As long as your legs grow at the same rate everything will be ok. There would be nothing worse than having a huge ass with small legs.

True...but guess who can't train quads properly at the moment? :banging:

They should all grow relatively man, your hammy's should be responding too. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Just think of those shredded glutes on stage

I am more worried about my glutes growing so huge that they try take over the world, like one of those cheap 1950's horror movies where "The Blob" rises from the swamp and goes on a rampage through town.

lol you guys. if you squat deep you will have developed glutes. if you dont have developed glutes, your not squatting deep. aka you train like a girl

many ppl noticed my ass got bigger when i started to squat correctly, but now my legs are caught up. still, my glutes are pretty developed... btw the gf loves this

Machine chest press

LT 130 x 9 TT132.5 x 8

I thought I would at least equal my previous reps with 130 but it didn't happen - I got 8 reps but did increase the weight, so it's progress.

Hammer shoulder press

LT 62.5 x 9 TT 62.5 x 10

Dips

LT +12kg x 12 TT +16kg x 13

Rack chins

LT 10kg x 10 TT +15kg x 10

These felt good  - it's just a bit awkward balancing a 10kg and a 5kg plate in my lap doing these. Will be better with a 20.

Floor medium grip pulldowns

LT 84 x 9 TT 84 x 9

It felt like I ran out of gas on these pulldowns. If I can't beat this lift next time, this exercise is history.

Not a bad workout overall. I made some good progress on dips and rack chins.

No workouts for me this weekend and probably none this week either - my back is stuffed again.

I've been neglecting the stretches I was shown by my physio because my back has been feeling so good lately but it's come back to bite me in a big way.

So I'll just be relaxing for a few days and trying to do the damn stretches.

Cheers guys - hobbling around with a cane is getting old but I am feeling a bit better this evening. My back really locks up while I sleep and getting up in the morning is less than fun but I reckon it will be OK in a few days.

I finally dragged myself off to see a physio because my back isn't getting any better.

The news isn't great - looks like I've got a disc that's bulging and it's blocking most of the extension that I should have in my lower back. My range of motion is minimal right now but he's optimistic that it will get sorted out soon and that I should be able to maintain it with some work.

No more still legged deadlifts was his advice to me - not with my history of back problems and possible disc degeneration. It's just not worth the risk. I'll have to find out about rack deads.

I reckon I'll be back in training by next week but it's going to be light and easy for a while. Maybe I'll even start using the swiss balls :pfft:

have u tried chiro ?

I'm not really a fan of chiro, I prefer physio.

Having said that, the physio I am seeing at the moment is doing a fair amount of manipulation to mobilize my spine in the area where it's stuffed. Not much fun but at least it's helping.

Im with jono, i was reluctant to try chiro, i only went for maybe a dozen sessions but it worked a treat, my xray showed i had all the classic sysptoms of a bad back, the neck starting to move forward and lose the arch, i had a lower back bone issue and my hips were twisted, i used to get chronic back pain from menial tasks like washing and drying dishes, now its gone...i really should continue with it though, you gotta look after yourself mate, hope it goes well for you.

Thanks guys

If I was a horse, they'd shoot me.

Nah - life goes on - no big deal. I'll work through this and get back to training soon. I just noticed the physio is qualified in manipulation as well, so maybe I am getting some of the best of both worlds.

isnt there some method of "permanent prevention" for these sorta re-occuring problems, save for putting you down :pfft: ?

Sure - I can take up knitting. Very few injuries in that sport unless you fall on a needle

I managed to get in a semi-decent workout today.

I'm limiting my movements for a while until my back feels better and being very careful with my form. The weights I am lifting are horribly down on my last few workouts but it's good just to get back and do something.

I did 2 sets for each bodypart today because I can't push a single set to total failure right now.

Machine chest press

120 x 6

120 x 6

Machine shoulder press

50 x 8

50 x 8

Dips

14

9

Wide grip pulldowns

72 x 8

72 x 8

I'll add more movements and get back into my normal routine soon, albeit with no more deadlifts....ever. :banging:
