Nice to catch up with u during cardio today mate. Man the traffic was bad, got hungry so I parked up again and decided to grab a bite in the city... I had one of those Greedy Bastard burgers at Burger Fuel... man it was good but it makes a hell of a mess to eat.. hard getting those first few bites in and I think I used like 10 serviettes all up. Wonder if one of those doofer things they've got helps!

Good luck with the nats this weekend, hope all goes to plan for u!

Good catchup and learnt some new things from ya, cheers! Agree those burgers are tough to get into without a mess they r huge

Last night got up 6 times to piss!

This morning late to cardio and weighed 4kg less than night before.

Did an hour on cross trainer and then in car on way home had 10 egg whites and a couple of rice crackers with marmite. Am getting good at spreading that on while driving lol

Got home and cooked 800gm chicken, another 10 egg whites, 400gm fish, then another 400gm chicken just in case I didn't have enough for the day ahead.

Prepared 3 boxes with chicken, 50gm kumara in each, and broccoli.

I then ate the 2nd 400gm chicken that I cooked.

Drove in to work to drop stuff off then parking in the city to c Optimass took to long so I parked at work, ate a box of food, and went to buy Glycerol and c the big fella for final prep talk.

Back to work and downed the 100ml Glycerol and a black coffee, sat around for 30mins drinking water and chatting, then off to the gym. By this time I had gone to various bathrooms at least 4-5 times. Still drinking a lot of water lost count but with cardio it's 8 1.5litres or 12litres

Did a Shoulder workout lots of raises to the side, front, and rear, with one pressing movement. Glycerol effect was great let's me see what's under the water retention. French rugby team were there and one of them patted me on the back and said something in French...prolly "keep working at it and you'll grow mate" :-)

After workout and more piss stops I ate another box in the car and more rice crackers, and miso soup. I am preparing 3 miso soups in a bottle to take with me in the car.

Went to shops then home and ate the 3rd box...was 3pm now.

Back to LM Britomart by 4:30 for cardio and caught up with I Declare War, awesome look forward to a train sometime afterwards mate.

I had to piss twice during 1hr of cardio this is really getting in the way of things! But I sweated like a mofo and by 1hr was physically exhausted... got more to drink tonight - yay

Tomorrow no extra sodium but not cutting back either. Am cutting back on water by half. Start to eat bit more carbs but plan on cardio until Thursday morning so wouldn't b right to carb-up hard. I voted stopping cardio today but am sure other competitors aren't so therein lies the problem  how about we all agree to stop cardio same time....? Anyone....?

Delaying the end of the sodium load by one day for 3 reasons.

I'm not keen on drying out by Friday, I want water in me for the diuretic as it's supposed to be taken, and I want water in me for the carb-up of course.

This is new territory for me, I would normally be dry on Friday and still take diuretic but there's a shift to taking them Friday morning and afternoon only in my circle.

By delaying the end of the sodium load I hope to be naturally pissing out water all day Thursday and most of Friday anyway (it takes about 2 days).

Have not really restricted my food types either as I have in the past. Today I had a WPI shake, am still eating cottage cheese lite (dairy food isn't it?). I've tried to stay away from Gluten but all I can read about it is it's estrogen-raising effects and for a gear-head not sure that matters tbh. Some small crackers I've had have been wheat so I'm not strict on it but the rice crackers I pick have to be Gluten-free cause I'm eating alot of them.

This morning I did 1.5hrs cardio on the bike and had 300gms salted chicken and a few rice crackers which give 15-20gm carbs plus sodium, on the way home. Got home and had 10 egg whites and miso soup.

Cooked up 3 meals of 300gms (raw weight) chicken, 100gms (raw weight) basmati rice and lots of cottage cheese lite. Made up 2 miso soups to take with me today. I ate one of the boxes at 10am along with rice crackers, man I am addicted to these sour cream and chives ones I can eat 8 of them for 15gms carbs.

At 12:30 I did 5iu insulin and downed a 50gm WPI shake with 40gm glucose. Then ate another box of food as well. 45mins later went to gym for Arms workout and it was as expected, epic. High reps supersetting, different exercises. They blew up but Triceps look better than they did at Waikato, clearer I guess and veins popping. I think I've lost more bodyfat but hard to tell as my abs are blurry. Legs are looking better than Waikato I am hoping it's the rest I've forced myself to give them plus lower fat, but will see at show it's too early to know.

