A dark side of me inside is happy your bench isnt doing to well; your wiping the floor with your squats and deads, so the fact I can still beat *slightly* your bench is pleasing for me ^^

Ive stopped dieting now; just fucking around really.

But at least now I can carb up b4 training which is keeping the bench ok :)

Bench is actually doing well, old gym just had light weights (I measured them the other day 20s were like 19s) and I was cheating, not touching chest or bouncing. Definately stronger now.

Deadlifts

5*60

5*70

5*80

3*80

3*80

Just making sure I had my form completely down. Glad I wasn't doing a full session, I don't have much energy at 9AM.

Good Mornings

5*20

5*40

5*50

Did a full ROM

GHRs supersetted with Pullthroughs

8*BW/12*100lb x3

Core work

Reverse Russian twists and some leg raises

Comments

Glad that wasn't a max effort session, 80 made me tired enough. Just some light squats on Tuesday then max out!

How're the deload sessions feeling? How much longer do you do them for?

That was the last one. I maxed out today.

Squat

5*20

5*40

5*60

3*75

1*90

1*100

1*110

1*120 (5kg PR)

1*127.5 (12.5kg PR)

All went up, 127.5 took a little grinding.

Bench Press

5*20

3*30

2*40

1*50

1*60 - paused

1*70 - paused

1*77.5 - paused (2.5kg paused PR)

1*82.5 - paused, fail

1*80 - paused, fail

Probably had 80 in me, but lost the energy.

Deadlift

5*60

3*75

2*90

1*105

1*120

1*130

1*140 - matched PR of about 7-8 weeks ago

1*150 - got it to about mid shin, then failed

1*150 - couldn't break it

Disappointed with this. Really expected to get 150. I felt that thing in my hip/lower abs, so that didn't help.

Total = 345kg/759lb

Once I download the software to convert the file I'll post the vids. My mid-long term goal at the moment is breaking 1000lb by the Dec 6 comp.

That's still pretty good going - two PRs and a tie, the CNS would be pretty knackered by the end. I can see I'm gonna have to lift my game, will look to put deads in my backworkout tonite! Great going, SS

Yeah, I'm sure if I started with the deads I would have got the 150kg up. I went straight from one lift to another, in a comp I'll have more rest etc. Plus I will be eating between lifts. It was good fun testing it all out anyway, and gives me a good idea where I'm at + motivation!

Great job - esp on the squats! Take a bow :notworthy:

Good lifting today SS, you did all your lifts in a hour and half with no breaks. The deadlift at the end well, there are a few theories on that, and some we have discussed. But when you deadlift first you are far stronger in pulling power than at the end of a workout. In our training we have mixed it up Heavy Squats then Dead and reverse a week later. But have opted for Deads last.

On point though is you have 150 easy on any other day, but comps are different you do not have the luxury of being fresh.

So it is better to train deads when you are fatigued, replicate the comp conditions.

Get your GPP up so you can finish stronger.

Button off the Squat by 10kgs or so and have a big Dead.

Very Good lifting SS all lifts were competition standard, and only two week lead up and injured, you are sounding more and more like PL.

Stay trong see you on Saturday Peter Jackson Jnr.

Hey SS, that's praise indeed! Hope you enjoyed the comp today...if it motivates you as much as the NZFBB Wellie show did for me, I'm sure you'll be in there with a vengeance come June. Keep it up! :notworthy: :notworthy:

The junior 82s record got smashed yesterday, well and truly out of my reach for June. So I've got some new goals.

Goals:

14/6/08 comp: 145/90/160 (raw)

6/12/08 comp: 1000lb club (at least!)(geared)

And now I don't have to maintain my weight I feel I will make better progress. Hopefully I'll be a solid 90 by the December comp (I currently hover about 83-85).

ME Squat

A - Good Mornings

Done with slighty bent knees, bending until the bar was over my toes.

8*20

8*30

8*40

5*50

5*60

5*70

3*80

3*90

3*95

3*100 - Bar slipped after the first, had to rerack before doing the other two.

Will still count 3*100 as a PB, just so I can beat it next week.

B1 - Glut Ham Raises

10*BW*3

Struggled on these today, some reps were cheated.

B2 - Reverse Hypers

8*???lb?*3

Didn't count the weight, but heavier than I used to use.

Pull Down Abs

Meant to do 5 sets of 10-15, but was just learning how to do them today. Weights and reps were all over the show.

Leg Raises

5 sets of 15. I may have cheated quite a few reps...

Comments

A good into to westside! I've got to get my core up to speed! I'll be running this programme for the next 6 weeks, then deload one week before the comp.

Can we fix it? Yes we can (the font, that is)...but we didn't 'coz we're NICE PEEPS!

Actually, no matter how you slice it, 100kg good mornings is still an impressive effort!

When did it get to May?!

ME Bench

2 Board Bench

8*20

8*30

8*40

5*50

5*60

5*70

3*80

3*85 - PB - previous 3*82.5 on 10/4

3*87.5 - PB

Lying Tricep Extensions (with EZ bar)

10*20

10*25

10*22.5

3 sets of 10*20

I'll do 6 sets of 22.5 next week. My form dropped a bit when I went up.

Tricep Pushdowns

3 sets of 10*90lb

90lb is well below what I normally do, but shit they were hard.

One Arm Press (palms in)

2 sets of 15*17.5lb for each arm - didn't quite finish the second set

15*15lb

Comments

Mudda fudda my triceps are wasted! I struggled to put my jacket and bag on after. I was quite embarrassed with the one arm press numbers, especially when I used to shoulder press much more than that. But in my defence palms in requires a lot more tricept involvement, and obviously that became an issue...

Tomorrow will be interesting for my arms.

I can confirm some quite bad DOMS. Hopefully it doesn't hamper my test performance tomorrow morning. [sarcasm]Contract law is fun![/sarcasm]
