NABBA Nelson Bays Champs October 3rd 2009 Blenheim.

Hey guys,

Due to a lot of interest from Blenheim regarding this year's comp Mark has decided to host the event over here. It will be held in the Marlborough Civic Theatre which is a great venue.

This is the first time this show has been done in Blenheim and we are expecting a lot of local interest, particularly from the local Airforce base who are putting in a team.

The athletic category will be well contested but we could do with some muscle monsters to spice things up for the locals.

If you haven't attended a Nelson Bays before, Mark runs a well organized comp with some good prizes.

I'm putting this out now as I know we all like to plan our year well in advance .

There is a chance there will be limited billet accommodation available for those travelling on a first in first served basis. This will be confirmed later in the year but feel free to PM me if you wish to express interest.

It would be great to get your support for the first time running of this event in Blenheim .

Just to back up Stef here, i competed in the last Nelson Bays event on october 11th 08 and it was very well run, with a full theatre at the night show. So well worth the trip.

Nelson is one of my favorite places in NZ ..... may be a really good excuse to visit. :nod:

how big's the Nelson show normally? It's nice and handy to Wellington, so I might use it as a debut comp.

I knew there would be some confusion . While its still called the Nelson Bays comp it is being held in BLENHEIM this year. Blenheim has a bigger venue and is slightly easier to get to for most people. If your coming from Wgtn a ferry trip pretty much sees you there.

As for how big the show is? Hard for me to say as I have only seen the one. last years was pretty small, just over 20 comp I think but we already have more than that interested for this year so I am hoping for a good turnout. Who knows with these things :shock:

Nope, no confusion...it was COS it was in Blenheim I was interested, I used to live there (but hopefully wouldn't run into my old mates if I waddled onto the stage down there). Plus, so many good vineyards for Sunday!
