It's 'body building' you still have to have muscle - that’s what you are being judged on + symmetry and condition! And as far as I know you pretty much only get that from training so the hard yards still have to be done.

It's much the same as breast implants in many ways. Its surgery, so it comes down to how well your procedure went - chances are your symmetry could get completely stuffed up.

But heck to be honest I have days I think I would like implants and days when I think they'd just get in the way! Guess my only choice is to developed great pectorals muscles to out do any implants I may have to compete against! Darn ‘Boob envy’.

And lypo while technically it's the 'easy option' for loosing fat cells in certain 'problem areas' the fat has to go somewhere and will deposit in other areas where there still are fat cells if a person dose not maintain their diet. So instead of fat distributed evenly - a person may get really fat arms or 'cankles' (fat calves and ankles).

Plus during the recovery time you can't train. I don’t know about anyone else but 6 weeks + for recovery compared with 6 weeks training and cardio sounds awful I’d go crazy!

So is it cheating? As much as any other kind of surgery I guess, and if it's not breaking the rules of a federation then it is up to the judges to score on muscle development and symmetry. I’m thinking brain surgery for me though, so my mind won’t let me eat anything other than a great bodybuilding diet!

Guess I better go train chest now and do some cardio - cause I don't have the cash to spend on surgery, nor the time to recover! Must grow a great chest and shrink my butt the old fashioned way!

Many males who are overweight in their teenage years develop a certain level of gyno that just never goes.

I think its fair.

If it isn't, then neither is all the roid use etc.

ive been fat all my teenage years well around 18%bf do you think my chances of geting the fat off and holding it off are reduced?

can you explain what you mean by gyno?

If you have been fat all you're life, you are an endo morph, like me. It is just harder for us to get lean/stay lean.

I'm endo also ... to be fair it's a bit easier for us guys in some respects, although once you identify your body type it is easy to train to your specifications and adjust your nutrition to foods that will support your body type. Do some reading, see a couple of different specialists in the area to get there opinions and seek other like minded people to share their successes.... the more you know and practise/ the better you will become at maintaining your ideal bodyfat.

One great thing about being endomorphic is you tend to gain muscle faster than most ;)

Nice post Optimass...

Yes, it's true - once an endo gets to a good shape, you will need to work harder than ecto's and meso's to keep it there...but this isn't a hobby it's a lifestyle...train to your bodytype, eat to your bodytype and you'll be amazed what you can achieve.

Not sure if you are male or female, but most "fitness models" do less intense workouts than crossfit and focus specifically on creating an aesthetic look through bodybuilding and low bodyfat. Also if you look at Men's Fitness or the like, look at their abs: they get liposuction to create extra-freaky abs without being totally ripped.
