Thanks Chillcat! Really? I don't need to drive in Wellington? :(

Maybe I'll go live really FAAAAR out of the city so I have to!

 If you live in central Wellington you don't need to. I've been back here since 2001 after years away travelling etc, and I've never felt the need to take any lessons. I'm sure it's one of those things that once you have it, you can't imagine how you ever got by without it.

Mind you, it might be useful to get me to the gym on weekends, rather than forking out $150 for a 10 trip to my husband's gym which is near where I live! But then again, by the time you factor in the cost of an actual car, I think I'll just stick with the occasional splurge on a 10 trip

Well done on getting your licence though!!

I dunno about having to live far out, if you really want a car.... just make it a hot-but-small one... like these :)

I swear to goodness this is where flash 4x4s come to die - like outside any school in Thorndon in the mornings, it's not just the Vitaras but the huuuuuge Lexuses and Mercedes and the like that clutter up the street, and most of them probably only drive five minutes.

But hey, we have good gyms, and great coffee... and plenty of other good things, and great coffee...

...did I mention the coffee ?
