Strong deads for reps!

They make you breath after your done aye? Best I have done for reps is 10*160 so I cant imagine your 10*170 must have been tricky.

Cheers Josh, high rep deads are something else... Mixture of anger, wanting to die, pain, sickness and general lunacy...

Turned up to training hung over... Upper hamstring/glute a bit sore.

5/3/1 Cycle 1 : Week 3 : Deadlift 5/3/1

Deadlift

5 x 140kg

3 x 160kg

10 x 180kg

I was shaking for a good 10 minutes after the 180 set... I did about 6 then threw up a bit in my mouth, so I spat in the sick bucket. Did a couple more then was going to stop, but got yelled at to keep going. Lockout on the last rep was dodgy as, no way it would have passed, but who cares... Think my hamstring/glute affected my lock out.

20 minutes of sitting around feeling worse than death

1 set

Squats

5 sets of 5 x 100kg

Going to be adding some medium intensity squats after DLs from now on. For obvious reasons I didn't want to go very heavy today...

Face Pulls

Several sets x lots of reps

Hanging Leg Raises

Several sets x lots of reps

Bench Press

100 x 20kg

The bar has never felt so heavy!

5/3/1 Cycle 1 : Week 4 : Press Deload

Did my deload pressing then stuffed around for the rest of the workout. Nothing worth recording really. I think this deload week will be long and annoying, I'm ready to lift something heavy already! I'll be doing some tyre flipping to keep me busy in the mean time.

5/3/1 Cycle 1 : Week 4 : Squat

Did my deload squats then just mucked around again. Did some tyre flips, got 43s again, did a few uneven flips which slowed me down. Also did some zercher squats today, worked up to a couple sets at 100kg, f(*%ing ouch!!!

Thanks. It's about all I'm good at. Unfortunately I got beaten yesterday. Someone else did 182.5 for 12. I'll be having a crack at 190 in a few weeks so hopefully I can put that up 8 or 9 times.

Yesterday's training:

5/3/1 Cycle 1 : Week 4 : Bench Press

Some light bench, tried out DB floor press, dips and a few other bits and pieces. Dips were sore, but I don't think they're damaging. I'm going to give them a decent go. One more deload day left, then I'm back into things on Saturday.

12 x 47.5kg - PB, last time I did that weight I got 11 reps, felt stronger than I did that day too.

Incline Bench

Worked up to...

5 x 67.5kg

5 x 70kg

Didn't really know where my strength was at on this. I'll do 3 sets of 70 next week then go up from there.

Chin ups

25 reps - 5,5,4,4,4,3

4 days after doing 5x10 on the GHR my hamstrings are still sore... Always happens with the damn GHR first time back in a while.

I used an old as bar with amazing knurling on it today. Slippage wasn't too much of a problem :).

I thought I got 11, spotter said 10. Dunno. Stopped with a couple reps left in the tank.

Dips

5 sets of 10 x BW (95kg including clothes)

First time properly doing dips, freaking wasted me. I'm going to add weight (5kg) next week and stick with that till I get 5 x 10 again. Triceps were destroyed!

DB Floor Press

2 sets of 10 x 50lb

10 x 55lb

2 sets of 10 x 50lb

I'm going to ditch this next week, but my triceps were so destroyed it seems superfluous.

Facepulls

10 x 30kg

10 x 40kg

3 sets of 10 x 50kg

Um yeah... If I get more than 8 at 190kg in a couple weeks I'll put the weight up another 10kg. 15 reps (with maybe another couple in me) is getting a bit silly.

Beltless 3s Paused Squats

2 sets of 3 x 100kg

2 sets of 3 x 105kg

3 x 110kg

Should be good for the core and explosion out of the hole. Will do this for the rest of the cycle.

GHRs

4 sets of 8

Hands on head for almost all the reps.

Landmine

3 sets of 20.

Failed on the 8th. Not impressed at all. I guess I'll put it down to stress/exams and hit a good number next week.