After workout I went shopping and brought 200gms Pastrami, salty-as meat and ate that with more rice crackers.

Then about 3:30pm I did 4iu insulin and ate the 3rd box of food, with 20-30gms glucose.

Back to gym and by 4:30pm was doing some rear delt work, lats, and a couple of sets for traps that's all. Rear delts came up nicely really happy All Blacks in the gym watching me do a few sets all veiny and striated...head swell sorry guys :-) I need to get a photo of Sonny Bill for my missus to see, but he was listening to music so left him alone...tomorrow maybe.

Cardio again after workout and did 1hr 15mins on the bike.

That's 2hrs 45mins cardio and about 1 and 1/2hrs workouts today!

Tonight it's 2 more meals of 300gms chicken and 100gms Basmati rice and am stretching out my Quads they feel tight as f*ck from cardio so need a stretch out.

Looking forward to tomorrow, normal water, normal food (simple and complex carbs) and at end of the day hope abs clear up a bit and I don't have to take so many toilet stops, it's getting to be every 30mins now, crazy!

Friday is day of zero sodium, potassium supplementation, and watching carbs. As I said before I will take a diuretic Friday morning and afternoon, these are potassium-sparring ones so perfect for this sodium manipulation.

On Saturday morning fats and sodium are good :-)

I've brought chocolate chip pancake mixture for Saturday morning. So I have to make sure I am not carb overfull on Friday...I want to be able to top-up Saturday morning. I won't touch it if I am already full but with overnight sleeping which burns carbs that's unlikely so looking forward to just a couple with my Big Macs.

Am planning on a sauna tomorrow to relax and see what it does to my skin during the day as well as what it looks like the following day (Friday). If I like the effect on the skin tightening and pulling water away that it's supposed to offer I will repeat Friday evening.

Cheers, got 3 home-brew kits for my birthday...beer, wine and spirits! Think the missus is trying to tell me sumthing :-)

Today was good got an hour cardio in me and start eating. Only workout today was abs and stretches although I did warm up my delts cos they hurt from last workout still. Didn't do any hard work.

I tried the steam room it was too uncomfortable so lasted 5mins but the veins popping out was crazy good outside. Temporary im afraid to say once the cold wind hit them they receeded back under the skin!

I had some meals with insulin today, the non-fat ones. So first main meal after breakfast was a small tin of fat-free creamed rice banana flavor as it had the least sodium, even less than plain go figure that one out. And with that 250gms chicken and rice. Rice today is white rice, higher GI and more calories I figure using insulin GI ain't gonna mean jack.

Next meal no insulin cos it was a Greedy Bastard from Burger Fuel. I downed that in record time and saved 2 servings of kumara chips for the arvo.

Had another meal with insulin used honey on crackers and then chicken and rice.

So Im fat loading early. I want to go into this show as full as possible, I've done all the cardio I can in the time available and carbing up has a limit of 1,000-1,200gms in muscle whereas fat in the muscle has no limit. I want to look like I do the day after a show :-) we all do we all say it, im trying it.

So I have to start diuretics tonight with fats to keep bloat down.

Dinner tonight is a vegan pizza with little cheese as these have least sodium apparently.

Tomorrow no sodium so fats will be from peanut butter found some no salt no sugar brand, awesome.

Then Saturday sodium is ok in small amounts.

Fingers crossed the moons all align and my water pulls out and fullness pushes out.

quick update, got my PCT sorted.

After the comp as I am not taking any Test (since yesterday) and just on Tren-A and Winny I'll be clean a couple fo days after the comp so will go onto the peptides, dhea, and nolvadex...this Sunday.

Will see how long it takes to recover and what the downtime is from pretty much being on gear since late January. Dosage has averaged between 600 and 700mg/week, never gone up to 1gm of oils and last 2 months the Prop has been close to 350mg/week and Tren the same at 200-350mg/week.

