Hey mate.

Thanks for that, i was impressed with Crichtons, it one gym in chch that i have never stepped into. i will definatly be training there over the Xmas Break. i have talked to my good mate vaughan patterson and he recommends the gym highly, i have another friend Smit who since moving from India also trains there so i should have no shortage of training partners. LOL Never know we might be able to get some of the boys (and girls) down there to get up on stage next year!

Hey mate.

Howdy.. how is the pec strain.. what are you treating it with?

I've got to say, a reoccuring theme seems to be pec tears amongst pro's... ...

Are you on professional muscle forum by any chance... every 3 months someone on there seems to be tearing a pec.

Almost all of these seem to be occuring on flat bench (bb/db) in the lower rep range........

Had a deep tissue massage on tuesday which has helped heaps i use a guy Charles Mcgroskie, the guy is magic!

it is definatly on the improve but have decided to take a more active rather than reactive approch to sorting out a few niggles, so have booked in each fortnight for a massage> in the past i have had afew issues with upper back and neck, this has been playing up a bit of late so the massage will keep on top of it!

I have found over the last few months with the strenth going up I am getting a few more niggles.

I am conertrating a bit more on incline work at the moment as it is flat work that seems to be worse for the pec

Well as my last post said i decided to use the service of my massage therapist a bit more as i lead into my Pro Debut, and just as well as after my training session on Sat my upper back neck issue decided to rear its ugly head so spent a good portion of Sat and Sunday very locked up. Any ways got it sorted on tuesday so back ontrack.

Today was a pretty good back workout. i trained with Andrew Hoare, when hes in town i generally jump in and train with him generally as a change ill follow his All black workout but over the last few weeks he has been doing my workout or what he can as he is still recovering from ankle surgery from his torn ligaments from the Hongkong Aus test.

I think hes finding the volume a little challange LOL, it my pay back for some nasty Power/strength sessions we have done on his programs in the past.

We wont talk about weight :x Its still around 106kg i am definatly a bit leaner so all in all i should be happy!!! but hey im a male bodybuilder that is addicted to the scales. Put it this way if i was carrying an extra 5kg of fat id still be leaner than Mike K and be 111kg :pfft:

Hey GF.

im hoping to be around the 100kg mark.

at the universe 03 i was 100kg but abit soft.At the worlds 05 i was in better condition but still prob 2 or 2.5kgs off at 102kg. my best was wellington nationals 2000 at 98kg in really good shape. if i can get in the same shape i was in at the 07 nationals (possibly best condition i have been in) and 98 to 102kg i will be very happy. at acurrent 106kg id say im carrying 8 to 10kgs.

i generally loose 8 to 10kg from 12weeks out till show day. so if i can hit may at 110 to 112 kg in the condition im currently in i should be on target. id drop prob 8ish of fat and couple of fluid. but hey alot can change in 6mths.

Have to agree MD your shape at the 2000 Nats was spot on! (Mind your conditioning at the nationals in CHCH in 97? 98? was pretty sharp too). A couple of extra kilos and in that shape and who knows.

MD - I will be down in Chch Dec 28,29,30 & Jan 6 - training with DS, if you're keen we could meet up for a train, might resemble the old days at Worlds! (Damn thats nearly a decade ago.........). Are you still PTing / training at Pro Fitness? Who else is still around in Chch, last time I was down south I managed to catch Big Eddy, some of the Eastside PLing crew, Adrian, and one or two other familiar faces, but that was a couple of years back.

Good to see you chasing the dream Mike, a certain pro I know always said you had the potential & it was up to you as to how bad you wanted it!

Mike I thought we agreed to smash our scales. :D Its not about stage weight Mate, cause you have got some of the best genetics in the business. Just go for condition & symmetry & your can whack some ass in the US. :grin: R

I'd eat 'em up on legs!

Had a conversation with DS after they'd smashed high rep hacks and had one of the ex-PLers spewing. So after having done between 1-3 RMs for at least 8 weeks, (maybe some 5RMs, with assistance work at 5-8 reps) I thought I'd give it a go.

I hit 60 reps on hacksquats (hadnt done hacks in an eternity either) for 2 sets. Needless to say it was fucken hard work but mentally I was okay - my training partner turned gray and left after one set..... :pfft:

I reckon I can take any volume & reps they throw my way on legs, back and chest might be a different kettle of fish tho??? The tyre flipping has probably helped my condidtioning since the last high rep hack session - but time will tell!!

I'm looking forward to having a couple of sessions down in Chch with different people - legs anyone?! :P

Talking Legs i was Rapt on Thursday training with Big Eddie Dehaas and Speedy we all pulled out the stops and with a lend of eddies knee wraps pushed out the Xmas goal of 5X 220kg squats ass to the floor, Altough must say i have been a cripple :-s since LOL we hit hacks hard after as well it was a great workout! real buzz eventhe way i feel now isnt detering from the high i got on thurs.

Nothing like PBing on squats!

I'm still supposed to be doing high rep stuff, but got caught out (of Napier) and had to train in another gym on Weds. Couldn't help myself & even tho I hadn't squatted heavy for months I tripled 260 on a parallel box (belt only).

I'm feeling the pain too brother!!!! :nod:

I better get back on track with the reps tho or I'll never bust thru the 30" quads, oh yeah I really cant wait for the usual chaffing this summer!

Well being battling through the Xmas break but making sure i get all my training in. i am off work till the 12th so as well as throwing the weight around i am throwing lots of dirt, compost and concrete around at home trying to finish my land scaping. Im trying to have it all finished as soon as possible as my wife dangled a carrot infront of me, if i can get it all done by the end of the year (my other big passion outside of bodybuilding is water skiing) my father has aggred to sell me the familly boat which is in need of some TLC, something i have wanted to buy off him for years. but being sensible it is would be stupid to get it before our house is completed and with my big yr ahead.

The body seems to be holding up ok at the moment after Chrio and massage last week the neck feels pretty good. i was pretty happy today after training i jumped on the scales and Tipped the 240lb (tad over 109kg) so feel as things are moving in the right direction. i have 7mths tomorrow till my 1st pro event so getting very excited esp when my 2009 Pro Card arrived last week along with Contracts for Tampa, Dallas and Houston. That seemed to make it all quiet real. i will send the contracts in closer to the time. with the pro events once you have contracted to do the event it is a $5000us fine if you pull out, unless for medical reasons. might try and get some more progress shots done this week while off work, and to keep Mike Kingsnorth happy ill even have a shave!!
