Massage eh, well now that would all depend on where you go to get one :pfft:

Haha but seriously though they are well worth if if you can afford them, if I could i'd go twice a week but even once a fortnight will do wonders for your physique, must be very deep tissue massage to get the full benefit from it.

Remember recovery is when we grow so pay just as much attention to it as you do training and nutrition.

sweet, might see waht a 12 month membership is at the local parlour tehehe

I doubt that there would be any recovery of the deep tissues

Seriously, I get a massage done once a month by a qualified Rainer massage therapist. It helps with recovery and is sorting out my minor niggles.

Laver I cant be bothered searching for the old thread...

but Expensive_urine (a member)

gave a link to a research article into how deep tissue massage aids recovery of contractile abilitys.

Long story short...

It makes you feel better (not so sore) but has no affect on recovery of contractile ability.

Sorry, my spelling mistake, it's Raynor. The guy I use incorporates Raynor style along with therapeutic/remedial deep tissue, reflexology and acupressure. Whenever I have a massage, it has various elements of each of these to get a good result for me. Raynor style has a very strong eastern influence. It's good for healing chronic injuries and old aches and pains. RSI (repetitive stress injury), pinched nerves, sciatica, arthritis etc etc. Other benefits include enhanced general performance of the body's organs and systems, increased energy levels, clarity of mind and good health.
