The bench press is a stupid exercise.

Bench Press

12 x 60kg

10 x 70kg

8 x 80kg

6 x 80kg

10 x 70kg

12 x 60kg

I don't think my tris were fully recovered, felt it there more than anything.

DB Fly

4 sets of 10 x 30lb

DB Bench

3 sets of 10 x 45lb

BB Curls

2 sets of 12 x 20kg

4 sets of 10 x 25kg

DB Hammer Curls

4 sets of 10 x 25lb

EZ Bar 21s

1 set @ 15kg

1 set @ 20kg

1 set @ 15kg

Your weight is irrelevant. You've already squatted you bodyweight many times, and I've already benched my bodyweight multiple times.

Yeah but you are fat now. When did you bench 100kgs? I must have missed it

Squat

1 x 140kg

1 x 155kg

1 x 170kg

1 x 175kg

1 x 180kg - with knee wraps on

Form was off today. The 175 was one mother of a grinder. I lost my arch on the way down and was hunched over on the way back up. Not impressed at all. Still, it's a pretty decent PB. 175 used to be my max with wraps. I just did the 180 with wraps just to say I've done 4 plates.

Did some other stuff afterwards which isn't important.

So where to from here... I'm going to crank the arched back good mornings and core work. I'm going to tweak my template a bit to make room for this.

Nice work there SS. Before you know it you'll be doing 5 plates. Are you doing nationals in a couple weeks or setting up for the PH Open in November? Be good to catch up bro.

I've got family commitments over the nationals weekend so unfortunately can't make it. All the more training for the PH open :grin:

Life got a bit hectic today and I only had some free wagamama before training. Felt pretty drained after my main lift.

Paused 1 board

3 x 85kg

3 x 90kg

3 x 95kg

3 x 100kg

Pretty easy actually. Though John accused me of belly benching! I think I'm pretty much on my sternum when I'm benching full ROM.

Military Press

10 x 40kg

3 sets of 6 x 50kg

Seem to have got a lot weaker with these... Not eating didn't help.

Dips

50 reps in 7 sets

Was drained as by this point. Way weaker than normal on dips. I'll up the total reps by 10/20 each week til I get to 100.

Shoulder Press Machine

10 x 40kg

3 sets of 10 x 50kg

Just a quick PL related question for you or any other PLers reading this:

What sort of lift stats (squat/bench/dead) would a sub-80kg guy need to enter a comp without embarassing himself?

There is no such total. Its not about what youre lifting if your in a novice comp. It's about giving it your all. No one is going to mock you because you can't lift what they can.

For once Quigley types something that makes sense!

Noone gets laughed at in comps. Often the guys/girls people respect the most are the ones that grind out a new PB, rather than the guys lifting 100+kgs more.