Next cycle I've already got sorted :-) will continue with the peptide that I start and do 1ml of Test-E per week with 1ml Prop EOD should be 500-550mg/week. Will be going to the gym 4 days a week and re-inventing my diet from boring chicken and rice to more interesting meals. Definitely going to incorporate foods I've never eaten before the comp came along such as cottage cheese lite, mixed veges, chilli sauce, protein jellies, salmon on crackers...things I ignored before because I thought it was easier to do the same thing every single day. I'll also be looking at...dare I say it without actually saying it..."fitting my macros better". So I will have a chocolate biscuit or piece of cake at work (in the past I never did even while bulking) and just allow for the calories with less food later or something.

Just rambling...too muchn time on my hands today and tomorrow

Had a snack-sizea Hell's Pizza for dinner tonight, Sinister. It's a vegan pizza with no cheese, just avocados, chillis, and stuff. Asked for no added salt. Then had a weight-watchers custard with about a spoonful of fruit salad.

Last meal was at 9pm was 100gms Basmati Rice, 300gms white fish, and half a tub of Cottage Cheese Lite. Just before having that I had 4 cruskit things 2 with honey and 2 with peanut butter (no added salt or sugar kind).

Carbs about 70gms, 20 simple, 50 complex.

Fats about .

Protein about 50gms.

Diuretic has kicked in and I am just drinking normally.

Will see what I look like tomorrow and decide whether to repeat my last meal on Friday night as well.

Upper body parts are stretched and full and veiny...but abs are blurry and holding water in front of them, by morning this is usually gone and it's crisp.

If it isn't by tomorrow morning then I will worry...is it carbs or is it water management? Not sure how to tell which tbh hence my question about carb spillover somewhere else on the forum.

I can only assume it's it's water management and until I do zero sodium tomorrow I won't see the end result.

Apart from today I've only been eating 200-250gms carbs while doing 4-4.5hrs in the gym and 2.5hrs - 3hrs of those are cardio. So I'm pretty confident that that equates to a low-low carb intake for someone not doing cardio, and since I'm not eating a carb-load amount of 400gms plus I don't think I could be spilling over.

Will consider eating more food before I consider eating less and continue with the plan. Sorry just nerves, I knew when I took this path that I would peak on Saturday morning and that it wasn't a gradual lead0in to the show as it was last time where I looked good 3 days out.

all i see is posts about food. :pfft:

lots of ghosts of forums past posting again ... so are you back or just teasing us? :D

teasing 8)

Haha true that, and today was no different

Cooked 300gms Basmati Rice which in total is 90gms slow-burning carbs, makes a lot of rice though! Then I boiled 600gms chicken. And drank nothing but Pure Dew water all day. Got through about 4 liters today.

Some meals were primed with crackers with honey and a no-salt, no-sugar peanut butter, I guess a meal every 2hrs with 40-50gms carbs and 30gms protein, and 30gms fats.

Got my spray tan, checked weight midday, and went to beach in the arvo for some time in the sun just to relax. Last time I used a masseuse but today was too nice to b inside.

I noticed after doing insulin these last few days I look a little less dry so I canned these. I think I am ok for carbs and I think there's a difference between ingesting 60gms carbs, and ramming 60gms carbs in. If you have enough carbs and ingest simple ones you spillover cos they are ready to use, whereas slow carbs are released over time and by the time they go in there's room for them. I think that's what I experienced as once I stopped, and also lowered my carbs I still look ok. So unless I wake up under-carbed drastically I don't c a need this time.

All I am having tonight is protein and fats. There's a higher limit on how much fat gets stored intra-muscular which is lost during cardio sessions, and high protein and fats doesn't affect water as much as carbs it seems.

Dinner was no carbs just a 500gm sirloin steak with fat attached and 1/2 bunch asparagus. Then weighed in at registration at 98.6kg...1.3kg lighter and looking leaner for it so happy about this.

7pm got home and cooked a 300gm topside steak with fat attached and 1/2 bunch asparagus, and a small cheesecake which had 35gms carbs and more fats. Need some carbs of course.

In summary I think I'm following the fat-loading and shit-loading principles pre-contest \:D/

Got one more high fat meal to go, will cook some chicken and also pull apart a Burger Fuel Greedy Bastard just for the patties and avocado. It will have some sodium but I'll skip the cheese, extra salt, and sauces. Will buy 2 of these and keep one for 4am feed. Then breakfast will be a Hells pizza and if I can afford more carbs will make some chocolate-chip pancakes, else I won't I have baked kumara chips if I am unsure of carb limit and just chew a few of those until I get to the venue.

