I've been having doubts about the 5x5 I have been advised I would be better off going down a different route. My PT is setting up a new programme for me I will get it Wednesday so till then I'm floundering making it up as I go along.

Hmmmmm any advice?

What exactly are your goals? I'm too lazy to read more than this page but I see something about marathon running?

5x5 is a great program that I suggest to a lot of people looking to get bigger/stronger, but if you're one of those runner types it may not be the best choice.

Er ex marathoner now! I have been a BB with a running problem now I have no running addiction. Just wanting to lift weights and grow BIG muscles

I shall post me new programme up tomorrow and you'all can analyse it after I have have analysed it  :pfft:

Hooray for BB'ers with running problems  I'm using the 'Round the Bays' as a cardio goal as part of my belated summer cut... I have to beat my younger brother

Round the Bays is normally around mid Feb I think - so you'll be here by then, right?

Yes, CC's right again - it's on 21 Feb, according to their website - the RTB is only around 7km, but there's a Half Marathon for the enthusiastic.

So, will you have joined us by then, huh?

I will be in Wellywood then! WOW we could have our own team! I could join Team Fat Boy!

But only if you fast chicks promise to wait around the extra half-hour 'til I lumber across the finish line

But seriously, it's a good morning's fun... from Frank Kitts Park, right downtown, gentle stroll around the bays to Kilbirnie, what's not to like. Plus, there's free food (well, a banana!) at the end, that's my incentive to finish =P~

I've strolled it a couple of times - that's about the extent of the effort I'm prepared to make  Though since it's the day after Homegrown I'll probably be out for this.

That time of the year huh FESTIVALS!!! Nice!

Took me 40m to finish the 7k run   So very keen to do some proper training for next time.

That's still a fine time Miss VC no shame in that! :D

'cause women don't do deadlifts :pfft:

My wife pulls downstairs with everybody else, so you'll be fine ;)

I'm not convinced that what they have at LM is chalk, either. It feels more like baby powder, honestly. I'm going to start bringing my own.

Usually I don't bother, but I got hold of one of their really bad bars last week and was nearly losing my DLs at the top due to grip slippage.

Yeh I'm normally in the BIG KIDS gym downstairs I don't know why I felt impelled to go all the way upstairs!! I even had to go back downstairs to use Le Glute machine anyway. There's no glute machine in wimmins gym :-s

I have learnt my lesson albeit the hard way :salute:

Baby powder is evil. I always carry my own stash of chalk in my bag. Buy some Vee 8)

Anybody know where I can get some in Dorkland?

baby powder is for babies ...chalk is for teachers and lifters

Teachers have whiteboards now just in case some little angel is allergic to the chalk dust

Thanks Miss BB DOMS rocks! \:D/ :D

best part is that they can't complain, since they've got their powder all over the place anyway.

Yeh you're right there is powder all over the floor- but not in the wimmins gym :pfft:

Here's dinner this evening Le Eye fillet Steak and salad garnish :pfft:
