I did something similar earlier this year - funnily enough on an 85kg dead. Grip slipped, tried to save it....silly idea. Spent next two months in acupuncture & physio. Was a leeson though, essentially my back strength wasn't up to the strength of the rest of me. More hyperextensions required.

omg...2 months...please no!! yeah now i cant do anything that involves back extensions. those things being things like walking and sitting...o man. you are back doing deadlifts now though right Flamer?

Hell yeah! But, I had to avoid the leg press & dead lifts for a fair while. It was really a weakness I already had, so may have happened without deadlifting. It was at the start of this years comp prep, so I wasn't really interested in 'takin it easy', which probably contributed to the lengthy recovery :oops:

SO i was on my heaviest set 85 (did heavier last fri) and went to go for a second rep, got the weight just off the ground and felt this INTENSE pain in my back and just dropped it. tried to stand up, couldnt, kind of fell/sat down thinking OMG what have i done.

crazy.gif God, you poor thing! I would be the biggest sook ever if this happened to me!

Does this mean no more gym for a while? Just rehab?

At the moment im still having issues walking / sitting / standing pain free so I can't even begin to imagine gymming!! SUCKS!!

Oh dear!! That sucks! Are you going to get physio/massage/accupuncture type stuff done to it- would it help? Rest up and get better!!!

Yeah have been seeing physio which is helping. Its actually a heap better today I can walk around pretty much OK which is nice.

Took some progress pics last night and er there is no progress haha.

sooo not sure whats going on with the thighs though. they seem to have got more round :(

Doncha hate it when that happens...mind you, have they actually gotten more round, or is it just perception?

Get someone to take measurements to stop things like that messing with your head :nod:

well what a crazy hectic week. I've moved into a flat which is good because I can finally sort my shit out. But I moved over 2 weekdays while not taking time of work so that was kind of crazy, not to mention I have no car and am now in the middle of no where (Green Bay) so having to public transport it to work zomg. Desperately looking for a car this weekend so hopefully will resolve that. Eating has been a disaster. For example I have had indian 2 x this week and a huge wendys meal, an ice cream, pizza, hugggggggge lunch today at De Fontein and countless milo + coffees.

All of this coupled with majooooor stress, no where near enough sleep, crippling back pain and no gym = horrendous skin and definate weight gain.

Tomorrow I am off to get some chicken, I walked past an aussie butcher that had $9,99 chicken on the way to the train station so that should be a fun little walking mission :D

Ahhh wwll what a weekend. Still getting settled into my new "independent" life. Managed to borrow a car and went to the gym this morning, my back seems to have settled but it was a very light all round workout but was so good to be back.

I'm gonna be strict until christmas, need to sort out my plan but more importantly just get into it.

On another note I have an offer on a car, hoping to hear back today because DUDE i need a car.

Haha im not so much afraid as excited :D get this I bought new pj pants on the weekend that fitted and now they are tight. its WEDNESDAY. haha.

Big girl, I thought it would be relevant for me to mention that I wear pj's too, except they are not tight and fitted.

it is entirely relevant. I always wanted to wear them because some of them are so cute but my gosh are they uncomfortable to sleep in. i feel like i am getting strangled/tied up all the time

Just pop one of those buggers on when you jump out of bed so you don't scare (or excite) your flatmates haha PJ's I haven't worn them since I was like 12. But yeah there are some sexy ones about now Laura but probably not sutiable for showing off to the flatties.

Agreed in summer, I sleep in the nude too, (in case you all really want to know haha).

But hang on there is relevance to this story to laura's journal about living in flats...

I recently moved into my own apartment (here in Sydney).. and live on the first floor, just around the cbd corner.

One friday night I went to bed early, dead tired, forgetting to close my balcony door.... and woke up at 4am when I hear some rustling in my room.

Adrenaline and some old ju jitsu training kicked in and I cornered and brought down a bloke in the corner of my room... flicking on the lights at the same time and he started howling as I had him pinned under all my weight. clearly he was terrified, and begged me to stop .. (he was decently dressed so I knew something wasnt right, i.e. he wasnt there to steal or similar).

He was just really drunk, and by then managed to convey that he lives in my apartment block and lost his keys.

In his drunkeness he managed to climb all the way up to my apartment balcony realising it was open. Clearly, when you loose your key, you walk through others apartments!

Dick head, !!

lucky it wasn't someone else who would have grabbed a kitchen knife instead of bringing him down.

Since then I sleep in at least boxers... because if my ju jitsu reflexes kick in again and I have to wrestle/grapple intruders I really dont want to be naked.