Oh had x2 600mg Potassium tablets (spanK) already today (morning and arvo) and another one soon.

That's about it, 250gm-carb zero-sodium day, turning into a low-carb hi-fat evening with a slight intro of sodium into diet again which I hope stops Aldersterone From being released.

Cheers and it was helpful to me to log everything thanks Pseudo.

Spoke to Darren Onekawa asking about pre-contest techniques and he pretty much said it will b different each time to a degree, so unfortubately it's not as repeatable as I had hoped. But the general strategy and timing prolly is just not the amounts is what he may have been referring to. Will know next time

Last contest log covering the day.

Morning started with a 4am alarm to get up and eat. I had the 2nd Greedy Bastard burger but just the 2 beef patties and avocado. Also had my 2nd cheesecake (they are small, comes in packs of 2 each one equals a slice from normal sized cheesecake with 35gms carbs and 10gms fat)

Woke up again at 6:30 and had snack size Hells pizza, Sinister.

Took 50mcg T3 as am tapering down off these, a 600mg Potassium, multi-vits, BSN Nitrix, and then made 2 chocolate chip pancakes, put whipped cream on them and syrup :-) best breakfast I've had in a while. I looked good and dry, not full but not flat. Carbs with fats, again, are ok the fats slow down the release of carbs into system. Had I just had sweet carbs i could have spilled over...I guess, never know.

At the event before going on I had regular spoonfuls of peanut butter, downed 40ml Glycerol 45mins b4 on stage, BSN Nitrix, handful of salted cashews, M n Ms. Just b4 going on stage spoke to Supry as he was drinking plenty of water. He said Harry taught him water is fine as long you pump up straight away it will be drawn into the working muscle and not sweat out on stage or come under skin. I drank about 150ml with The Curse powder and pumped up.

Didn't sweat at all, really happy with advice :-) Thanks Harry, Supry

No cramps at all just came off panting like a dog!

Between shows I went home. Brought McDs soft service cone, a coke, a Steak burger and hamburger. Just drank 1/4 coke, had cone yummmmm! And the patties from steak burger.

Had a nap, then made a vege/fruit/WPI Dhaka with avocado, tomatoe, carrot, apple, banana, ice, frozen berries. It made 2 shakes and I downed 1 at 3pm then just had half hamburger, 1/4 cucumber dipping into cream cheese yummmm! And a few bites of apple

I cooked x2 chicken mignons, chicken wrapped in bacon and ate these at 5pm driving to the show....wish I had cooked all 4 I could have eaten them all. Got to show and it was running late so at 6pm had snack size Hells Pizza, Sinister and 2nd vege/fruit/WPI shake, mouthful of coke, and a small creamed rice.

Then backstage I repeated the mornings rituals.

After winning my class I drank like a crazy man as everyone else was sweating, except Supry...? Nathan only started sweating in the overalls but they worked his butt off so no wonder.

Brought a milkshake and soft serve cone from Mc Ds and went home, then sleep.

Morning after....coffee with milk, muesli, and a WPI shake to kick things off.

That's the contest over with, life back to normal again.

Have started PCT as i was on short-acting oil and orals (am doing Nolvadex and 100mg DHEA DAILY) and GHRP-6 twice a day (100mcg, may intro post-workout later).

Workouts will go back to 4 times a week, eating I will re-address as I believe i can bulk on less carbs and protein than I was b4. Will do the rebound first for 2 weeks then hopefully settle into a routine.

Mate an NZ Title in the U100kg weight class and being really competitive in the overalls a fantastic achievement, especially given some of the guys that were onstage with you.

The consistency that you show in your nutrition and training journal serves as a great illustration to all the guys and girls on here as to the kind of dedication it takes to achieve these sorts of results, which is great as this kind of feedback is why this forum can be such a good resource.

When you take the small proportion of shit stirrers and haters out of the equation, most of whom are not and will never be construcutive in their opinions on getting bigger/stronger/leaner etc, there are so many athletes who just want to learn and improve on here and sharing the training/lifestyle knowledge really helps with this.

Best of luck for a steady/injury free run in to your next show Android!
