welcome back hope you're feeling better, though judging by those squats you probably are :) glad you missed leg day when you were down here, would've shamed me for sure :pfft:

Thanks bud, not sure on that - but, back down July, so maybe we'll see!!

Haven't checked in on this journal in a while. Throwing around some big weights now!

Cheers SS - I see your still working through some 'niggles' - hope they come right for ya.

So come for a training!!!

OK!!

Sweet - I guess I'll come to you - since you got no car & I'm out south!

Come on Flamer, we KNOW you've got at least a 47.5kg bench, if not 50kg, fo' sure!

Shoulda stuck to 47.5kg - 'cause 50kg was UGLY. Failed on the first, re-set, got the second & third.

Will see how this week pans out. Actually made it out on the road on my bike over the weekend. So, Round Taupo training has oficially begun - DAMN it was cold. As a result thoough, hip flexors are feeling pretty fatigued. Squat tonight - not expecting much.

They may have been ugly, but you got them up there! Next time, with good form, and on towards 55

Training in the cold for Taupo's good prep. The year I did it, it didn't get above 12deg all damn day - and I was out there all damn day! I haven't been out on a bike in the fresh air for ages - and it would have been a good day to do it today. I might sneak it into the office for lunchtimes.

I think you said, but are you doing the full 160 yourself?

Good luck with the squats!

Thanks for the vote of confidence - but I think 55kg is a while away yet!

Yeah, I think it was about 12 degrees (maybe) over the weekend. And, yip - I'm stupid enough to be going for the full 164km!!

HELLS YEAH. Friggen awesome squats Flamer

Thanks Poos. Welcome back. Must be well trime for you to come for a train!

:bump:

So what happened last Tuesday on squat day, c'mon, huh?

lol - nothing of much excitment - sadly. Got my 110kg for 3, but I seem to get stuck at the bottom on the first and nail the 2nd & 3rd

Anyway, new week next week and will see if I can at least go up 2.5kg.

I'm Back!!!

Still been liftin the iron, but was also training for the Round Taupo Cycle Challenge. It was a real effort to get back into an endurance event.

For those not familiar with The Round Taupo - it's essentially a 160km cycle, predominantly uphill!

Saturday 28th Nov

160km in cold and wet conditions - 6 hours 11 mins - happy with that. Still had gas to sprint the finish, and was feeling A-OK Sunday morning. not stiff, not sore, just great in fact.

What's next for Flamer??? Still to find my next challenge, although I am considering the Auckland Half Ironman (March 2010).

In the meantime - I think I have just enough time to do a quick mini cut to find some lean curves for summer........WATCH THIS SPACE!

In 2005, it never got above 12... I have NEVER spent so long in a hot tub as I did when I got back to the motel that day. The curry that night was especially welcome

Good luck - boxing the day after shoulders
