Modified GVT programme

Recommended Posts

JUst wondering people's take on this programme or similar?

http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/wotw84.htm

Im thinking of doing a variation of the first style of programme presented on the page with 4 ex superseted for 5x5 each ie 100 reps chest, back, legs and 2 ex superseted for 5x5 each ie 50 reps for smaller bodyparts; abs usual 2-3sets of 15-20 with light weights.

Have done GVT in the past but found it quite boring with 10x10 for the same ex.

Want to gain some decent mass over the next year and was originally just gonna do a heavy 5x5 prog....but to me that doesnt feel enough after training for so many years and I think I still need my volume, just a change from the usual 3-4 sets of 8-12.....

Thoughts please

You beat me to this topic DS!

I'm looking at doing GVT (10 set version) starting the week after next. I would be keen to hear members comments who have done GVT and how long they did it for. My current thinking is that I'll do a 6 week program but if that's to long/short I'd be keen to hear.

  • 2 weeks later...

ll never forget the time I did 10 x 10 for quads

smith machine squats were the exercixe

my version consisted of 10 sets of 10, 10 second rest between sets with a increase of 10kg increments between sets

Workout didnt last long, but the memory lingers

I would use it as a good plateau breaker
