What are the cable pullups you do for shoulders mate?

No cable upright rows?

Back is looking thick!!!!! Be good to see how much thicker it gets with the constant heavy deads etc (no homo)

cheers mate! Yeah After the comp I'll go back to 3-5 reps which will help more than the 1-3 rep range I'm doing right now. Lots of people say I've thickened up so feedback is good from everywhere

Yeah sorry cable upright rows i'm shocking with technical gym babble...cable thingy...pull it up

:pfft:

Nice work mate and definitely climbing in terms of strength and mass!

I have been doing something similar with my own training to get my strength back up and I have to say it is paying off in terms of thickness.

How far away is the CBC?

28th of April...16 days time.

I reckon I can add 20kg to each lift by then, I'm a bodybuilder, we can do anything :pfft:

We believe we can and we aren't limited by the restrictions of reality!!!

I am looking forward to seeing some good numbers from you.

Oh the pressure! hahaha

Today's workout was Legs and man was awesome!

Squats first and I faced it away from the mirror for us and worked up 1pps doing like 10 reps, then 8, then 5 at 3pps and 4pps. Then for 5pps I put on my weight belt only and got out a 1 rep cos I felt I needed to try 6pps. I do need to feel what it's like on my Back so it's no surprise if I get that far on lift day (if...who knows).

Leg wraps and weight belt on, I walked out with it sweet as, nice and tight, 2 steps and a shuffle for the 3rd and I was set. Big breathes, hips out and went down nice and steady. started coming up and was going slightly forward so spotter got under me. I grinded it up with him under my arms and racked it.

I was stoked that I tried it and felt it tbh!

Then dropped 2 plates off and did a couple of sets of 5 reps without weight belt or leg wraps.

Next up was Box Squats and I worked up from 1pps for 10 reps, 2pps for another 10 reps, 2.5pps for 8 reps, then 3 pps for another 8 reps. Decided to try 4pps Box Squats! No shit I was a little concerned so I leg wrapped and put on the weight belt. I got out 6 reps at 4pps LOL.

Comment from guy on the Leg Press behind us was "that was savage".

Walked out feeling like I had achieved alot and proven my strength continues to rise with this kind of training. Next time it's 260kg for 1 rep I don't care how I do it.

However...PL TP walked by and said my Squats need to be lower just so I don't miss a light...damn! All good will take that on board and see what I can do I can't be that far off it looks parallel to us.

Back Day today and my Ammonia caps arrived by courier so tried them out to make sure I'm prepared for it on the day.

Stretches first on legs and lower back with roller.

Each rep is a reset of the bar on the floor, no touch and go shit and I've gone back to conventional style.

1pps, 2pps, 3pps, 4pps for 5 reps then loaded 5pps.

Crushed a capsule and sniffed it, wow good stuff!

Lifted it twice.

Had a rest and a chat with Mark Pryor about telling this weight out. Another cap and started lifting. Got 3 reps and Mark started shouting at me so got another one, then tried 5th rep and couldn't quite get it up.

Really happy to rep out and not try a single.

Then t-bar rows just loaded up 3 plates, too easy for 12 reps. 5 plates for 8 reps bit better. Then 6 plates did 2 sets of 6 reps!

Done

Cheers guys, change in training has been positive. Noticed I don't need to go to failure if I lift heavy which in turn seems to require less protein...not had the DOMS from lifting heavy.

Today was Shoulders at Auck Uni gym with Small. We lifted pretty good poundage today and the gym was full.

Seated press machine first and just worked down to the stack and did working sets on the 12-15 rep range, really needed more weight but we did another press later.

Next we did front raises with plates and I did working sets holding x2 20kg plates and 8 rep sets.

Then we did standing shoulder press machine one arm at a time. Repped out 25 with 30-35kg weight then added a 20kg and did 15 reps each side. Felt good to do high reps for a change. She took a photo of my back as I was resting against this machine and PTs were having a laugh. Might post it up if I open my laptop tonight...iPhone and JavaScript = fail.

Lastly we did side raises with cable and just light weight.

Awesome workout, saw some familiar faces from way back and good to catchup with Small who is bulking up hardout :pfft:

Cheers Big John appreciate that. Let's hope its strong on the day :-)

Today was Chest and I worked out with my old TP at K Rd Club Physical after work.

Bench first and just went up to 160kg for 5 easy reps. Did a couple of 180kg reps and that was Bench.

Moved to Smith Machine incline and went up to 3pps doing 6-8 reps. Felt good, strong, no niggles at all going on.

Finished with some cable tricep pushdowns using rope.

Done

I found this one from 7 months ago in September, I wish I had the time to do cardio AND a workout these days cos it looks much better imo...but this thing called "life" gets in the way.

Dunno how it looks I haven't really worked it hard in a while, just deadlifting and more deadlifting. Looking forward to pumping it up after the PL comp though with some lat pulldowns, rows, and shit! cheers

Today was Legs so it was Squats and Front Squats, then calf raises.

Squats started with 1pps, then jumped to 3pps for 8 reps, then 4.5pps for 2 reps. Then did 5.5pps (240kg), first sniffing an ammonia cap I gotta know what it's like for squatting b4 the comp.

I only did 3 reps which is still pretty good but I wanted to do more. Just I forgot to empty my bowels all day and kinda needed to. So it felt uncomfortable to go too hard out.

Backed off after a rest and did 3 reps at 4pps and that was Squats.

Front squats next and 1pps, then 2pps for 8 reps, then 3pps for 5 reps. It was super heavy on the shoulders but not on the squat really. Was happy with that effort and matched with last weeks 4pps box squats has really been a good solid month of strength training.

I took a vid of my form at 4pps and although my foreleg is not solid vertical throughout the movement it's better than it was. I see I really have to drop down to get parallel the leg length between hip and knee isn't short for me.

Am quietly confident/ hopeful that I can pull a 250kg squat, a 250kg deadlift, and a 170kg bench for 670 total.

But, first comp, nerves, fitness, no core work (situps once never done them since) could see me drop back to 230, 230, 160...? 620 total.

As long as it's 600 or more I will be the happiest bodybuilder at the comp :pfft:

Last heavy Back workout today.

Deadlifts, warmed up 1pps at a time 5 reps per set.

At 5pps I just did a single rep with belt on, then added 10kg each side for 240kg. I pulled 3 reps at this weight, each rep weight goes down, quick reset and up again. Loved it! Really noisy in the gym.

Next barbell rows and 1pps I stopped repping at 25 lol. 2pps and stopped at 8 reps. Added 10kg each side and did 6 reps, then 3pps for 5 reps! Loved it nice and strong.

Finished on a single 260kg rack pull from my knees. Just to feel the weight....was heavy

Abs I did some lying leg raises and ankle tapping stuff....no crunches.

Shoulders today and not a model workout for someone trying to get stronger.

Smith machine seated front press and worked up to 3pps. It was too heavy so only got 1 rep out, did that twice then 3rd set I got out 3 reps.

Tried the set weight barbells doing the same but they only go up to 45kg so after a set of 15 it seemed pointless.

Did seated press machine next and worked down to the full stack and did 3 sets of 6-8 reps.

Done. Not much I know and took less than 45 mins. Just wasn't motivated and doing Chest tomorrow so didn't want to limit that. Plan on a week of 70% workload and repping out until just before failure. Don't know what else I should be doing in final week...core work? resting? eating? Sleeping?

Dropped 3kg these last few days with morning walks. Just gotta come in under 120kg instead of just over so I kept food the same and just added 30min wander around the streets in the AM.

Brought some hard soles shoes and deadlifts in them yesterday...that's about it really
