Marathon training, ew, go you :D Yeah, the only way I have managed to consistently motivate myself to do cardio is with some form of competition. What kind of training schedule are you on for it??

The first couple of months ain't too bad, it sllloooowwwly builds up to the *gasp* 38km longest run 2 weeks before the marathon, I end up averaging 80-100km a week from memory. I'm finalising the plan tonight I'll post it up tomorrow for you all to see. It starts off slow and builds up on the basis of not knackering you out before the big day and not to injure yourself either! I lost 7kg training for this last year and another 2kg from just the marathon itself, I am scared I'm gonna lose muscle I'm gonna eat while running on the big runs and see how it goes!

Ooh was Rodney So'oialo there? And Cory Jane? They're my faves. The Hurricanes/Lions train at my gym, but I've never seen either of those two there, sadly. I guess they probably train more locally to where they live.

I don't know who is who! I just recognize some of their faces! I should prolly read up a bit more so I can tell!

Once you get some weight on there you should be OK.. Doing them with just the bar makes me feel awkward for some reason :?

Do you ever see Hosea Gear there? love.gif

Yeah, I saw him there once at the beginning of the Super 14 season. He was doing some kind of photo shoot - but then he went and got himself injured so I haven't seen him again.

Ahhh I did a few of these the other day cause I found it hard to have the bar on my back cause my shoulder flexibility is bad. All I ended up with was bruises on my arms :x

Blind spots are funny, 'check your blind spots' my driving instructor constantly yelled at me (OK he didn't really yell) BUT if they are 'blind spots' how come I can see them?

I think it took me about 5 weeks from first trying a chin up to actually doing one. But I wasn't doing it every day, so you might find you have faster progress with the every day method (which I'm now trying for pull ups). My method was in doing more bicep work to make them stronger to ultimately be able to lift myself up.

Good luck! We'll all be chinning up and pulling up in no time!
