.. all good, grip will benefit.

nice work on the bis.. yes i agree about hotel gyms being crap..

BEST hotel gym I've ever seen is Christchurch Heritage Hotel. Equipped gym and it was huge. Although I think it was also a fitness Gym for another club or something too. Lap pool in the next room with a spa and sauna.

In saying that, Rotorua Heritage Hotel had cardio machines from the 70s and no dumbells.

OMG... I used to think I was a cyclist with a bb'ing problem (or was it a bb'er with a cycling problem?) but I did the math.. I've done more organised/ timed runs than I have bike-rides.

I'm soooo confused! confused0074.gifMaybe I should aim to do Taupo, but do deadlifts in the rest-stops? fighting0030.gif
