A 200kg bench! f*ck yeah

Just went up the plates 1pps each set and did 4pps for 2 reps no spotter around. Then I spent 5 minutes looking at the 10kg plates, looking at my 4pps, and thinking if I'm gonna do 200kg I have to do a rep without fail or don't bother trying.

Asked mate Rueben to spot me he was training Peachy at the time and gave it a crack. He lifted it for me, threw some encouragement or abuse at me I can't remember which, and I did a touch and go rep. No sticking point anywhere, no injury, he didn't touch the bar the entire time.

And Peachy....well sorry Nate she was mesmerised mate, I'd be careful there ;-)

Haha, sorry joking cos I'm totally stoked that I even tried it, let alone nailed it. No ammonia snorting just 2 scoops of Jack3d pre-workout to fire me up.

After that effort I felt lost...didn't know what else to do in the gym, what follows a workout like that?

I ended up doing some cable tricep pushdowns LOL, just the stack for 4 15-20 rep sets.

Then went back and did some incline benches worked up to 3pps and did a 2 rep set. Could feel my arms had that tired feeling and this week is supposed to be taking it easy so I finished up right there.

Wed will do Squat technique that's my only concern now...depth. Reckon I'll do 3pps squats as far into the hole as I can go, hold it, and grind my way out. This should give me the feeling of depth I need on my first Squat of the day.

Bring on the PL comp, I'm ready.

200kg Raw is going to be good to see bro - I think your going to do extremely well. My Raw only sitting at 180kg clean at the moment - may be a dirty 190kg but its hard to guage how it comes together on the day. like TWL said your gains have been awesome - looking forward to seeing you hit the podium. :nod:

I think some of the PL guys should give you a deload plan. Opti? Steak? Don't go to hard the rest of the week. You know you're ready, just save it for the day.

Correct mate - just warm ups and stretch if anything - I'm still going to cardio twice and some light lifts on wed but only so I can stretch and heal in time for the event. A few of the boys started a deload yesterday ...

200 touch and go is a bit less than a pause but it's getting close. :lol:

A deload + game day magic (adrenaline + ammonia :lol: ) could turn a touch and go into a pause :wink: Possibly make for a very exciting 3rd attempt, look forward to seeing how you go. All the best for Saturday big guy :)

Today did nothing.

I had a Back massage concentrating on the erectors which were as tight as a drum she said.

I asked if I should go Friday before the comp and was told no, go after the comp. relaxing the muscle a day before isn't good for strength....dunno but will do as I'm told lol

Ok I been walking and eating the same and am down to 116kg. I stop walking and tomorrow I start eating everything. This should get me on the scales just under 120kg but full, and tight, and carbed up to the max. If I hadn't dropped a few kg I'd have weighed over 120 or not been full and tight...I dunno I'm just thinking like a BBer here have no idea if PL peeps eat going into a comp or not

Unlesss my tongue is hanging out its ok to show :-) nice deadlift shot mate.

Fell asleep at 8:30 physically and mentally drained after a 14hr day, now wide awake lol

Awesome time, best ever beats any other event I've participated in to date.

Got my planned 670 total from 240 squat, 180 bench, and 250 deadlift.

Next time I won't jump 20kg over a known lift lol. Had done 240kg squats for 2-3 reps so my 1RM was closer to 250 but was keen I tried 260kg and didn't come up. My first attempt got great depth and it flew up.

I learnt from that over-eagerness to add weight on the deadlift and my 2nd attempt was 250kg, an unknown weight to me but I had done 240 for 3 reps so it worked out luckily. 3rd attempt at 260 failed. I was going to open on 200kg but I saw Traps lift 240 in warmups so I tried a single and it just came up, changed my starting lift to 240 thanks to him, motivating to watch you Traps, awesome!

Happy to nail all 1st and 2nd attempts, and fail all 3rd attempts though.

Bench was mine, 1st attempt was easy 160, 180 wasn't hard, but 3rd attempt at 190 I couldn't lock out somehow I flared my elbows. I had strength to keep trying for 4-5 seconds before I gave up...technique ay.

Now, I've got the bug and want to add 20kg to all my lifts and aim for a 740 total. Better technique and a program here I come. But I'll take a month to just wind down, maintain, and drop some bodyfat too before starting.

Lots of guys were inspirational to watch, alot of the AUT crew were there and lifting heavier than me on Wilkes or whateva it is, and Danomyte...well he's deadlifting what I want next time but his squat of 310 I think was amazing to watch. Thanks Dan for turning up and giving us a great display of strength and character. Opti too, and Colm with his overhand grip wow!, fark big deadlifts from both of you guys :clap:

Awesome time, well run steak, bar-belle, pitbull, panzer, big John, and everyone else I forget to mention.

If some dude joins the forum with a Wes or Westlife username don't believe a word he says...saw him sniffing up a storm in between lifts lol :twisted:
