Legs feel worked, slight DOMS coming through but not too bad.

Today was Back.

I didn't feel like doing heavy deadlifts so instead did some basic back exercises that I hadn't done last time.

Started with seated cable rows and worked down to 2/3 stack and 3 working sets, nothing to failure. No failure for anything actually I don't think it would help at the mo.

Lat pulldowns next and did same thing same weight on the stack for this one.

Bentover barbell rows next and did working sets with 80kg.

Finally shrugs on HS machine with 4pps

Personally am very happy with weights used today considering I didn't feel like doing deadlifts.

Was speaking with a research scientist last weekend working on nutrition and supplements and got some advice on absorption of supplements, and appetite control as well. Will cover another time, just want to try what he suggests first b4 recommending or not.

Chest and Biceps today with Optimass.

We kicked off with flat bench dumbbells working up to 50 kg without failure on any sets.

Then with that weight we did inclines I think we did 42.5kg...? Just went to failure on the last set here.

Flat bench press next and again none to failure. Started on 100kg for warm-ups, then 140kg for 6, then 160kg for a couple and while Opti went up further for singles while I went back to 140kg for a few reps again.

Then we did flat bench flyes, I stayed with 22.5kg for 12 reps each set while Opti went up to 30kg, last set we went to failure.

Finally chest dumbbell pullovers. I've never done these before. I have tried them and felt no chest pump and just thought they were good shoulder wreckers imo. I did 25kg sets and learning the form or range of motion from Opti. By 2nd set I could feel that I can squeeze at the top of the movement, and not to go forward past the shoulders. Interesting exercise and if I'm going back to basics next cycle this is one I will have to remember to do.

Biceps we did 2 exercises. Preacher curl and worked quickly down the stack to the bottom where we did a couple of working sets in the low-rep range 6-8 with spotting last couple.

Last was Hammer curls and we just repped these out set after set until we had enough.

Great workout again with Opti, am keen to try workouts that don't go to failure and work up some strength but will take a while to adjust as I have always felt like a workout with failure or a pump is an average workout.

Happy to try something new if it leads to size though. Strength is good but hasn't been a priority to get me to the size I am today. For the size I want to be tomorrow it may be necessary. Will devote my next cycle to this ethos and can re-assess after seeing the results. Since my cycles are usually 20-24 weeks long I'll devote 3 months to this, then switch back to what I know and see if the added strength has helped.

The timing of the December 12 NZBB comp is bugging me. I have to stay natty and can't make strength gains with 2.4nmols Test LOL.

By comp close-off date I should be back to my usual 18nmols but only just so will have to do all the lifts in that final week for my best effort. The guys are putting up awesome vids

do a creatine mono load 5 days and then on the day drop 3 scoops of the curse and 2 dBol ... BOOM! :D

was a good chest session mate ..... and my biceps are blown  need to train them more than once a month

Theory:

only failed at our heaviest weight on each move until we got to the isolation moves = bigger strength gains and sustained strength through the whole workout = constant intensity. Reps build muscle ... the total number of reps in a workout are more important than an individual set.

:)

SG, TLAF, and IDW have said it all already in their Journals, today was a Quad-quad-workout with 4 of us, can only do this at Les Mills where they have 4 Leg Extension machines side by side LOL.

After a warm-up on the Leg Extensions...

We paired up for Squats and Quadzilla and me worked our way up to 180kg.... before SG had done all his warming up and was ready for his 230kg squats LOL. You really notice how pushed you feel when you train with someone who far exceeds your own strength. It makes you take a chance when you prolly wouldn't if they weren't around, worthwhile training with SG for sure!

Hack Squats next and we worked up to 4pps and finishing on 3pps...I think.

Leg Extensions we just did our own thing, I was squeezing my Quads each rep on just over 1/2 stack.

Had to force myself to leave as an hour rolled by. I will do Hammies and Calves on Tuesday while the Pros carried on and did them today.

Was good to meet TLAF, imagine he must sit in his sports science lectures at Uni and be thinking "how does this apply this to BB and how can it help me grow" :-)

Was checking out a website called Bulk Powders, found here... http://www.bulkpowders.com.au/ and keen to buy a few things:

Creatine Monohydrate

Beta-Alanine

BCAAs

Glutamine

Taurine

Their site is flash-based and a bit slow but can buy most things you can think of (and more...GABA anyone). Plan on getting these together and and few other things and making up a Pre-Workout mix for using with insulin. Something for later, need to plan the right time, right things etc to make it worthwhile. There's a few good Aussie bulk supplement sellers around

Chest still hurting a bit today, and Legs just kicking in now can start to feel the DOMS will be strong for this one.

Still getting over the flu a bit but still made it the gym.

Today was Shoulders and Triceps.

3 exercises for Shoulders, then 2 for Triceps and back to 1 more for Shoulders.

Nothing out of the ordinary here except no presses for Shoulders.

Side raises, upright rows, rear delt raises, then back to side raises at end of workout. Would say I went heavy'sh for this workout.

Triceps were all cable work, pushdowns and kickbacks. Again, heavy'sh weight.

Just have to get through this off-cycle period, am at 4 and 1/2 weeks off gear now and apart from the flu I feel fine and strong. No problem with libido, be good to see what bloods look like every week ay. 1

and 1/2 more weeks to go but might extend that out further if I apply for a job that has a 3-6mth stint in Thailand.

Today was Back and wanted to catch-up on Hammies. I left my belt and straps in the car by accident so SLDL and deadlifts were off my list.

Started with barbell rows and worked up to 100kg for 8 reps. This is a good weight for me without "assistance" and I was pretty happy with the sets I did. After 80kg I used 5kg plates to get me to 100 which I never used to do. Previously I would have either stayed on 80 or if I felt strong would have jumped straight up to 100. Just a slight shift in thinking here for me.

Seated rows next and I worked my way down to the stack. Surprised me I felt strong tbh and only difference is back on DHEA after the blood tests and natural Test levels will be rising of course. Felt good so i did a couple of sets of 8 reps at stack...not sure what I'll do on the gear guess it'll be lots of sets at 15 reps stack weight or something.

Then spotted a couple of mates doing deadlifts, they had worked their way up to 180kg and were between sets. I walked over put on one of their belts and picked it up. As I was doing shrugs with the bar to show them how light it was they told me to do 4 reps...could have said that earlier I didn't have straps on! I did 4 reps and put it down, smiling away, no warm-up, just straight in.

Went to do pulldowns but my forearms were blown, I never do deadlifts or SLDL without straps. I had to go a bit light on these just becos of that...that'll teach me to be a smart ass. Going lighter I changed from wide grip to shoulder-width and kind of noticed more inner lat (lat under the arms, not the back of the lat) being used. Never noticed this before so I stayed with shoulder width grip and average weight. Grip was close enough that elbows could face outwards or inwards and still do the movement if that makes sense. I kept them outwards.

Then I did some sets on the Hammy curl machine before deciding to finish on hyper-extensions which use lower back and hammies fire too sometimes. Did enough sets that the drive home was uncomfortable with a back pump.

Coming up to 5 weeks off gear and at 6 weeks off I'll do what I did last blood test and come off DHEA for a week before the testing. Be interesting to see what being on DHEA does to blood levels but just curious and not going to bother.

My body shape is changing as muscles hold less glycogen and I am starting to look like a natural again

LOL even 1/2 that size wud still be awsum!

That job is still on the cards but doesn't kick off until early next year.

Looks like I got a contracting role being presented to me either late today or early next week so be a good pay rise, I love contracting!

Was thining of getting bloods done early next week, will be at the 5 and 1/2 wk mark since no short-acting gear. Last Test reading was 2.4nmols so keen to see how it is progressing and the LH and TSH levels too, if it's starting to rise but still quite low I can go to doc for a 3rd time script no worries there in 2 weeks time.

Physically speaking I noticed the following (look away if under 16, or is it 18...).

2 weeks from stopping the gear balls dropped back down lower, like hanging fruit

Then at around 3 weeks out I was getting morning wood again.

At 4 week mark they increased in size, back to normal.

Those signs and how they relate to blood levels...I don't really know.

I was 2.4nmols Test at 3 and 1/2 weeks. Am now guessing that at the time I took blood test it was dropping to zero and not rising? But it's a guess who knows what the relationship between Test and morning wood is. Free Test is required I would have thought and they couldn't give me that with Test below 7nmols.

small, dumb question but is that you in your avi? i was just browsing the net and it randomly came up?

I believe that's her ideal and she's a very got similar structure

Seeing her train in the gym is pretty inspiring tbh.

Not many chicks rep out to failure, pause, rep out again, pause, rep again, pause, rep...it's painful to watch but it's pretty inspiring to be around.

Biggurl27 has the same attitude to workouts in the gym, srs

is biggurl still training? lol

quick update on things.

Last workout was Wednesday 23rd November. Expect to be back in the gym a week later. Finished last job on Friday so had a week of wining and dining and now tomorrow I an signing with a company to start the following Monday.

Am contracting to a telecommunications company as Technical Lead during their PCI-DSS compliance phase. I miss contracting so is a good time to get back into it.

Gives me a week off which I will use to catch up on things, like below...

post-2764-14166823620511_thumb.jpg

This little reflux still puts out 3.5 litres of 95% alcohol, which turns into about 8 litres of 40%, or 7 x 1125ml bottles.

I will get a 2nd blood test tomorrow if I can and prepare for a workout program mid-week. So a week-off, feels weird, I miss it already but there just wasn't time to go to the gym without rushing the workout.

Will get my blood results on Tuesday and if Test levels are back to normal I will consider starting a cycle otherwise I will wait another week or two.

My starting cycle this time around is 250mg Test-E every 5 days. No front-loading, no other compounds, no jokes. Will do for 6 weeks and post up the 6 week program which is quite basic, just heavy work, nothing to failure.

Keen to do a nice easy 350mg/week Test-only cycle for this one and see how it pans out for someone who's done a few cycles before.

whats the contraption for mate?

that thing distills alcohol brah. first you ferment some sugary stuff then you chuck it in there and extract the alcohol.

I'd drink myself to death if I had one of those!! my dad's got one as well, not quite as fancy as Androids, makes me  when I think back at all the alcohol I drank from that thing in my teenage years.
