Squats looking good brah! I think its pretty typical for there to be more knee travel once the box comes away, good thing depth was real good ooo 3 whites :nod: Key thing is to work your ankle flexibility hard. Thats why a heeled squat shoe can be more beneficial.

Hmm I'm think that a heeled shoe might be the way to go too. Sorry to hijack your journal Hayden...but Harley do you use a heeled shoe for bench too?

I havent yet just for squats, once I get a proper pair (not just old dress shoes 8) ) Ill do most of my lifting in them ala Gillies ave fashion code :lol:

The benefits I see with heeled shoe is basically based around the added ankle flexibility (thats why oly guys will wear them), For bench they alow you to bring your feet further back while maintaining heels flat. Could you bring your feet further back if you were on your toes or feet flat? Effectively this is what te Oly shoes allow you to do.

Mmm good point...might be time to invest in a pair...they are around $200 I think from get strength? but cheap compared to the amount of squat suits, belts, bench shirts etc that have found their way to our place lately :grin:

felt lethargic today, lack of sleep/1 less day recovery from deads didnt help.

took some vid of my ugly-ass squats.

first 2 clip using box, last clip no box. last clip has better depth, but more knee travel..

Hey brother great squatting man :clap: :clap: 50/50 first squat but second and third bloody awesome brother.

Your technique is getting better man good work, as for knees I too am trying to manage this one, we really have too focus on pushing back instead of dropping down especially when hitting that half way point coming down, but like the others said maybe its more hamstrings stretches and more work around ankle flexibility that could help us more to prevent this from happening if we can master this it will prevent knees from moving forward. :clap:

I think the gs ones have abit much of a heel. THese ones are quite popular

todays eats:

midday 250g rice,250g lean mince,30g PB, satay sauce, 2xbananas

postworkout - 50g whey,75g dex

4.15 - 500g rice, 30g PB,150g mince, glass of milk

6.00 - 500g yogurt,banana

7.00 - 180g tuna, 300g cottage cheese,mayo for flava.
